I’ve got to give it to you both a big applaud 👏 for crawling under there. A little extra for Jeannie for her filming which she did a great job at it. It’s definitely hard work but to have a cool house for the summer it’s all worth it. I still admire you Mike for building your own ducts n installing them. The best part is, you know what you’re doing! Looking forward to part 3. Have a good weekend, try to stay cool n God Bless. ♥️♥️😊👍👍👍🌟
Did you hear me yell “Yaaaayyy!!!” when that first piece of ducting detached?! LOL! A big thanks to Jeanie for staying under there with you and filming for us! Great job! I kept thinking of spiders! Eww! A crazy thought occurred to me while watching - how hard would it be to dig out some of the floor dirt enough to crawl under those ducts? Yeah, I wouldn’t want to do it either. Well now that you’ve got better access and cleaned out some of the debris that had built up over the years, hopefully the next stage of the job will be a lot easier. Knowing you, Mike, those new ducts are going to line up perfectly and look pristine! Keep cool, you two! Best, Jan.
Hi Jan! So far, we haven't encountered anything under the house that's alive. We have a bunch more work to do under there but we are very motivated to finish it with summer bearing down.
This is where the saying, out with the old, carries its merits entirely. Hopefully, one day, a treasure or a few can be found. Interesting to hear criteria for a new house. There’s some unique mystery pending future videos. I suppose this house wasn’t purchased on a dream-house basis. Talk about prepping it for the next owners, or should I say, curators? …when the time comes, of course.
Completely amazed that there is no isolation material attached un der the ground floor. With your cold climate it would definitely increase the level of comfort and keep the rooms longer warm. Will you also insulate all big metal pipes from the furnace to the rooms so that the air flow stays warmer while being transported through the house? I trust you will make it all look well organised under the floor.
@@nancyyoungs933 we here in the Netherlands more and more mount insulation under our groundfloors. It makes a huge difference. Rooms stay much longer warm. Houses are differently built here, with just double brick walls with insulation in between, or concrete walls, usually we don't have basements or cellars. My house for instance is situated 4 metres below the level of the North Sea. Groundwater level 2.5 ft when you start digging in your garden.
We get about only a few weeks of bitter cold in the winter since we live in the southern US. Our floors are very thick solid wood, which helps keep them warm.
I have to say Jeannie was certainly brave as I don't blame her for not liking to go under the house . I always think of spiders and mice or, in some extreme cases, even snakes. Yech! Watching you play with the ducting, I kept thinking it looked like Paul Bunyon's dryer vent (only a lot cleaner) stuffed into Tom Thumb's house. 😅 Also, while you were explaining the difference between duct tape and mastick tape, I thought perhaps it might be easier if you took a piece of that tape and taped up those wires that seemed to be "in your face". Hope it stays somewhat cooler for you as you continue to work on your a/c. 👍
All that duct work is like the bowels of the home. It's absolutely amazing what goes into a home. My new home has a basement and I'm thankful for that. Thanks Jeannie for your bravery. Great job Mike.
Ya'll did great! Not to bad under there. Mine you can barely crawl. My son and i fully suited up, everything covered and brought a broom to clear the webs. Lol, we were a sight. But we got a new dryer vent put in. The old one was collapsed and duct type was the culprit. It just fell apart. Can't wait to see the new go in.👍❤️🤍💙
Mike you’re amazing!! Jeannie, brave girl!! What a nasty place to try and work. Thank god we have basements in Michigan!! Love watching you guys! I learn so much from you! ❤
I'm hoping that it was cooler under the house for both of you. Definitely could see that it wasn't going to be easy to remove any of the ductwork, or anything really. Thanks for all you both do to show what can be done, on a tight budget, and in tight spaces. You've helped me to appreciate my Basement, soo much more, too. 🙂 💖 💖
Thank you for braving the creepy crawlspace to film for us, Jeanie! Very brave! I've always wondered what a crawlspace looked like. Most houses in my state (Oklahoma) are built on slab foundations and don't have crawlspaces or basements. Good work, you two! Funny how duct tape isn't for ducts 😂 Hope you have a nice week!
I don’t think I would like to work under my house and put a new ductwork system in. Mike, you and Jeanie work so well together. I can tell this wasn’t one of either of your favorite jobs but keep looking forward. Just imagine being able to sleep upstairs comfortably, no more freezing or roasting. Can’t wait for next week and see how far you two will get under the house.
You can always do what my Pap did. Part of his house had a full basement and part of it didn't. He went and dug out the part that didn't and made a basement. If you didn't have enough projects 😂
You've got that right! We're looking forward to finishing this up as quick as possible. We have talked about digging out but it's more work than we want to tackle.

Thanks 👍We discovered that we'll need to build more ducts and deal with more complications...

It's certainly been an adventure trying to get the kinks worked out.
Great video. Thank you Jeannie for braving the crawlspace to video for all of us. We appreciate your effort. ❤
You are so welcome!
Love the spooky music when the light tipped over.

A true help-meet - both of you! Getting that area clear was BIG!!
We agree!
I’m applauding both of you because choosing who deserves it more is too hard! Always great work and videos from you guys!
Thank you! We have more underhouse work coming...

We love basements! Thanks for stopping by.
No basement?
Love this kind of stuff!!! Thank you. ❤
Wow! I didn't know anybody was interested in the underbelly of old houses. :-)

Yes, basements can be wonderful places. Thank you Leanne! 💖💖

It will be great when you get it done.
I wouldn't be able to get under there. I would have had a panic attach . You are so talented.
Don’t forget to 👍👍👍💙
Wow! Thanks for filming the difficult by excellent work. Look forward to the next video!
Wow lots of dirty work Amazing as always ❤
Jeanie, you Rock !
Lol! Yes she does!
You are awesome Jeanie!
Yes, she is!! :-)

Hello!
A mask would have been appropriate, oh, I forgot, it’s not Covid!
Fortunately, there's nothing nasty under there.
