Kathie Nittle moved back to Roseto and her family was referenced in a very touching January 31, 2016 Lehigh Valley Live article about the "Roseto Effect" and her family's role in a study about the connection between family ties and a long life.

I can't believe not one snoring ovation was given. Peggy or Art Fleming, I didn't think of Ian

Ian was the only one I could think of, though after hearing it, I recognized Peggy. I have no idea who Art Fleming is.

Not so much. I hate wearing suits and ties. Way too constricting.

I have been wondering about the temperature in that studio. Gene always wears those 3 piecers. Sometimes the women wore sleeveless tops. If it was comfortable enough to go sleeveless, wouldn't Gene have been over heated with all those clothes?

    H/H match update:
    ...
    Today's action:
Our champ just needs to match one of the six celebs to achieve a tie, two to win his second game, and the question sounds like a gimme to me. - Yes, indeed: Brett ties it up and Charles brings it home. (The entire bottom tier also matched with "mugger.")
Today's audience match question: "It's ________ time" (My thoughts: Miller, about, high)
The celebs: Brett (Howdy Doody), Charles (About), Richard (Post)
    The choice: About
The answers: Party, Howdy Doody, About
Last time our champion chose Richard and matched. It seems unlikely that he'll change horses in the middle of this stream...
Well, I don't mean to call Richard a horse, but... This is Richard's fourth consecutive play and now he's been chosen 74 of the past 77 times. (Charles answered the remaining three questions.)
Richard has matched 57 of his 129 most recent attempts (44.2%), 40 of his last 86 attempts (46.5%), and 20 of his last 36 attempts (55.6%). His overall success rate is 42.1% and this is his 607th attempt overall.
    For the sake of comparison: Charles has matched 33 of his 66 attempts (50.0%), Joyce has matched 3 of her 4 attempts (75.0%), and Brett has matched 28 of her 68 attempts (41.2%).}
    Today's H/H question: "_______ Fleming"
(I never like name questions because it's hard to remember who was top of mind so long ago. But skater Peggy Fleming comes to mind, so I'll just say that without any further ado.)
The champ begins nodding and smiling as soon as Gene asks the question, so he's got his answer. For his part, Gene has that distant "What would I say?" gaze. The camera cuts to Richard who hasn't begun writing. He's confabbing with Joyce (whispering in her ear). When the camera returns to Richard, he's looking at his answer with that constipated look of indecision. Joyce leans in and whispers in his ear and he files the card.
Our new champion says "Peggy." I'm back in the game! Let's see what Richard's verdict is...
Oh, no. Richard thought of the fact that the contestant is a writer and answered the question with another writer's name: "Ian" Fleming of "James Bond" fame.
    No match today.
Here's our updated leader board showing the 11 celebs with at least 3 H/H matches, ranked by accuracy:
(Note: An asterisk before a celebrity's name signifies that she has "retired" from the show and her H/H stats are now complete.)
(Note: For tied scores, I consider the one with the greater number of matches to be higher; if the matches are equal, the celeb who first achieved that score goes on top.)
    Orson Bean - 100% (4 wins in 4 attempts).
TIE: (*)Jo Anne Worley - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts).
TIE: Joyce Bulifant - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts).
    Gary Burghoff - 71.4% (5 wins in 7 attempts).
    TIE: Charles - 50.0% (33 wins in 66 attempts).
    TIE: Betty - 50.0% (19 wins in 38 attempts).
    TIE: Fannie - 50.0% (13 wins in 26 attempts).
Jo Ann Pflug - 44.4% (8 wins in 18 attempts).
    Richard - 42.0% (255 wins in 607 attempts).
    Brett - 41.2% (28 wins in 68 attempts).
    Bert Convy - 33.3% (5 wins in 15 attempts).
*These stats include every head-to-head match from episode 1 through 943, excluding the lost/missing/damaged episodes: 31, 32, 33, 311, 312, 313, 324, 325, 645, and 910. (As per MatchGameProductions, these episodes "are nowhere to be found and also aren't in the Goodson/Todman Library. Sadly, looks like they are lost forever!") -- Also, note that episode 849 was never produced.

Ian Fleming is known as one of the best authors of all time, and created one of the most famous spies in literature, and later the Big Screen. Much better than a figure skater. That shouldn't even be considered a sport. More of an artistic competition.
