Well, this was a long time coming 8-|
Before I begin, I want to thank every one of my subscribers. You are all awesome and I NEVER thought I would ever reach 100 subs. I didn't think I could ever produce material that would gain such a fan base. It feels really great to know that people like my stuff and are interested to see more :-) Thank you all so much for your support!!
Now I want to apologize for the lateness of this song. It was a project of mine that I started way back in June, but I hardly put any work into it for a long time. When I realized the 100 sub plateau was coming, I decided that I needed to take up this project again to make it my 100 sub special. However, school really got in the way and I couldn't finish it in time. I kept working on it bit by bit, but when I realized how long it was going to take to actually finish it, I released a few songs in the meantime to hold people (and me) over :-P After that I made a promise that this would be the next song I release, and after spending much of my winter break away from MPC, here it is (finally)!
I have a strong feeling this song will evoke mixed reactions. Obviously, it is not really a musical song. It has a simple melody that is revisited several times, but the signature of this song is weird instruments and weird sound effects. However, the song appealed to me because I feel it is pretty catchy, and there are several parts to it. Each part of the song is centered around a phase of the battle against Zant in the game, each phase fought the same way as with a previous boss and in the same old boss environment. It changes 6 times, each phase getting progressively more difficult and the music getting progressively more complicated until the final phase, where you fight Zant in front of Hyrule Castle.
I am the first to realize that I didn't recreate the song perfectly at all. First, tempo gaps prevented the song from being up to speed (especially for the Final Phase, as that is supposed to be much faster :-/ ) Also, as can be heard, many of the instruments I used are not close to being accurate and a lot of the parts aren't composed completely well, with some parts even being improvised a bit. But I did my best. I purposely used the original soundfont for the challenge of it, and I did it completely by ear too for the same reason (it was actually easier than it may seem :-P )
Please also excuse the quality of the recording. I still couldn't get a good one (particularly without lag) after a few attempts :-/
As a final note, thanks everybody who is subscribed to me, I love you all :-D I'm sorry for the massive delay of this special, but I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did making it :-D

Why does it sound so close to the original
Insanely fast tempo lets you do a LOT more with Mario Paint Composer. That & finding instruments with similar waveforms to what the original uses helps too.

Dear lord, an even more demented and twisted version of Zant's Battle theme. This kind of madness should never have escaped the Twilight Realm, but I'm glad you made it.
The final phase fade out is a bit too steep, though.

This sorely needs to be defined as epic, badass, win, and all sorts of other words. Seriously - making the baby noise sound menacing is an accomplishment, as is using every instrument but Yoshi. Insane tempo, insane instrumentation, for a boss that is pure insanity, and I love it.

The original soundfont percussion always requires some sort of creativity :-/ Thanks very much for the compliment! It's good to know the result I got after playing around with the percussion seemed to turn out right :-D

That's so kind of you, lol. I'm really happy you see my stuff as inspiration. But I know you'll get better with practice! Regarding my tempo, I think it was in the 3000's-4000's for most of the song and the 5000's for the final part of the battle, though I don't totally remember. I personally like higher tempos just because they give you ability to play more notes per beat, heh.
That's such a huge compliment dude, I appreciate it! What really made this song appeal to me for making it in MPC was indeed those sound effects, I thought that would just be a blast to recreate. I feel there are certainly a bunch of MPCs since though where people have used crazy instrument combos and tricks lol

@metroidfan29 Thanks! :-DD I noticed that much of the OST's overall pitch didn't match up with that of Mario Paint Composer. Things were often out of tune when I was making it lol. So I did my best trying to make things sound accurate, but I may have messed up here and there based off of what I heard in my ear :-/

I love how you made that clashing noise near the beginning!
Faces and dogs hurt my ears. After hearing the original though, you definitely managed to get the sounds right. In fact, the whole song is amazingly close to the original. I can admire that you did it by ear too. Every MPC song I've heard that was done by ear just comes out better because you have to really hear both the original and your own song. I also love anything that's experimental in MPC, and I've never heard some of the stuff you did before. Overall, really cool and really well made.

its still one of the few mpcs that uses a massive ton of unique combinations and contrast between instruments, all put into one mpc. the amount of unique tricks you pulled of is countless in this, and yet there's only been a few mpcs after this in which they achieved this standard!

I love all the small touches you add, to the piece with the various instrument combos and the video as a whole. Of course the MPC is as great as usual and while not so catchy or melodic it was very technical and showed great skill, which is why you have 100 subs :P

I really like the final phase, with all the gameboys swans and pirhanas! Its ace!
All I can say, really, is the bongos (at least I think they're bongos) that start in phase 1and go until about half way through the video, might have sounded better with mushrooms rather than boats. But, whatever! :P
