The whole government is just a big circus act 🙄
This new contract is loony
Always has been
In 2014, Israel introduced a now-defunct policy to send those rejected for asylum and illegal immigrants - mainly from Sudan and Eritrea - to Rwanda
I declare water is dry and fire is cold...
Another £100,000,000 of our money. Or the cost is now up to £2,400,000 each.
No the cost is currently infinite as we’ve not sent anyone there yet. £240milloon on 0 people. How much more will they spend before they get 1 person sent to Rwanda?
It would be nice to know exactly who is receiving this money and what connects they have to Rushi and his pals
100% they will find out in a few years and say " oh ! Sorry"
This is top-notch analysis - thanks!
Aaha
Definition of madness...
What 😂the hell going on in the UK from the USA
Look at USA
The government is struggling to hold back the hordes of migrants because half of the Conservative Party, and the public, think removing them is fascistic. It's insanity😂
Well, UK didn’t leave the ECHR for some reason. So all the leftists say it’s ’illegal’ to deport criminal invaders. The indigenous English are being wiped out.
We've been sent backwards by 13 years of the worst governance in living memory
Brexit
This is literally legislating for thought police
NO it is just a migrant swop we send some we take some of theirs whats the point? We also pay for them while they are there and pay for the ones we take. Also Rwanda can also cherry pick who they will take. Only people who will suffer is the tax payer.
Why is this our problem...just stop these bloody boats..😡
Exactly. Sending them to Rwanda is funded with tax payers money
But the Conservatives STARTED the boats. If they stopped them we’d see who is really fleecing the country.
when did the conservatives "start the boats", im genuinely curios@@JoButterwick
@@dookuhaka There were enough to be worth counting by 2018 when there were 299. This year (2023) there have been 29,000 so far. The Conservatives have been in power since 2010.
What the heck is this all about? We hava to give all rights to criminals, who want to use the generosity of the social system in the UK, who pretend they are political refugees, who do not want to work, who cost all us, tax payers zillions of pounds, who start their stay in the UK with a crime of illegal entering the country and yet, there are so many people who claim that those people have more rights than we citizens and legal residents. What the f....?
Oh dear...
A GBNews addict
Are we seriously bringing back prison colonies in 2023?
Various countries do the same as UK except to islands in the middle of nowhere to process asylum seekers
Hope so
I sooooo hope so
As it should be to fit the purpose.
@@thwalesproductions Yes but those only use the locations for processing asylum seekers. Once processed they are either accepted and allowed in or they are deported elsewhere. The Rwanda scheme just send them to Rwanda and they stay there.
30,000 people on small boats this year so far.
750,000 immigrants net last year.
One of these issues is 25 times biglier than the other and yet the smaller problem gets 25 times more media attention.
Mad, isn’t it?
And very few legal immigrants pay nett tax towards the services they and their extended families use.
this is all a smoke screen, we’re talking IF it goes ahead about a hand full of planes , still leaving many many thousands on our shores, it’s a frigging joke
I want to go to Rwanda
Clown island 🏝 😂
All this fuss over taking a couple of hundred illegal immigrants, that's less than one day's worth! 🤬
I'll be stunned if it deals with one days worth of vikings
It doesn't have to. The point is to deter. The first plane that flies tells _all_ potential boat migrants that they may end up somewhere they don't like. They are then likely to think more favourably of Paris or Berlin for their future asylum claims.
The Australian experience was that once a few hundred had been processed on such well-known havens of benefits and mod-cons as Manus or Nauru Islands, boat arrivals basically just stopped.
Yes but we still have no plans to leave the ECHR so no one will Ever be on one of these planes. @@dizwell
@@calumhenderson9404 We cannot _practically_ leave the ECHR, as continued adherence to it underpins the post-Brexit EU trade deal, for starters.
I am more confident than I was originally that the legislation makes appealing flights much harder than before -but I certainly agree that there likely won't be any flights before a change of government. The human "rights" legal industry in this country is a well-oiled machine!
