It is theorized that Otonashi was the original programmer the guy in the computer room was talking about. Otonashi woke up in the original school uniform all NPCs wear and he had lost all his memories like someone who becomes an NPC does. He didn’t suffer any head injuries during the time he died so his death has nothing to do with his amnesia. It also explains why Angel was there long before Otonashi woke up even though he had to have died before Angel in order for her to have his heart.
Also, there's something else that kinda supports this. The creators released an alternate epilogue (really easy to find on UA-cam, go watch it if you don't want spoliers), in which Otonashi is the student council president. After an interaction with a student, nearby chatter states "I heard he's waiting for someone", which could support that theory, as the programmer was stated to have been driven mad waiting for his beloved, but it is ultimately up to interpretation.
I thought about this theory a lot and have come to the conclusion that it doesn't work. Firstly the biggest whole in it is that you only have memories of when you are alive. He had already died when the train accident happened so he would have no memory or no knowledge of who his heart went out to. Another reason to discount this theory is that he lived a fulfilled life. He was never meant to be in a place like that in the first place. I personally think that Otonashi was the magic bullet to ultimately fix the system. When he started to remember he only remember what he needed to remember which was that he died tragically and unfulfilled but then later realized that he lived a fulfilled life at the end which lead to him doing the same for everyone. It kind of has the God works in mysterious ways kind of thing going about it which I like a whole lot more than the original programmer.
@Gonzalo Puente Actually on a second thought, he isn’t the programmer. The manga reveals that everyone who enters the world wears the NPC uniform. The Battlefront members just changed to different ones they designed to show they were different and. Also, if they become NPCs and regain their consciousness, they don’t get amnesia. Takamatsu and Yuri became NPCs but they regained their memories after breaking out of their NPC states And about Otonashi coming in later than Angel, everyone else has this theory but mine is a little different. My theory is that he came in later than Angel because Angel had regrets when she died which is why she was immediately sent there, whereas Otonashi didn’t which means he wasn’t supposed to go there. He was on his way to heaven or reincarnation and whatnot until something caused him to enter the limbo
@@anthonyju6392 ok this is a bit late, but what if the reason he was there, was because he was the only one that could have angel transcend, god saw that kanade would not be happy untill her last guilt was mended, hence him being there
@@copyright-hv6en I am more or less saying something similar. That there was no one else but Otonashi who could have fixed/righted the broken system. In this case God equipped him with exactly what he needed to do it or rather didn't need which was his memories. At least this what I like to believe. God works in ways that we cannot understand in the moment but only after seeing the results do we appreciate the ways in which he works.

This show actually made me change my mind on the organ donor. When I first had that option, I put "no." This contributed to changing my mind and putting yes. If I die tragically, then I want that tragedy to lead to a miracle for someone else.
My theory is that Yuzuru's soul moved on to the after life once the last person who received one of his organs passed away. This would explain why the person who had his heart got there before him and why he was there even after having a fulfilling life. He was only there so Kanade had the chance to thank him and be at peace.
If you guys like this anime, I very recommend you guys to watch Charlotte, and actually, the writer of Charlotte and Angel beats is the same, so yeah, I strongly recommend this anime to you guys
I just finished angel beats this morning at 1am. Imma be honest I cried. And I don’t ever cry. It was hella wholesome in the end but I was so sad lmao. Defiantly an amazing series. The music was beautiful. My only regret is I can’t see it for the first time again.
There is an alternate ending where he stays in the afterlife helping others pass on while he waits for Angel to return. If you think about it, it makes sense. Angel ended up there because she wanted to thank the person that gave her their heart and stayed for so long she learned to use incredible abilities. One of the things Yuzuru says near the end is he would of like to stay there with her to help new people pass on but she passes on anyway. His "heart" (the girl he loved) was missing again and he chose to stay. Making an almost perfect loop of both of them staying in the afterlife waiting for the other to come back. This makes more sense if the theory that he is the programmer is true. He is literally the creator of this world and has chosen to stay and keep watch over it, basically being the god of the afterlife.
13:48 that highfive right that says it all. It really is just a empty yet fulfilling moment and really was the thing that broke me. How many times have we each gone through something exactly like this and didn't realize it? When you high fived or had that last bit of closure before someone is gone forever? It truly is a humbling moment and really just made me appreciate the show to its fullest.
