I think he's laying on the white lotus, which symbolically represents awakening and a state of pure mind. It totally makes sense and it is related with the song message/the lyrics.
Yeah this was the correct choice by far. Their selection was good but nothing came close in terms of quality to this. The song is just perfect in every way and the live performance was just absolutely captivating. The staging was perfect and even if his vocals were not the strongest technically they worked for the style of the vocals and the song overall and were pretty much flawless. He is a captivating performer and this performance style works perfectly for the song. The dancers were also captivating. Also the lighting, smoke and camerawork really made the song work. Everything just worked in the best way. This song is still perfection for me. One of my faves of the year so far. My second behind Latvia 🇱🇻 and in front of Czechia 🇨🇿, all perfection to me. So happy that my fave from the selection won. This could be a potential winner on May if done perfectly.

We all should wake up and try to do something finally. to disconnect from the unrealistic artificial sphere. Luke is a graduated professor of English literature btw :) There is a great influence of existentialism poetry.
This song is a critique of the modern society and contemporary world. He makes connection with a video games where young people (and everyone else) are, artistically speaking, controlled by someone else and are just observers of all the horror happening around the Globe. He uses himself as a metaphor - (he only wants to sleep), as it is the easiest thing to do - to oversleep all the tragedies and to wake up in a better world. If you carefully look the performance - you will see that they are dancing as zombies as they are under anesthesia not reacting on this "world on fire" as he notices. However, the message of the song is quite opposite - we should all wake up, we should react, we should have more conscience and sapience that he calls on, especially to decision makers. At the end of the song he "releases" those "controlled" masses in order to become more active, more energetic and they together react - walk, make changes together. The "hello" part was written inspired by the Sims game, where the characters wave the player when they want something, instead of taking action, so he uses a parallel with people today.
Im liking it so far although strobe warnings deffo needed in liverpool as someone who has had seizures i thought yesterday it was gonna affect me but luckily not i could see the flashing lights off my phone. But imm also getting if croatia 2019 and a little bit of Norway 2021 went to the dark side this would be that song but 90% the dream and 10% fallen angel
