I have a question did they just change all the graphics to Unreal Engine 5 or did they have to remake every item in Unreal Engine 5?
My favorite parts are anytime you stopped or went slowly through an area so I could just take in all the detail. There's so much! Like the lighting, the shadows, the reflected lighting, the textures on the couch and pillows, and the reflections on the wood floorboards, every pebble has its own little shadow, light filtering in through trees, the shimmering snow, the embers on builds in the fires, the effects under water! It's nuts to look at all the details! It's so good so clean so pretty!

As an old chapter 1 player, after not playing for years and coming back to see this. God damn did Epic Games nail the look of this game. The progression from old graphics to new, while it still being the same game is insane. Proof that we don't always need sequels, just good updates.

Everyone always talks about the old graphics, and yes I prefer the original graphics and artstyle over the chapter 2 and 3 versions but WOW. They nailed the artstyle, lighting textures everything. This is the best the game has looked in ages

As much as I was looking forward to a new season, I had no idea it was going to be THIS good. I picked up the game heavily when Zero Build was finally dropped, but even after delving into the history of previous maps and whatnot, this is the absolute best one yet. I though DX12 would still be in beta, but whew boy was I wrong. The game looks STUNNING. Each small rock has it's own shadow, and the lighting on everything else is breathtaking. Even the individual spokes on the wheels of the dirt bikes cast accurate shadows. I'm running it in 4K (or 2K on my PC) via GeForce Now 3080 and I'm still blown away each time I drop into a match. Hell, even the lobby looks great.
Graphics aside, I'm adoring the new map, and despite seeing others complain I like the weapons a lot too. Battle Pass is 150% on FIRE this time around and I don't feel like I'm dragging my feet completing it. Bravo to the team who went behind making it happen.

@@DiskJockeyJi can share mine. I have a ryzen 7 5800x and an rtx 3070. I run fort ite at competitive settings and manige to get 240 fps locked at 1440p. I also have 32gb 3600mghz ram. Forza Horizon 5 can i run at 1440p ultra 100+ fps

There's a noticeable difference even on old gen consoles. It's kinda crazy how they updated the graphics so much while still managing to keep a stable framerate.
I think on old gen it's more about it being a style overhaul instead of being a tech improvement. Technically low-end consoles and devices still use all the previous technologies. But the game looks different because they chose a slightly more realistic artstyle in general.
The ps4 has a huge noticeable change, it feels like the delay isn’t that noticeable and manageable, feels like I’m actually running on 90 fps and just plainly better.
I wish I didn’t have shitty lag spikes every time to see what else I could do

UE 5's last update gives better foliage tech with the LESS processing power, because wizards. Light now works more realisticall, as well as reflections and shadows, these are some of the most complex things to do in games, especially with real-time. Notice the clock face had real-time reflections of the character. This is generally NOT done for performance reasons. There are still some non-reflection surfaces that would reflect IRL, the black orb thing in particular has no reflection of the character, despite a reflection updating from breaking the wall.
Deadass... fortnite looks better than most AAA MMORPGS from the last 10 years.

Finally, a proper showcase of the new visual flare Unreal Engine 5 brings to the game! Most people were simply playing the game with the new features enabled, rather than take time to really SHOW the viewer. Great job!

It's incredible. Absolutely amazing. I remember logging in Sunday morning and loading into the map. Even in the lobby the game just felt... different. Wild how much of a graphical improvement occurred

The NVIDIA CEO said that graphic cards are close to their technical limit referring to the transistors and only believes in AI making better images out of the same computing power. So basically the RTX 4090 is one of the last/strongest computing power graphic cards forever, the rest will be AI faking and tricking of the images.
The way light realistically bleeds through the treeleaves is just like in real life. Lumen is basically simulating ray tracing in real time. That along with nanite proves there are gonna be a lot of great games coming up in the future on unreal
Yeah, Epic mentioned a while back that HALF of all announced games at that point were being made in UE5

To me that house on fire section was the best,the fire,the burns.Everything was so hauntingly beautiful and realistic.

As someone who played Fortnite from Season 3 to Season 9 and then stopped playing and only played like once every other month just to check out the game and how it’s changed, I’ve been playing this new season every day. It reminds me so much of the good old days fortnite when I used to play and I love it so far.
The light when you are inside the garage looking outside is soo good.
the falling snow and everything makes it so much better, how they even put glint on the snow like when the sun is shining across it irl, the added grass makes it even better too, this game isnt even fortnite anymore and im here for it

The Quality looks incredible especially those tiny details you’d be looking at closely
But the bad thing that comes out of this is performance drops. It looks and feels around 60-90 and with a rtx 4090

@@iamnotcheif3787 well I suppose since youtube only supports 60 fps anyway they didn't find any reason to uncap the fps and running recording software as well as max 4k settings, I'd assume that it produces quite a bit of heat and they didn't want any thermal throttle or something.
The lighting occlusion, god rays, caustics and the reflections are on point for a multiplayer battle royal game!!!!

I play using a 3090 RTX and agree it looks great....the problem is that people who play with it on toaster settings can 'see' other players better which kinds ruins the whole thing

is anyone else having issues with locating chests? directional sound has gotten worse in that regard but everything else sounds good so im confused
I feel like my footstep sounds are to loud personally. Though I will say that one game where I was running on dirt and going into a house and on the way in instead of going around it I jumped over a mailbox and caught it for one step instead of full clearing it and it had the tinny ring of the mailbox being hit definitely caught my ear.

I was streaming yesterday with max graphics and raytracing and I just spent the whole time admiring how pretty the game looked. The performance this season is also really good. I was getting 85fps lows with everything maxed out and raytracing on
It is really incredible what one update in this game can do! This looks so freaking beautiful. The graphics are now a reason to start to play Fortnite again!
They did an amazing job with Chapter 4! The sound, colors, shadows it's all top notch! Very impressed so far! Only 60 fps too you got there, image on 120 fps :-)

Whats crazy is that this doesn't look too different from what it looks like on my next-gen xbox. Epic really did a good job on the graphics but also optimizing it without jurastically changing anything.

They kinda messed up the lighting in some places. Like some shadows are way too dark. So dark performance mode gives you an advantage cause you can see more clearer

It's a beast you'll love it! I had it capped at 60fps but it prolly wouldn't get much more with full RTX enabled, maxed settings and 4K res. That's pushing it haha

I am highly impressed by the optimizations Fortnite has, all the trees , grass and even 3d rocks. All of that on highest graphics with detailed textures. Just wow!

My 3070 Ti build holds up to nearly 100 FPS in 1080p with these settings on. Capping at 60 FPS, it runs well. In 1440p, it reaches 60 FPS, but barely.

Fortnite changed so much. I used to be able to run it with an old Radeon 2000 back in chapter 1. With this card, the game doesn't start now a day.
