I love the fact that sober Jared was on the same level of stoned Erlich and they were understanding each other even with all the coughing and limited words being said.
I don't think enough people appreciate the subtle genius in Erlich. He is like a master that didn't get to show his mastery. Many others can't identify opportunities like he does. In S01E01(if I recall correctly), when Richard tells him he is not taking the $10M from Gavin, he unexpectedly says it's OK and "Let's see how high this rocket can fly". I think he didn't get to reach somewhere great, for example with his idea which was Aviato, but he wants to see Richard reach somewhere great. Just a thought.

When Gavin Belson showed interest in Pied Piper in pilot episode by setting up a meeting with Richard, Erlich realises that maybe PP is valuable after all and not worthless. Later when Gavin is in China and he showed interest in Chinese PP, Jian Yang declined him as he realised that if Gavin wants it maybe there is something valuable in it. Something I believe Jian Yang picked up from Erlich

It's really a testament to the show's power that they lost both Christopher Welch and TJ Miller (and that female coder character, to a lesser extent) and still managed to be good. Not quite as good, but still good.
When you first start smoking, the smoking part isn't enjoyable but the high is awesome. Eventually you will come to love it and the smoking part will be just as fun as getting high. One of my favorite things is sitting with my friends and just talking or watching tv while passing a blunt around.
The reaction of the other actors makes this so much better. Monica can barely hold her laugh. Dinesh and Richard clearly have this WTF smirk going on, they probably weren't sure if they should break out in laughter or call a doctor. Jared holds on pretty long but at the end he also gives in. Only Gilfoyle manages to stay in character, probably because he didn't have any lines, ah typical Gilfoyle, stoic as ever.
You can say what you want, but Erlich Bachman got some will power not giving up on that smoke.
He was also the first to realize the buyout was a good thing.