I watched this show like 4 years ago and still remembered the twist that the heart he gave away was given to her. So I saw this reaction and was like, “Oh, I remember this.” I really, really tried not to but I ended up crying again. The fact this makes me cry 4 years later is just proof this is one of the best anime of all time.
The last ep of angel beats always makes me cry no matter how many times I see it 😭 thanks for reacting to this series!! It was really great to see. Sometimes animes that are this old and short don’t really get reacted to anymore 🥺💞
At the end, when you see the stadium from the top, you can see a white light going up to the sky, it's kanade's soul 😔 Nobody noticed that in the anime

And I'm trying to make habit of buying my nieces dangos each bday untill she has a dango family plushies because of clannad
Another theory about Otonashi is that he remained tied to this world so long as his other donated organs were still functioning inside their recipients and it wasn't until the last of them expired that he was able to move on. Something that got me with this episode is that from the start of the show, Kanade was always shown to be a very capable and violent fighter. Now at the end, she's like an introverted little girl hiding behind Yuri. EH???
That two hour drive you guys took I'm sure was much needed. It was fun watching you guys experience "Angel Beats" for the first time (especially since it came out 10 years ago!). On my first run through, it was certainly a roller coaster, that kept me constantly off kilter. It has been one of my go to suggestions when people ask for anime suggestions, and a exciting conversation starter for other fans of the series when I bump into them at cons. The both of you are awesome, articulate, very detailed, and succinct, with your comments and critiques, and are well supported. Keep up the good work, and I look forward to seeing more of it. My Opinion. Otonashi is the programer indeed. After he died, he creat the world for the teen death. And Kanade died for some seconds (heart failure or something), she came to this world and met Otonashi. Otonashi fell in love with her but when she got the donner's heart, she came back alive and leave the world. Otonashi became crazy. And he became ( or turn himself to) an NPC, wait for his love(Kanade) die in actual world to meet her again. And he maybe delete the memorry after he die to keep normal (remember the guy in 12 said the world bugged when Love appear?). So he delete his memorry(love) to keep the world going, but he cant stand the loneliness without love so he turn himself to NPC. Wait for the love one to come again.
One thing to note about Jun Maeda's writing, back story never goes to waste. We're talking about a guy who show up to his job interview with a freaking visual novel script he wrote to prove his work He's also one hell of a music composer. Check out his album collaboration with artist Yanagi Nagi. Flaming June (Yanagi Nagi x Jun Maeda), even in his song, they tell story, including one song which is basically just sound like someone reciting a day to day diary. Please at least check out these songs from the album, Muteki no Soldier, Last Smile, Kooru Yume and my personal favorite, Hero no Jouken. Every single "song+story" in the album, could've easily been made into a good anime.
I love Angel Beats. It's so good. I have watched it multiple times over the past several years, and I've watched multiple reaction series of it too, and I still can't stop myself from tearing up during the final scene every single time. I don't know how the show managed to mix such ridiculous slapstick comedy and such deep, emotional moments in the same series while keeping it still short and tying up the storyline pretty nicely. If you haven't already watched them on your own, you should check out the OVA and the alternate ending. Both are fantastic.

Edit: Another theory regarding the programmer,What if Kannade is the programmer,She was living as a normal npc before Yuri and Hinata discovered her to not be an npc.She was shy so she didn't tell the program glasses guy abt who she was waiting for so he assumed it was her lover......
oh…… I watched many times this part. but I cried😢 I really enjoyed your Angel beats reaction videos. Thank you! I looking forward next video! I'll support you forever :)
Yuzuru is the programmer who created that world. He left the world and saved a copy of himself as an NPC there. ( He wear NPC uniform and doesn’t have any memory in ep1).
Wow that's fire , I'm started to know that the programmer they were talking abt in eps 12 is probably otonashi , but to think insane otonashi turn himself into an NPC and wait for kanade is so sad bro , the amnesia is make sense in this theory

I have no clue how yins didn't cry cause when they started disappearing I started balling my eyes out and no matter how many times I watch this anime I cannot watch it without crying
Hey I think you mislabeled the Finale Episode. It's episode 13 and not 12 Edit:Also will you react to the OVA's and the mini-ova that takes place in between where Kanade passed on and where he gets reincarnated? Another Edit:Also the VN gives more explanation of why they don't leave the school grounds and picks up the part where Otonashi gets to know the characters better like Yui Also my favorite character is Shiina or Kanade
It always hits me in the feels knowing that Otonashi went through alot in his life that he lived. He's constantly helping others even after his death (the donor part and the afterlife). It really did sadden me knowing such a kind person went through all of that but I'm glad at the very end he found the salvation he needed and hopefully everyone else and his sister as well.
