Her views on intimacy/sex makes me so uncomfortable. She reminds me of how my mom and ex stepdad believed, I was raised to be modest and innocent and to this day I have problems with the idea of sex because I feel like it wouldn’t be lady like and have a divide between discovering what I enjoy and being afraid to be in an actual relationship because I feel like I can’t be properly attached.
Basically don’t raise your kids to think they should only be pure, innocent, and modest all of the time until marriage- especially if they’re female. It fucks them up.

Yeah the people who raise their kids like that just seem to think they'll just be able to get over it once they're married, as if being told your entire life that being "pure" and "modest" should be a key part of your identity and even the core of your worth as a person, and then being expected to go through something that get rid of that wouldn't be troubling at minimum and extremely distressing at worst, and these people are confused about that

mackenzie leonard I totally understand where you’re coming from but I still think that it (the dress code) is a bit extreme and that they don’t clarify the right messages. I also think that it doesn’t help with an already very patrilineal society, where women have only gained their place in society as it is now primarily in the last 100 years, correct me of I’m wrong. At the same time I do see your point, and I don’t want to contradict or undermine it, but I feel like there is a better way to deal with bullying then a dress code

"Men are all visual and never emotional creatures. It's in our genes" is what my father told me all the time to justify his constant cheating, his awful comments about women's bodies and to bring me down for being emotional and not a real man. I was really confused about my sexuality because of this, I thought something is wrong with me. But I just needed a very, very deep bond of love and friendship to start seeing someone in a sexual way and that doesn't change the fact that I'm a man.

I dress in a very "modest" way, (I won't even wear tank tops or shorts) but it's because I have a lot of issues with my body image, and don't feel comfortable showing any skin. Jewish here, and if you're wondering also asexual. Her making excuses because of her being Jewish or religious is harmful. According to the Gamra (Talmud), there are six sexes. Not genders, but sexes.
    +
The past is a past. I don't care what Moses or Bat-Sheva wore and how it should be kept now. God literally says that he supports the gays (see my comment in the Girl Defined about Fathers' day) and supports loving each other no matter what. So shaming girls because of the way they dress is literally against your religion. They burned jews so many times in the past and it's written, so it should be happening now?
    just. spread love.
Edit: I'm nonbinary and everyone I know regards their religion accepts me. Just wanted to write this because of videos and things like that, spreading misinformation and... yknow can make people antisemitic and people will always find an excuse to be hateful towards minorities, especially towards Jewish people (I've seen tons of comments about people who are a part of the LGBTQ+ community or poc or Muslims that just love to hate us based on our religion:))

"Do you want them to love you or your body?" Um. Well, both. Does a man have to love me for my soul but be repulsed by my body? And if so, what kind of marriage will that be? Certainly not the kind described in the Song of Solomon, which most evang women believe to be pornographic. He LOVES his wife, body and soul, intimately, not abstractly, like he's admiring her uptight character but doesn't like her as a person or feel attracted to her physically. Marriage, especially Christian marriage, should be a sexual relationship, as well as a spiritual and emotional relationship. Too many Christian women are already suffering through loveless marriages, let's not add ourselves to the list.

She no longer thinks p should wait for marriage and it's actually better to know if you enjoy being with someone in bed before you get married (she even thinks marriage is pointless) but she spent over 20 years in a miserable marriage. Forces to suffer 8 miscarriages & 5 difficult pregnancies. All because she grew up being told the only way you can be a women is like what this woman says we should all be.
