I wonder if the name Pied Piper refers to the the fact that he has two personalities? The Helpful Hero and the Vindictive Villain

Damn I’ve got chills just from the first 10 seconds!
There was a deeper story as to why the boy with the limp wasn't taken away: he and his mother were kind to the Piper, giving him shelter in their home, and sharing their food with him. The mother even tried to persuade the mayor and townspeople to keep their promise to pay the Piper, but they refused. She offered the Piper what little money she had, but he told her to keep her money, touched by her gesture. On the fateful day, he bid them goodbye, and told them that he would never forget their kindness.

This story gave me the creeps when I first heard it In 8th grade. Like what happened to the kids after?? The mystery of it is chilling.
They were most likely raped and murdered.

@@MichaelLevine-n6y yes, it was the mayor, but the townspeople agreed with him making them just as culpable as the mayor, hence why they were all punished for breaking their oath
So the Piper is definitely some kind of fae creature.
I mean it's fair play the towns people should've just payed instead of cheating they had the money.

From what I think, moral of the story should be to keep ones promise. The mayor and the people of Hamelin had a deal with Pied Piper, but they did not keep their promise and at the end, had to face the consequences.
@@di31202 this is based on true story this happen it's the first record history of the town 100 years later there even stained glass in a church depicting it

They would’ve been fine just giving him the 1,000 😅 why’d he increase it?
There are versions that stay at 1,000 and they still don’t pay him. They never would have anyway.
Let's be real. The Piper didnt get rid of much rats and got butt hurt when they didn't pay him.
to be fair, he asked for less and they said they would pay him more. That was the deal and they broke it
In the tale the Piper gets rid of all the rats. The point of the story is he was promised payment then, after fulfilling his obligation, was not paid. If you accept a job for payment, and fulfill your part of the arrangement and are not paid, will you brush it off as, "butt hurt"?