Plot twist, since we know that Angel Beats is actually a movie in the real life Charlotte/Kami-sama Ni Hatta universe, the ending is basically the actors or something meeting up in real life.
what I really like about KEY anime is that all of them has this bittersweet feeling that is very funny and happy and the same time so sad :c but that is great! anyway great reaction!
Yeah the time-line issue is considered a plot-hole since its never explained. But its easy to come up with an explanation like you guys did. It doesnt really destroy the story, but its still a plot-hole in a sense.
One little detail that I absolutely love, but is hard to catch. In that stinger, when reborn!Kanade and reborn!Otanashi meet, Kanade is humming a song. A very specific song - Iwasawa's "My Song", the ballad Iwasawa sang in episode 3 before _she_ passed on. Looks like she's been able to keep singing her songs, even in her new life!
Trip off of the the Op song title "Your Heart, My beats" then, trip off the name of the anime "Angel Beats"....🤯. My second favorite Anime of all time, and, your welcome 😁
Jun Maeda, the scriptwriter of this work, later confessed to the media that he had severe heart disease. Also he said that he was in a situation where he couldn't live without a heart transplant like Kanade. I hope for his health.
About time-related "plot-hole", it is left to speculation and there is no "official" explanation, but most agreed theory is that the world we see these kids in, is not affected by our timeline, meaning - time is irrelevant there, meaning - you might encounter people from both, past and future in the same place. You don't age and die in that world, so you are no longer connected to the timeline of the world of the living. Consider this place as a purgatory or limbo.
Idk about that, since this is a universe where a purgatory to help people come to terms with their early death is a thing, we can assume that god exists as well to some extent. In order for Kanade to have been fulfilled, she would have had to meet a person that was already fulfilled, but Otonashi cannot get there because he was already fulfilled. So that means that time does not matter in this equation at all, since her meeting him could only really happen if god somehow interviened and placed otonashi there himself through her wishes, despite him being fulfilled. In other words, even if this purgatory place is not affected by the regular flow of time, Otonashi couldn't have gotten there because he was fulfilled already. Thus something else must've caused him to get there.
I think he did drift for awhile...did you notice he had a razor flip PHONE....I remember those originally came out around 1997/1998. But probably came out earlier in Japan...the technology for cell phones and lap tops are 5 years ahead of the U.S.....still are. I always have my friend send me my newest stuff from Japan before it hits Canada...now about 3 years before our market. Have a good day 💕🇨🇦
The timelines arent messed up. Otonashi was there from the very beginning he was the original programmer. He turned into an NPC causing his amnesia(he didnt die due to head related injuries so there is no other explanation for the amnesia) he stops being an npc sometime after kanade appears but doesnt regain his memories. He always wanted to help someone but he never got to know whether his actions made any difference or not when he was the programmer and hence he couldnt pass on. But ehh idk cant say anything for sure. The last scene where they were "reincarnated" Was probably a dream
I think it was her wish to thank him that brought him there after her, since without him she would never be fulfilled, and I believe that purgatory place's whole premise was a chance for everyone to get fulfilled. It also pairs well with him not seemingly having any reason to be there, he was already fulfilled. His whole purpose was to help these people, and that "purpose" was different from their type of fulfillment. Perhaps just an act of god that made it possible to bring him back, who knows.
Finished it today. Wow! Didn't expect that ending! Kinda reminded me of the ending of "Your Name". There was a recognition there at the end. I believe that was their own version of Heaven.