It's why I've long argued we should have opened an off-shore processing centre in Diego Garcia, the Falklands or some other overseas territory of our own: no-one could question the safety or refoulement potential of such an overseas yet entirely domestic migrant processing route.
@@dizwell
'The human "rights" legal industry in this country is a well-oiled machine!'
In other words, lawyers just do their job? Hmm... what a shock. Lmao.
@@dizwellWe don’t even need to waste money on such.
We could literally set up a base in northern France and process asylum applications there. France offered this almost a decade ago.
This would instantly solve the issue of those arriving on our shores to apply.
Put the money into the system to speed up the applications then it would mean those that are successful can be sent to the UK and begin working straight away contributing to society and those who are unsuccessful never arrive in the first place
But the tories don’t actually want to solve the crisis. They want to keep it going and basically point to labour and say they’re worse than us to try and convince the feeble minds of Tory voters that they’re worth voting for
Didn't watch it. Useless question
The question and analysis should be: "Why is the Conservative government doing it's hardest to make this country a good o'l fashion colonial micro empire again in a time that working together is the answer, rather than pissing on human rights, starting and supporting wars and genocide, controlling its population in a modern slavery kind of concept and a protectionism that only leads to loneliness, isolation and the growing disgust from neighbours and other (still) allies.
The UK needs the world and not the other way around.
The world can easily do without the UK...
best comment
What genocide did we start?
Sky is green. Grass is blue. Boris Johnson is honest.
Having spent hundreds of millions on setting up safe accommodation in a warm sunny, friendly, Tory free nation. Suggest us pensioners and the homeless get a chance to apply.
There is a reason the UN has made this illegal.
It makes the situation worse, the people immediately try to back here and the vulnerable can't do it.
It's the strong, young, single, entrepreneural men who get back here.
So the UN can send refugees there, but we are not allowed?
all the talking and no action is now getting dangerous. dangerous from every single corner of the country.
So We pay the French to stop the boats.
Then we pay Rwanda to take those who the French failed to stop.
The UK government is a travel agency.
Which country is next to go on the payroll?
Yes get them out now !
In 2014, Israel introduced a now-defunct policy to send those rejected for asylum and illegal immigrants - mainly from Sudan and Eritrea - to Rwanda
They should have been doing this for years now send them away at all costs. They just coming here for benefits of our great nation
“Great nation”. 😂😂😂😂😂
@@JoButterwickWell if UK wasnt such a great nation, migrants wouldn't be coming here in their hoards
If refugees from Rwanda will be taken by UK in exchange for sending the boat refugees there, then the statement "Rwanda is a safe country", doesn't make any sense from International law point of view.
Yeah its safe. But don't worry if they don't want them. They can send them back to uk. No questions asked
Throwing another £100 million not going to change anything returning same day to beaches of departure will and it won’t cost half as much as RNLI can meet with French officials halfway as they do now
An island that can't even get it's own borders right lmao pathetic. And people still volunteer to fight and die for it..
We need to employ P&O ferrys to do the france to UK run . That would end the small boat crisis !
Regardless of who we vote for, morally speaking, even a majority of voters cannot vote to override the inalienable rights of others… that includes the right of migrants not to be subjected to violence (or coerced with the very real threat of violence) in order to remove them from Britain.
Morality is the most subjective code...very flexible.
@@ryanfraser167 worth adding is the difference between prisons and detention centres - the latter are used to confine people who have not committed any crime other than their presence and mobility.
lets have all the illegal immigrants come and stay at yours then!.
They should start by sending our politicians.
I declare I've got 2 heads. There, that's a true fact now...
Please send it Tory party to Rwanda 🇷🇼 😂😂😂
Sending 200 in the first year (out of 44 thousand ! At a cost of 240m upto now. Thats more then 1 million per person. !!! I want some of that
Rwanda is safer than the UK that's a fact.
Yes, poor but safe.
Less talk more action.
