  • Happy 60th song! I never even dreamed I'd get this far, but here we are! This has been such a journey to get here, and I still have so much to give (and an entire book of lyrics I've written over the years that I still can't find) so I thought I'd make this about my thoughts about what the future might hold and what I might look back on when I turn 60.
    [Verse 1]
I've walked a thousand miles and more,
Seen the sunrise on distant shores,
Watched the seasons change, felt the cold and warm,
But will these memories keep me safe from harm?
    [Pre-Chorus]
Will I smile when I look back on my days,
Will I wish that I had tried to change my ways?
Will the laughter I shared still ring clear,
Or will it be drowned out by tears?
    [Chorus]
Sixty, will I be happier then?
Sixty, will I be proud of who I've been?
Sixty, will I find the peace I've sought,
Will i remember all the lessons I was taught?
Sixty, will I remember all their faces,
Or will they fade with new ones that time replaces.
Sixty, will I be someone who stands tall,
Or just a shadow, forgotten by all?
    [Verse 2]
I've held hands that slipped away,
Felt the weight of words I didn't say,
Seen the years fly by, too fast to hold,
And watched my story silently unfold.
    [Pre-Chorus]
Will the love I've given be my guiding star,
When I'm sixty and the end feels not so far?
Will the times we shared together be enough,
To carry me through when the road gets rough?
    [Bridge]
When the years have carved their lines upon my face,
Will I embrace my time or will I fall from grace?
Will the story I've written be enough to hold,
Or will I feel like I’ve got so much that's left untold?
Will the pages of my life turn to dust,
will they endure the test of time and never rust?
Will the chapters be filled with joy and all i've gained,
Or will they be scattered in the silence and the pain?