I always thought he might have been the original programmer because time seems to flow weird. He died years before Kanade but she was there for years and TK and Shiina feel like they are from diffrent times. TK maybe somewhere from 60s to late 70s and Shiina from almost feudalistic japan. Also the guild guy with a beard talked about the war being over which could mean he's from wartimes. So it could be possible that that world is in a sort of long time loop.
i don't know how I ended up here, I speak Spanish xd But seeing Angel Beats again after, I don't know 10 years and feeling the same as I felt that time and seeing that it continues to broadcast the same is beautiful 🥹♥️ How nice that they were able to enjoy it together
Glad you both enjoyed it. It isn't perfect, and I still wish it had been given just a few more episodes to flesh out some of the side characters a bit more (I remember being super disappointed when they just say "Oh, everyone left already"). That said, this is still one of my favorites (mainly because of that gut punch reveal). It's implied that Yuzuru stayed for a while, but eventually decided he was ready to move on. And while some criticize the show's "plot hole", I think it works here as limbo has no real concept of time and thus the m.c. arriving here after Kanade makes (some) sense. Another (somewhat accepted) theory is that Yuzuru was the programmer, and that the show starts with him reverting from his NPC state. I personally don't think it fits correctly, but it's interesting to think about. Anyway, sorry for the paragraph, looking forward to future discussions.

I found.this video of yours way too late so you might not see my comment but if you enjoyed Angel beats, you should try watching PLASTIC MEMORIES. Its one of the greatest masterpiece out there. You won't be disappointed even just in the 1st episode. Looking forward to your reaction video.
20:30 even thou their are many theories that he was a programmer and it’s just a constant time loop that theory has been debunked many times. What we do know is that after he help Kanade pass on he stayed becoming the new student council president helping other ppl pass on for an indiscriminate amount of time, We know this from a short epilogue video with some blu ray copies of the show. Now as to why Kanade was their before him even thou he died first is quite simple. He wasn’t soposed to be there in the first place. The program is made to help ppl move on, although Otonashi life was cut short he didn’t have deep regrets like the others. But god knew that Kanade would never be able to move on until she was able to thank Otonashi so he sent him into the program. Now I’m guessing that throughout his time in the program and the trauma of watching all of his friend pass on he decide that he did have unfinished business and stayed to help other in the school until he too was finally satisfied and moved on. Or this could all simply be bogus and time just works ass backwards in purgatory who know I’m just spitballing here
Kanada was there because she was given a heart transplant but didn't know the donner so she was stuck in a coma after the surgery. By finding him and thanking him her regret was fulfilled. He was brought into the world so he could help everyone move on especially Kanade. He in turn got to leave after her because he learned that he helped her by getting his heart after the accident. That's what kept him from getting trapped there in the end.
Out of all the shounen anime I’ve watched, only a few them really left a mark on me, but Drama animes, they all hit me tremendously and really made me appreciate about life more
I just finished watching the series and mate I'm like full on crying and I don't cry much over anime but that ending tho had me in tears, its a sad but happy ending and everyone has moved on with there lives but sad cause of there goodbyes that's what got me crying
I just finished it and I'm in tears...this one series with only 13 episodes, each being less than 30 mins long...taught me so much...and Even the final clip...they were still able to meet in their other lives...no anime has made me cry this much since Assassination Classroom...this anime is by far not of the best I've seen in terms of plot and meaning... (I also believe that Otonashi is the programmer but instead of becoming and NPC he was given another life, another chance to meet the one he loves, "Kanade" and that cycle will continue and they will forever meet until one day they stay together forever)
The reason why Otonashi is There, is because Kanade Wants to thanks him, this world is made for Fulfill people's Desire/wish that they can't do in their life. So when Kanade wants to thanks him thats what will she got, same goes for Yuri, she wants to be a good Big sister and now she got a Whole familly to take care of.

@Gonzalo Puente
Actually on a second thought, he isn’t the programmer. The manga reveals that everyone who enters the world wears the NPC uniform. The Battlefront members just changed to different ones they designed to show they were different and. Also, if they become NPCs and regain their consciousness, they don’t get amnesia. Takamatsu and Yuri became NPCs but they regained their memories after breaking out of their NPC states
And about Otonashi coming in later than Angel, everyone else has this theory but mine is a little different.
God works in ways that we cannot understand in the moment but only after seeing the results do we appreciate the ways in which he works.

hahahah saaame so many years passed and I still can't do this
Not many anime has this beautiful sad sad ending with even more sad song that makes you wanna die in agony of peace.
I can't forget this scene
this is my third time and I still broke
This anime makes me cry no matter how many times I watch it. I freaking love it.
