Route Overview: The total distance covered by the M6 is approximately 196 kilometers (122 miles). Notably, it features elevated sections, including one where it runs along the edge of the Lam Takhong Reservoir.
The motorway 🛣️ begins near Bang Pa-in Interchange in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, north of Bangkok, and extends northeast through Saraburi Province. It then passes through the Dong Phaya Yen pass before entering the Khorat Plateau and finally terminates at Nakhon Ratchasima Bypass Road. As the gateway to the entire northeastern region, Nakhon Ratchasima holds immense cultural and economic significance.
Construction Progress: Although the project was conceived in 1997, construction only began in 2016. Initially scheduled for completion in 2020, the project faced delays due to outdated survey information. Modifications to designs and budget extensions were necessary, and the new expected completion date is 2025.
