It is a studio recording, they have a lot of post production before they release live official videos, they are saving that goldmine for the DVD/BluRay. this whole production is about them returning to earth, and on April 1st and 2nd will be the beginning of the new BABYMETAL this year going forward, whatever they do, I am all in. btw, the disciples were the key holders to the gates of the Metal Kingdom which was opened at the start to reveal the thrones. So yeah, they kinda put on big elaborate stage shows in Japan, usually setting up the theme for that year or just to close one chapter and open a new one. It is basically musical theater, and when they scale back the theatrics for smaller shows, they amaze with their energy and dancing in front of a thunderous wall of metal, supplied expertly by the Kami band.
The "tridents" aren't tridents but lances resembling the lancea longini from the anime show "Neon Genesis Evangelion" (BABYMETAL has already used symbolism from this show in their early days) and the "keys" are staffs with the infinity symbol or just the abbreviation of "other one" (double o, their upcoming concept album is named "The Other One") on top...
This video was recorded at the concerts at Makuhari Messe in Tokyo on the 28th and 29th of January 2023; the video is from the live show, but the audio is the studio version. This song serves both as the first track on the album and the concert opener, so its intended to sound grand and cinematic, because its all about setting the scene for story that follows.
I was lucky enough to be there for the performance on both nights and it was beyond spectacular. Our Fox Queen Su has never looked or sounded so majestic.
If the audio was live it would say (Official Live) in the video title. This is the studio track. They do this a lot with live concerts as the music video. Gimme Chocolate, Papaya etc.
Nice reaction. The majestic return of Babymetal to their Metal Kingdom. The stage in front of a live audience. Su looked amazing singing from her throne. Moa learning the death stare. But we still got her smirk. Because Moa has got to be Moa. Besides everyone wants to see her smile with those dimples. I know it's just me, but it sounds like she's saying Moooo A o o oh. I would chant Moa's name if I was there. Like everyone else I wish I could have been there too. Babymetal knows how to put on a memorable show. They've won awards for their concerts. IMO they're going to be in line for another one this year. Babymetal everything you want in music and somethings you didn't know you needed.

It's been really a while since your last BM reaction iirc, always nice to see old BM fans and reactors coming back to hear more of them, this time returning with a more mature sound and a new BM side we've never seen before, but i got bad news you, this isn't live sound.
This is why BabyMetal have no match among any other Japanese artists, top notch worldwide. Many others are finding Game Of Thrones resemblance on this stage setup, it looks insane. The ten prophets are holding crosiers with "The Other One" logo which is similar to the infinite symbol OO and is the title of upcoming 4th album. The girls are carrying some kind of trident, if you know MoaMetal you know you got be careful with her. 🔱

At the end of January at Makuhari Messe they held two great live shows returning to the stage after almost two years. and by far they meet up my expectations with this epic live performance and top notch production.
SuMetal and MoaMetal showing why they're a queen and princess deserving their thrones. The cinematic drone shots are just incredible.
We were expecting this live proshot version but we'll have to wait next month for live sound.
We got so many big news and announcements, a new official member is coming (most likely Momoko Okazaki, the one who has been performing with them all these years and latest live concerts) next live shows in April 1 (Fox Day) when returning once again with another headlining shows at PIA ARENA MM Yokohama. Also they performed with a new BM mirror unit coming from another world of this metalverse, so we're guessing maybe some of the older kawaii metal songs they don't play anymore will be back with this new unit, so stay tuned for more but like always OTFGK.
There was some minor issues when SuMetal was singing this live a little bit off, apparently an IEM issue or something but is all good coz we all know it's been a while since performing live and is the premiere of this song, pretty sure next live shows will be better.

Great reaction. 'Metal Kingdom' is the opening track on the album which is being released in March - so of course they used it for the epic theatrical opening number at their concerts two weeks ago - their first live shows in nearly 2 years.
This was the live performance but with the studio audio - the video was released less than a week after the concerts they filmed it at, so it is understandable why it has the studio audio.
We will have to wait for the DVD for the live audio.
Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 This video is from Makuhari shows on Jan.28 /29. I witnessed both shows at the venue. You saw one octagonal movable / elevatable stage but actually there were two identical stages for more surprising production. Several drones with camera were flying around all over the venue.
Once this opening song by Su and Moa got started, I had goosebumps all over my body. The show was held after the almost 2-year long hiatus after all. Seriously many of audience were moved to tears and/or dropped their jaws when the gigantic fox wall opened and the thrones came out. Yeah! I chanted all through the song. ♪ Oh oh oh o o o ♪. What a happy experience!! The Kami band was playing on the east stage that was not captured in this video.
After this grave opening, 3 girls performed 12 songs with Momoko Avenger. Did you see 3 (not 2) thrones at 03:51 in your video? Yeah, BM will change. The official 3rd girl is going to be unveiled in the next shows in Yokohama on April 1/2. Yes, at last ✌