Same
I try so hard not to, but it's useless
today i started angel beats and finished same day so today but it doesnt make me cry idkk why just the end when everyone saying goodbye maked me feel a bit sad and nothing else
This show actually made me change my mind on the organ donor. When I first had that option, I put "no." This contributed to changing my mind and putting yes. If I die tragically, then I want that tragedy to lead to a miracle for someone else.
raumenaguilar samee
My theory is that Yuzuru's soul moved on to the after life once the last person who received one of his organs passed away. This would explain why the person who had his heart got there before him and why he was there even after having a fulfilling life. He was only there so Kanade had the chance to thank him and be at peace.
If you guys like this anime, I very recommend you guys to watch Charlotte, and actually, the writer of Charlotte and Angel beats is the same, so yeah, I strongly recommend this anime to you guys
We are watching it soon!
YASSS, MY FAVORITE ANIME OF ALL TIME
NAO TOMORI 😍😍😍
Nice
Clannad and kanon too, even air tv
I just finished angel beats this morning at 1am. Imma be honest I cried. And I don’t ever cry. It was hella wholesome in the end but I was so sad lmao. Defiantly an amazing series. The music was beautiful. My only regret is I can’t see it for the first time again.
Yeah this was such a great show, we are really glad so many people recommended it to us!
Well maybe you’ll wake up in the afterlife, having forgotten all about it
Then you’ll get to see it for the first time again
It got my heart pounding
SoulKnight Dude I just finished it and cried for the first time in my life
Water when I said it got my heart pounding I held so many emotions back I would be able to cry any moment
Easily my favorite
The last ep of angel beats always makes me cry no matter how many times I see it 😭 thanks for reacting to this series!! It was really great to see. Sometimes animes that are this old and short don’t really get reacted to anymore 🥺💞
At the end, when you see the stadium from the top, you can see a white light going up to the sky, it's kanade's soul 😔 Nobody noticed that in the anime
YA! BRO YOU RIGHT. EVEN I ALSO NOT NOTICE AT FIRST
I noticed it the second time I rewatched the last episode, it was pretty sad
I noticed it the first time loved it and cried like a bitch for 3months
Amazing journey so far.
Still there is one special episode known as another epilogue and 2 ova hope you'll react to them too.
Now that you've watched the show, what's your opinion on its title "Angel Beats" ?
Its name is literally a spoiler!
Haha a very clever name indeed! we will have to talk about that in our final thoughts video

Wowwwwwwwwwwwwww I legit just finished it. I wonder y it did name that

I had a constant stream of tears throughout that entire show.
Pretty sure they said during their last live stream that they already saw it. Or, at least Carson saw it. One of those.
Ah I cried again... and I highly recommend Clannad Afterstory (but you might want to watch Clannad first)! I watched it right after I finished angel beats and man, I thought angel beats hit hard already, but little did I know...
For real! I honestly watched it out of order because after story and agel beats where both on Netflix years back. I saw clannad after after story but after story still fcked my souls and emotions like no other anime ever has. But yeah I have angel beats and clannad both on blue ray. And I'm trying to make habit of buying my nieces dangos each bday untill she has a dango family plushies because of clannad
@Mary Ji
Really? Funny how I never broke a tear watching Clannad 😂
I recommend Steins Gate!!! You guys would enjoy it alot
This is why it was called "My Soul, Your Beats"
Another theory about Otonashi is that he remained tied to this world so long as his other donated organs were still functioning inside their recipients and it wasn't until the last of them expired that he was able to move on.
Something that got me with this episode is that from the start of the show, Kanade was always shown to be a very capable and violent fighter. Now at the end, she's like an introverted little girl hiding behind Yuri. EH???
That two hour drive you guys took I'm sure was much needed. This is an anime that really makes you reflect on life and every aspect of it, and so you just need to take a moment and let it all wash over you.
Nice video guys. I first watched this anime about 2 years ago. I've rewatched a few times ever since. Hits me just as hard as the first every time. Found your video by just searching for clips from the finale.
(I also binged your Kaguya S2 series)
You probably have a lot of anime on your docket already, but if you enjoyed "Angel Beats" I cannot suggest "Plastic Memories" (13 EP, 1 Season) enough.
I was watching this and I was literally drowning in my own tears-
I hope they make like another season about those two meeting again and stuff.
