I've always liked this knife, and S35vn is a superb steel,, I'm severely tempted to track one down,,, but,, I'm supposed to be cutting down on the knife buying, due to the expense of moving house soon, 😱,, 🏠,, Oh, well,, I'll definitely keep it in mind, for when "she who must be obeyed" , says I can spend again,, 🤣,, All the best my friend,, 👍 ps, we've had nearly 3 months of rain and storms, so this week it's supposed to be good weather, 🤞,, so it's back down the woods for me,, 🎉,, cheers,, John 😊
It's a good thing you waited. Knife Center has a new exclusive of this knife with the same scales and blade steel but it is a button lock. They also have the liner lock available in Magnacut steel, jade and black or tan and black scales. I already have three of these things and I might be getting a fourth.
My last knife was a Microtech Signature Series Combat Troodon, which is a great knife, but when I got the email from Knifecenter on this Beseech Swordfish, I thought, I must have one. I got it with the black blade. Haven't received it yet, but it looks great. Will have to work it into the rotation.
I like this knife. I got 2 of them, in fact. Got the one you have here, and got the cheaper version(I think D2 IIRC) with blue handle scales. Fit and finish is fantastic, the opening is super smooth, came very sharp.
Thx for the review. I love the design of the swordfish. I was considering one in 14c28n button lock, but maybe I'll pull the trigger on the s35 liner lock. I had no idea the rat 1 came in s35 and in red. Thx!
So far I was just able to locate the D2 version of this design, which comes in 3 additional colors (blue, olive and orange) and costs a bit less. I like the design. :)
Probably one of the Cold Steel Voyager XL knives, they are around $55 right now. But if you need something shorter, there is the Bush Ranger Lite or the SR1 Lite, they are around $35.
I own that knife, and it's great, but the pocket clip is horrible. It gets caught on everything, and I have bent it so many times that the clip no longer is useful, so I no longer carry it sadly
