Wow what a big job to tackle. It is looking good. Flowers in the attic was also a good movie. I remember watching it years ago. It was a real good movie. Scary/suspense. I am glad this got a good cleaning. The book and the writing on the back of the tombstone is beautiful.

This one took a lot of work and sincere dedication. A really great restoration. A suggestion, to satisfy my curiosity. Spray her parents' markers and do nothing else; I've heard that it can work even without scrubbing. Take a photo of before and after, please.

Never read her books, though I have heard the name. The quote on the back of the surname stone was lovely. What was the symbol on the front of the stone and the quote on the book? Wonder why the individual headstones were not laid out in line and evenly spaced. Is the mother's stone under a tree that it is more stained, especially while newer?
Great job, Christopher. Please do show us the stones in the future. And I'm sure your baby blues 👀 are purty. 😉🤣

Mine go from blue to gray to greenish…so it’s anyone’s guess what they will be on a given day. I’m really not sure what the symbol is….im assuming it’s something referring to being an author or in the literary world. Not a clue.

I would think that that symbol on the side of the stone is the logo for the crafter. It perfectly depicts how they used to move heavy stone before you had machinery.

I read all of her books as a teenager in the '80s. They were kind of depressing and unfortunately incestuous. After she died her family took all of her unfinished manuscripts and had them completed if memory serves.

Yes,a ghost writer "finished" them.I loved the 1st 2 books only and the 2 successful TV or theater movies in the 1980'sGreat job on the clean up,wow!I grew up near Elizabeth City,NC,45 mins from the VA line.

    • @VirginiaTombstoneRevival

Yeah her ghost writer was a male, so I’m not sure if he naturally had the same vision as her. The fact that she was basically wheelchair bound most of her life was what I found to be most shocking…aside from all of the incest. Haha.

One of my favorite authors ive read all her books, her books where way better than the movies. Others i love are Nora Roberts and Christine Pope all American. A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies.Thank you for sharing the story behind one of the greatest authors you gave us a little history lesson this time. Those stones look absolutley beautiful now. The Andrews surname is common in both Britain and Norse, with a particular popularity in Scotland, due to the same-named Patron Saint of Scotland. It is a patronymic name, describing someone who is the son or descendant of a person named Andrew. You have a great weekend. Thank you for all the hard work you do Christopher, wheres our favorite wee man with the cheeky wee smile that warms the heart tell him we miss him.❤

Supposedly, looking at a cemetery online information page, you can dilute the D2 up to 4:1... not positive, but you can double check. That may help you save some money. You probably already dilute it. Just sayin.