This anime is like 10 years old there’s like a 1% chance the creator is gunna be like hmm oh yeah I remember that anime I made a while back how about I finish it
We're talking about a guy who show up to his job interview with a freaking visual novel script he wrote to prove his work
He's also one hell of a music composer.
I am an 18 yo boy (6,1" tall and 180 pounds), who doesnt even distort a mine when some of my bones did break or some really bad things happend in my past... but this...I literally cried so hard that the neighbors heared me...
The same at the ending of assasination Classroom. And you guys are sitting there without crying a little bit... 😂
I dont even know why iam crying this hard... eventually because of my very pronounced empathy or because I learned something really valuable.
I dont cry very often, but since then, iam much happier with some important findings.
I am ashamed to say that, but it feels good to let it all out.😀
Remember that Easter egg where yuu from Charlotte was watching angel beats in episode 7
If any anime makes you cry.....then don't ever forget it.
Coz only a masterpiece makes you cry.......
So if we put it up in one sentence...
"You know an anime is very good if it ever makes you cry."
Update comment: watch through all of it cried multiple.times again. Gosh I love this series, and I like that yall listened to the music of the series afterwards. I also always listen to the music once in a while. I lost my shiz when kanade disappeared just ball'ed the first time. Thanks for the journey and reactions. This series I will never forget it.
Some questions abt the show
1.Favorite character?
2.One character whose backstory would have been interesting but didn't get a backstory?
3.Most relatable character?
4.Ur thought on such anime which is not based on good vs evil but is more grounded?
5.Ur predictions if there is ever an ova where all of the members of the afterlife meet in real life?
6.Otonashi and Kannade or Hinata and Yui?The better couple...
7.Ur thoughts on Yuri's growth?
Edit:
Another theory regarding the programmer,What if Kannade is the programmer,She was living as a normal npc before Yuri and Hinata discovered her to not be an npc.She was shy so she didn't tell the program glasses guy abt who she was waiting for so he assumed it was her lover......
Another interesting theory for this show! Thanks for leaving us some questions this will be super helpful for our discussion/final thoughts video
Thank you Celia for introducing me to this masterpiece, I hope you're happy wherever you are!
oh…… I watched many times this part. but I cried😢 I really enjoyed your Angel beats reaction videos. Thank you! I looking forward next video! I'll support you forever :)
There's a 2 minutes episode continuation that shows what happened to Otonashi.
They were all in a coma and they all woke up in the real world searching for each other
otonashi is like the prophet who came to lead people into the right path
4 years ago this was the first anime to make me cry and today it has once again made me cry. its also to this day the only form of media to make me cry.
That ending hit me so hard back then, when they start disappearing one by one
there is one more....its a short story called "Angel Beats Another Epilogue" if you guys haven't watch it yet
Did they noticed why the title is called "Angel Beats!" and the opening's title is called "My Soul, Your Beats!"?
Thank you for your beautiful reaction. Its not easy to find people reacting to this kind of older anime.
every time I watch the ending EVERY TIME IT HURTS never getting over this one
I've literally seen this anime 4 times, and with this video, 5, and i can't ever not cry on it, this anime always reminds me to live my life or F
How did you guys not choke on your tears? I gotta admit I've seen this anime when I was 15, yet this final episodes still makes me ugly cry until this day.
i love that when it ends and everyone disappears on the ending you can see that kanade and otonashu were looking at each other from the start
I have no clue how yins didn't cry cause when they started disappearing I started balling my eyes out and no matter how many times I watch this anime I cannot watch it without crying
I try my hardest not to every time and I just can't keep it together
There were some things they sort of glossed over, but for a short-run 2010 anime, I think it did a pretty good job of telling its story
Every time I watch this. I always cry.
Hey I think you mislabeled the Finale Episode. It's episode 13 and not 12
Edit:Also will you react to the OVA's and the mini-ova that takes place in between where Kanade passed on and where he gets reincarnated?
Another Edit:Also the VN gives more explanation of why they don't leave the school grounds and picks up the part where Otonashi gets to know the characters better like Yui
Also my favorite character is Shiina or Kanade
It always hits me in the feels knowing that Otonashi went through alot in his life that he lived. He's constantly helping others even after his death (the donor part and the afterlife). It really did sadden me knowing such a kind person went through all of that but I'm glad at the very end he found the salvation he needed and hopefully everyone else and his sister as well.