Just cancel the channel RNLI and make a new org just for actual fishing fleets
Should have to prove they a productive member of society in Rwanda
Sunak knows it's going to fail which is why he keeps saying "it's up to Labour to support it". The tories have a 70ish seat majority, they don't need Labour to support anything unless their own MP's rebel
I'd correct Jonathon Sumption in that the provisions of the 1969 Vienna Convention on Treaties have been flouted. National Law is subordinate to Treaty, and creating a second treaty to flout a first is provided for under that convention.
yet france is ignoring law to deport
Does Rwanda under the agreement not have the right to return refugees to the UK if they commit a crime while in Rwanda.
If so cynical me thinks this would be an easy way back to the UK and if so what happens then.?
Also the government continues to say how safe and wonderful Rwanda is, that being the case even more boat crossing could happen so that they can get to Rwanda!!
This is absolutely crazy. Rishi say's Rwanda is safe so therefore it is
Of course a politician wouldn't lie to get what he wants would he?
@@stevec6427 it's gone past politicians telling lies it's now politicians telling us that if we don't agree with them they simply change the law so we have to. Very scary
Here we come Rwanda. Basically clause 5(a)-(d) is telling the UKSC to ignore any relevant domestic or international legislations and jurisdiction. Now why haven't Priti and Suella thought of that?
The case was still in court. They had to wait for the final ruling of the UK Supreme Court.
Talk crap
NO!
At this point its over Rishi
Cost of all this ....as of 7th december 2023... £240,000,000 ..... ie 1/4 yes quarter of a billion pounds to removec300 people and recieve 200 people in return. Sunakmis muggingbus, the 99% off - AGAIN,
Only a fascist Government can declare such as this.
I understand that Britain accepts asylum seekers from Rwanda.
Israel pulled out for a reason.
What legal system does the UK have if they have to ignore the facts in their decisions?
It's based on the doctrine of parliamentary sovereignty.
The US Supreme Court can only strike down laws from Congress and states that are unconstitutional.
If this case were brought in any English common law system, the legislature easily amend the laws or constitution to have the final say.
It's absurd, next they are going to declare the sky purple and the moon square.
It's about what's right. Other countries in the world constantly do this.
@@user-di1rj2be7w from my perspective democracies typically have separation of powers. It's the first time I've heard about legislation that changes reality, except for the legalization of marijuana maybe.
Nothing the tories do will work...they are totally incompetent
Of course it Will !!!!! Sending 200 immigrants to rwanda in a year will have the 44000 immigrants thst cross every year , Shaking in thier nike air's
To make deportation wok.
Nope,no and no chance.and sunak knows it,claims it can't be stopped, then says of anyone stops it there will be trouble. Hopeless, and useless.
Waste of money
This is an absolute travel state this is a joke what is the point in having rules what is the point in having laws this country is not safe even for the occupants that live there it's not safe but to put people from a different country There and be actually going ahead with it even though it's been ruled it is not legal it is not safe this man Mr. Shunak has lost his absolute rocker this reminds me of the madness of king George what probably worse
its not even a country without a border
Mr Sanke has handoverd 750 and big lands to Cruel UAE dominating rulers inviting them invest so many places occupied by Arabs in UK
They badly miss behaved with butlers and innocent household workers
Cruel Rich Arab Families have no mercy for them
They never talk about them in news
They should never be in the UK in the first place.
Rwanda is far too good for them.
No. Only MASS DEPORTATION will work at this stage.
of the government...
why are people putting up with those muppets wasting your money on somethink what's never going to happen I can see straight from those muppets
Hey, will Rwanda take Mexicans and other assorted Central Americans? Asking for friend....
🥱🥱🥱
And err.. black is white
What a joke.
Come and stay at my house for 1 million a year per person
Finally
Get rid of the court
Fascism has arrived in the UK.
This is new plan .. to get more tex from uk nation
😂
Yawn.
ONS now believes that net migration-the number of people immigrating minus the number emigrating-was 745,000 in the calendar year 2022.
In 2022, the UK received applications for asylum for 89,398 people (including dependants). This is far fewer people applying for asylum in the UK compared to other countries. It's around three times less than the number of applications received by Germany (243,835), and considerably less than France (156,455) and Spain (117,945).
