I've watched a dozen videos on what to expect on your first urologist appointment. I still dont have a clue why I need a specialist rather than seeing my regular doctor. I had a colectomy 6 weeks ago and the urologist wants me to come in for unknown reasons. I have no problems urinating or with erection. So why do I need this and what will they do to me?
If you feel more comfortable going to your regular doctor, I would. The only things a urologist will do is check your testicles for any abnormalities. Maybe check your penis, he will do a digital rectal exam, to check your prostate. Probably palpate your abdomen and feel around your bladder and kidneys. There's not much else they can do. Unless it's something invasive like a cystoscopy, but if you don't have any bladder problems, they won't even suggest that.
