Thank You so much for this very unique seminar!!!
I never cease to be surprised and admire the versatility of the topics You cover in Your lectures!!!
How important and interesting it was for me (I’m sure for all Vaishnavas too!) to learn about the varieties of bells that are used in serving the Lord and His different expansions and avatars!!!
I didn't even think that the different symbols and different figures on the top of the bell indicate that they are meant to worship different personalities!!! I thought that the image of a cow on top of the bell also refers to the worship of Sri Krishna as He tended the cows. Now I know that this is the bull Nandi, and this bell is meant for worshiping Lord Shiva!
For a long time my favorite bell, with the most nectarean sound, was a silver bell with Hanumanji on top that I bought in Udupi. Now I realized that this bell was meant for worshiping Lord Ramachandra. The bell that I have now, with the image of the conch and Sudarshana is meant for the worship of Lord Vishnu (Narayana). The same applies to bells with the image of Garuda (which are quite popular).
And to worship Lord Krishna, we need to look for a bell without any images on the top.
And I also understood from this lecture that the brahmins of antiquity were strong enough to ring bells weighing 8 kilograms during pujas!!! In South India they still are quite strong!
And the bell for Lord Krishna is quite “light” - "only" one kilo!