This shows a deep meaning to life. When you really think about it, well written great anime
I'm impressed by the seriousness within the comedy.
Plot twist, since we know that Angel Beats is actually a movie in the real life Charlotte/Kami-sama Ni Hatta universe, the ending is basically the actors or something meeting up in real life.
It still baffles me to this day how they didn't cry.
It's hard for some people to physically sob, but you know they're frigging destroyed because their eyes still tear up. I'm the same.
麻枝准 is a incredible composer and writer.
All of his works are surprised and having deep meanings in it.
what I really like about KEY anime is that all of them has this bittersweet feeling that is very funny and happy and the same time so sad :c but that is great! anyway great reaction!
Yeah the time-line issue is considered a plot-hole since its never explained. But its easy to come up with an explanation like you guys did. It doesnt really destroy the story, but its still a plot-hole in a sense.
Angel Beats!は最終回のEDでトドメ刺してくる
Have you guys seen the special episode? You might want to watch it too. It's just a short 4mins long or something.
two sadest parts of Angel Beats!
1. Otonashi's history
2. Ending
I hope for his health.
plastic memories
is a loving anime you guys should watch
Have a good day 💕🇨🇦
Looks like it's time to watch the next series by this studio. Watch Charlotte
We have a poll for which show to watch next in our patreon and Charlotte is on it!
Yeah Chalotte is the best anime
Angel Beats and Charlotte is written by the same Author Jun Maeda
The timelines arent messed up. Otonashi was there from the very beginning he was the original programmer. He turned into an NPC causing his amnesia(he didnt die due to head related injuries so there is no other explanation for the amnesia) he stops being an npc sometime after kanade appears but doesnt regain his memories.
He always wanted to help someone but he never got to know whether his actions made any difference or not when he was the programmer and hence he couldnt pass on.
But ehh idk
cant say anything for sure.
The last scene where they were "reincarnated" Was probably a dream
Plastic Memories if you haven't watched yet, love to see your reactions
I think it was her wish to thank him that brought him there after her, since without him she would never be fulfilled, and I believe that purgatory place's whole premise was a chance for everyone to get fulfilled. It also pairs well with him not seemingly having any reason to be there, he was already fulfilled.
His whole purpose was to help these people, and that "purpose" was different from their type of fulfillment. Perhaps just an act of god that made it possible to bring him back, who knows.
I fucking bawled my eyes out when kanade disappeared and yuzuru started clutching his shoulders
Just clawing away at the air
Finished it today. Wow! Didn't expect that ending! Kinda reminded me of the ending of "Your Name". There was a recognition there at the end. I believe that was their own version of Heaven.
actually it was confirmed they reincarnated and that was showing some of their memories returning
Thank you for watching Angel Beats!
It is a very good work.

i am not sure if you guys have already seen it but i know there's an episode 14 which is an OVA, if i am not mistaken.
hope you guys watch it, just to complete the series... 😊
Probably won't see this but there is a manga about them all after they all came back to life called Angel Beats: Tabisuru Tenshi-Chan where its Kanade having a vague memory of Otonashi and searching for him post rebirth as she encounters the others on her journey to find him
today i started angel beats and finished same day so today but it doesnt make me cry idkk why just the end when everyone saying goodbye maked me feel a bit sad and nothing else
I remember when you guys first uploaded this :(
I was waiting for it so much
The most emotional scene
yuzuru and kanade both were reborn, he recgonized the melody that newborn kanade made and they learned to know each other again, beautiful.
and yeah, yuzuru died long ago before kanade, as you read, kanade got the heart after yuzurus death.
kanade kinda pulled yuzuru into the afterworld, to thank him for the life she got because of him.
but kanade didnt live that long with that heart
This anime is a haymaker right here. That ending hits you right in the feels hard.
I found.this video of yours way too late so you might not see my comment but if you enjoyed Angel beats, you should try watching PLASTIC MEMORIES. Its one of the greatest masterpiece out there. You won't be disappointed even just in the 1st episode. Looking forward to your reaction video.
The title : Angel Beats... the meaning hits you.
Or this could all simply be bogus and time just works ass backwards in purgatory who know I’m just spitballing here
People around the community have a theory that otanashi was the programmer and that’s why kanade met otanashi later as he returns from beings a NPC
Did you read Heaven's Door ? It's the prequel manga
