My dad and his father-in-law (my papa) used to bang tautog everyday in the fall off Beavertail after WWII. Got some old pics with them and a few slobs. Today, they’re few and far between. So I’m very happy for you guys to film this great fishing trip. Just spectacular.
Can you do a rigging video? What size, line and hook and rig were you using? It is very impressive to get fish that big and have everything hold up, and also how you baited the crab.
Fishing Lover you are exactly right. Keep the 3-5 pounders, release the rest. This is exactly why so many fisheries are falling apart. I release almost everything I catch. Quick pic and back they go
Freakin awesome. We just caught 3.5 Lb’ers and thought we were the bomb @ 18”. And there is no way those fish were 17/20 lb. If they are 20” and fat they push 12 lb. come on. But what’s best for UA-cam. Still fun to see m
To each fisherman his own. We shouldn’t judge others. If they are in legal limits. You can keep them. But that being said. I wouldn’t have kept them 🤷🏻♂️
To each his own, but don't knock the guy because he don't look at things the same way you do. The first fish was pumping blood out as well as eyes bulging out. When fish are pulled up out of the deep they don't have the highest survival rate when released.

that 21 pound tog was probably 35- 40 years old easy bro cause 15 inch ones ares between 15 to 20 years an that is like 22inches
How deep is the wreck? With a tank and a speargun you could probably hunt down a 25 plus
Judging by the popped out eyeballs on those big guys it’s probably pretty deep
140 feet
Didnt weigh it but I caught a 25 inch taug over the weekend off Newport, ri. Felt great

Fish as old as both of those should be released. Blackfish grow extremely slow. Could have produced so may more trophy fish.

The fish wouldn’t of lived did you see how it was bleeding big fish like that coming from deep water doesn’t have a good chance of living
💯 we do t catch many big ones. But if we do. They go back. Plenty on the 3-5 range that eat well!!!
What the hell is Bill Belichick doing chartering in the middle of January?

Catch and Release.
Honestly. We keep them in the 16”-20” range but anything over we relapse. And that is 2-5lb’ers here.
2 fish of a lifetime congratulations guys!
Those are some big ass togs ...
Nice ! ,
It Looks like Louie Armstrong! LOL
Kinda stinks you guys kept them both...

He was so happy when the other guy had the fish over 20 , what a troll .........
That old mate..meh... He should have been congratulating both of you. A 17 lb fish is once in a lifetime.
Saludos a migo eselente
Subbed!!!!!!!
That mate really didn’t like you lol , from the moment the fish hit the deck “teenager” , I would of thrown the fish at him after it hit over 17.
Should have let him go. What’s the point? Just take a pic.
give me those fuckin #'s !!!!!!!!!
30 year old fish.
Those are old fish...at least bleed them so they dont suffer. the meat will taste better too
Should've thrown them back!

WTF? didn't show that still catch in video. Click Bait! That's just another day on the water.
Looks like Trump
Sounds like sea money talking. Just that tone of voice and attitude you get tired of.
