that is the point. This is all Ressurection 2ª Etapa and whatnot , but they didn't reach that potential. The sad thing is that Espadas from 1 to 4 were all Vasto Lorde , so it would be only a matter of time.
Anyone else noticed the Espada are pretty much mirror images of the Gotei 13. Their powers were given as way to counter the Gotei Captains specifically. Segunda Espada to counter Soi fon. Tres Espada to counter Hitsugya
That would've been interesting if it was the case, but the only Arrancar that is intentionally a counter to a specific captain is Wonderweiss. Harribel and Hitsugaya only have similar powers, Barragan's power is a counter to anything basically

Aizen had spent at least a 100 years with the Captains. He knows all of their strategies and powers. You don't think that when he gave the Espada certain powers with the Hogyoku that he may have tweaked them for his purposes? For instance the 7th Espada. Dont you think that his powers are a perfect counter to Komamura. He could take control of anything so imagine if he had met up with his numerical counter part. The 8th is obviously meant to counter Kurotsuchi. 5th was supposed to entertain Kenpachi he had the toughest heirro of all. 6th was specifically molded for Ichigo but I think that was just a coincidence. 4th would've been matched up with Byakuya of course. Ulquirroa's powers could easily counter his billions of blades with sheer speed. Of course we already did the top 3. The only one Espada I dont see that was specifically made to counter a Captain was the 9th but I believe wasn't meant to counter anyone and was an experimental. Also he wasn't a true Espada like the rest and was merely the strongest Gillian and probably was only meant to establish a boundary line between the evolutions of the Gillians to Adjuchas. Of course this just my theory but it's quite clear to me Aizen was playing Chess with his pieces
First of all - bleach is one of my fav anime of all time. But to be honest it is not the best. The sole reason is the Espadas and their stories and fights. They were all more or less cool and had OP abilities. They were hyped like each of them is strong as few captains bla bla... But you are telling me that the 13 strongest good guys are going to fight the 10 strongest bad guys and every bad guy is going to die and all of the good guys are going to live? I actually think that most of the captains actually counter the Espadas they were fighting. 10 - probably the worst attempt to power scale a character up and he even died off-screen. wtf???? 9 - dies on a surprise against Rukia. - Ok. he was the weakest who cares 8 - So Mayuri removes his body parts and wins because of it. Any other captain except top 3 with much bigger reiatsu = INSTANT DEATH. 7 - The guy has 50 eyes and can control body parts he has laid eyes upon. Of course he is going to fight a captain with 1 million blades. Also would have given at least more than half of the captains a lot of trouble. 6 - He didn't die, and his fight was actually ok 5 - "So if I use a sword with 2 hands I can swing it stronger?" What is this? Not to mention he was losing hard up to that point. Ok, this is later explained why, but still cmon. Nice fight but the really bad conclusion. 4. Died due to plot armor. The first time in the history of anime does the bad guy, not to mention a calm and very smart bad guy drop a new form unless he has to. Even though the ending of the fight was nice and I like the fight overall I think it might have been much better to save their forms so they fight each other in new forms so it isn't that much one-sided. 3. Ok so let's have a water Espada fight the ice captain, who can use water to make ice. Brilliant idea 2. This was an ideal character to kill someone in the story, I am ok with the way he died, it's just they all survive again 1. When you give someone number 1, especially after number 4-2 where so OP, you are expecting God himself. And sure Stark is cool, and I like him and sure he has the biggest reiatsu. But he is a letdown, in my opinion, it's not like he is bad, it's just you had an opportunity to make him so much greater. To compare, Demon Slayer is a manga/anime that started being much less cool than Bleach, but with really strong and dangerous bad guys ended up being better in the end.
What do you mean these are the espada with the hogyoku planted in them so why would ulqiorra not be here. Also all of the espada were in the manga but I assume u mean cant fear your own world and in that novel only hallibel, nelliel, and grimmjow are still alive so if they went by that we would only have those three hogyoku forms.
Will say, Barragan and Stark with the "fate" ost from the TYBW is epic.
