Something I’ve been struggling with is the just the amount of information I come across because of the algorithm on social media.
I don’t know what’s best, sometimes I see the idea of ‘functional training’ being the best, or sometimes the low stress workout being best in order to reduce inflammation and bloating, sometimes it’s doing ‘deep core’ exercises to get the snatched waist, eating as a carnivore, or intermittent fasting, ketogenic… and so on and so forth. It’s just endless and when it comes to training it’s confusing cuz I just don’t know who to listen to. Many people have anecdotes of success, like who do I listen to? 💀

Agreed. Too much info and conflicting info. I think you just need to wade into a plan and see how it works for you personally and if it doesn't move on.

This is so true. Honestly, nutrition is most important as a petite. Pick any workouts that involve strength training, and focus on nutrition over the "perfect" work out plan.

@@imlars2431 feel you! This is the result of social media to be fair, I’m grateful for the amount of info I have access too, but I also need to remember that everyone is trying to gain followers and push their brand/products. And I’ve noticed that every single influencer post I’m seeing now is followed by ‘reply with _____ to get the plan in your DMs’ and it’s just getting so depressing. Hate what instagram is becoming in regards to fitness influencing.
Like what has been commented above, I think all we can do is try a plan consistently for a few months and evaluate if it’s working or not, and move from there. These things take years to figure out and actually the amount of info I can see actually causes me to worry about my own plan even if it’s actually working for me!… which is just ridiculous. Searching for that simple life now lol

😢I’m so sad I missed your last free master class. I’m 4’11 at 117 lbs and I am trying for a body recomposition. @jamiedomingo9882 I went on a calorie deficit (of -200kcal) while making sure I still got sufficient amount of protein. Additionally to that, I went on more walks to stay active (I also do weightlifting but I didn't change the amount of doing that). Making sure you eat healthy is also something to keep in mind, a lil snack here and there doesn't hurt ;)

@jamiedomingo9882 I also got to say, I always skip breakfast and wait until lunch time to eat something. I don't particularly do that for any reason, I just don't like to eat something heavy in the morning haha. My first meal is usually something high in protein then.

Im glad this worked for you and you got what you wanted for yourself, i have followed you for a long time because i like to see different influencers who are petite like me and i do appreciate your disclaimers about health. But honestly sometimes your content hurts. Lots of people look like your before pics some or all of the time including myself as a lifter for 5 years and theres nothing wrong with that. Except to you, clearly there is something wrong with that because almost all your content is about changing that about yourself and influencing others to do the same. i find the focus on aesthetics and leanness to be... Just getting me down. It just makes me feel sad. I do think the information about petite diets is useful/sensible for those who are seeking it, i just... Wish we could re-center some of the conversation around why to exercise and eat healthy. The #1 reason petite women should lift isnt aesthetics, its actually bone health. We are at a much greater risk of osteoporosis ESPECIALLY those who are chronic dieters and those who are thinner/weigh less. Instagram, tiktok etc have really distorted people's ideas of how they look and what's attractive. It's sad, it leads to eating disorders and unsurprisingly is a huge cash cow for diet and wellness companies since it's extremely hard to attain and maintain without spending a lot of mental energy every single day.

I completely understand your feelings. Of course there is nothing wrong with the before pictures. Everyone has a different idea of what their ideal body is. I personally really value her content as someone with her body type that was never able to get where she is. I find her before pictures inspiring because it shows that change IS possible after I've been struggling for so long
It might be better for you if you found a content creator that has the same body goals that you do if hearing her goal is too uncomfortable. Or consume it knowing you have differing opinions and spit out the parts you disagree with

It would be great if there were an option to just get the workout plan without the community things / nutrition plans / everything else the programs provide.

I get more videos of exercise program for short girls so I guess I’m going against the grain for skinny fat tall girls. Y’all show more fat than we do, sure, but you also show muscle better too. I’m a lanky stick regardless of my exercise program but all the fitness people online are short girls. I need stuff for actual tall girls (pushing 6’). I think the “tall girl” programs you’re thinking of are for girls that are closer to the average height (like 5’5”-5’7”). That’s not tall really. Those heights are above average, but not tall. Fitfluencers and personal trainers on here are either short women or tall men. No tall women that I have found.

I am so glad I found you to realize that I don't have as many calories to work with as a petite woman. I tried the calorie deficit and it worked for a little but wasn't sustainable because I couldn't fit things I want into my calories without taking away healthy things. And I realized how valuable building muscle can be to body recomposition and metabolism so I can have more calories to work with. I'm down 7 pounds since April and I attribute a lot of my success to the information you gave me so THANK YOU!

@TaraT522 I'm 5'2" and to tell you the truth I think it's a slow process. I tried eating only 1400 calories and it was too hard so instead I gained muscle over a few months without worrying about calories. Once I saw some strength I started tracking my normal calories over a few days and I realized I was eating too much fat so once I cut that down by making small changes to my diet I started seeing results.
