I cleaned off my desk and wiped the desk top for the first time in ages. Now I can actually see my desk top. I found stuff that had gotten covered up over time. thanks for encouraging me.
Ready for Wednesday's Sal. "Home is" blocks 1 & 2 are waiting for block 3. I pre-cut strips of all my colours so i only need to cut the length for each piece. I cut strips in 1 1/2", 2", 2 1/2" & 3" for all colours. I hope this speeds up prep-time when new block pattern arrives. When I use up some sizes I can cut a few more for the next week so I get a quick start. I have lots of yardage of my main colours so i won't run short. There will be pieces for my scrap box of hst's & little was, etc. It is my "Pick and Play" Box for day starters when you want to sew and can't decide where to start. It is a new box on trial. See you tomorrow.
Good morning Pat 😊💛. I missed your live again ☹️. I was up until 2am finishing projects. I finished the quilt top I talked about yesterday 🥳. Then I layered up and pinned my Stay at Home quilt and got it all quilted and bound 🥳. My first finish of 2021. I’m be back at it today trying to complete something else 😁. But first I’m going to show my machines some love. Cleaning, oiling and needle changes for all. A new rotary blade is probably a good idea to. Have a wonderful day 😊❤️
My clean up involves cutting scraps into sizes needed for a scrap quilt. Later, I will be hand quilting another scrap quilt , while watching the Buffalo Bills in the playoffs! Wish us a winning game. Thanks.
Good luck with your loaf Pat. I have I reactivated my starter and love of Artisan sourdough at the beginning of last year. I use the Tartine basic recipe. There are some great guidance videos on UA-cam. Such a satisfying activity, enjoy!
Your bread making inspired me to bake something new. I made my first batch of bagels on Monday. They tasted good but the look needs worked on. I also took a break from reorganizing and got the binding on another UFO. Yay!!
I love the red ine with the bug flowers. That isnso beautiful. I have been cleaning up. And this is a great time to do this. I love having blocks to do every week. I have trouble eith tension. So I do same color. I'm sometimes a lazy quilter.
Good morning Pat, I like to test my quilting on a quilt sandwich then cut it into squares for coasters... you can never have enough coasters. Also great for little gifts. Love your videos. 💕
Good morning Pat. You always make my day! Covid-19 is currently in me, fortunately my symptoms are on the mild side, thank the Lord! You always brighten things and give great advice
Hi ya all. It is cold but beautiful here in Tyler, Tx. I also plan on finishing up a few things. Sewing, wrapping packages, and hemming two dresses. It just never ends. LOL . ❤️✝️👍🧵
Can't wait to see your progress on Monthly Markings. I am still trying to decide if I want to do it as one piece or several little ones. I also have to kit up a couple cross stitch projects.
When I start FM quilting, I add a piece of top fabric along the edge where it's going to be trimmed off when I do the binding for my test area. That way I get the same sandwich to test the tension, which I've learned to do every time. I also always use a print for the backing so the thread is hidden. I have a dark green and gold/brown quilt with a light blue backing that has a white print on it. Using green thread in the top, and off white in the bobbin, you cannot see the quilting on the back, which is fine with me. I also never use white thread. To me, even on white fabric, it shows too much. I always use a shade of white. As for cleaning, I'll do my machine. But I moved it into my living room and made the sewing room my cutting room. That still needs some serious decluttering before cleaning. Going up to 79 degrees in Phoenix today! Stay warm, folks.
I use the miracle boule recipe from food network. I start it before going to bed, and its ready to make the next morning. I add in 1 cup of starter (with the 3 cups flour) and reduce liquid in recipe by 1/4 cup. I cover it in a deep bowl and let it set in the microwave overnight. Baked in the lodge pot, it comes out amazing as is the crustiest, yummiest bread ever!
Do you know if the Aurifil patterns this year will be free or only if you buy a thread subscription? I love paper piecing but don't really want to commit to buy 12 months of thread.
Using the same colored thread as the spool adds more color to the bottom. I like the idea of that, Pat Sloan.

Always feels so good to get things tidied and organized!!
Glad you mentioned your sourdough. I had a flatbread pizza from Panera yesterday and thought of you. Now you have me hooked!!!

Hello how are you doing today 💝
I love the scarf

My sewing machine went to the spa last week, and I took advantage and did a thorough dust and vacuum around and in the sewing table. Yeah!
Wiped down the leather belt on my treadle machine, with leather oil, it was so happy😀.
I can't believe the places dust gets into. You are right fabric makes a lot of dust.
Beautiful
yes it would nice to see a clean area. right now I do not have one.
Hello how are you doing today 💝
I’m so happy you got the Lodge Dutch oven! They are made in the USA, in Tennessee!
Cool!

I match my bobbin thread to my backing fabric so you don't see my bad quilting
Good morning from NJ we have rain this morning. I glad it not snow!
Good snowy morning from the St Lawrence River Valley - happy Saturday sewers 😊
Your bread making inspired me to bake something new. I made my first batch of bagels on Monday. They tasted good but the look needs worked on. I also took a break from reorganizing and got the binding on another UFO. Yay!!
Good morning from rainy NH. Rather have rain than snow !!! At least the roads aren’t icy😂
I prefer the shorter projects as well. I also like that you show the layout even though it is a mystery.
Good morning from SW Ohio. Pat, I SO enjoy having my coffee while watching you the mornings. Thank you for all you do.❤️

Dust is the protective coating.!
That’s what my mother always said.
Good luck on your loaf. It is really good to do. And tasty, too.

Big hugs💕
I like using a light grey thread in the bobbin called bottom line. It works well with so many fabrics.
Good morning from Minnesota 😄❄️❄️

Morning everyone! Rainy here in Massachusetts, wish it was snow!
Hello how are you doing today 💝
cleaning up while looking for a pattern I want to make. I know it is there somewhere!

I don’t worry about the bobbin color because I don’t spend a lot of time staring at the back of a quilt. It’s easier that way.
Odd, vid just started yet chat stopped and it says streamed 15 min ago, lol scratching my head. Rewind.. watch again in a bit. Pat have a blessed day
Recommend King Arthur Flour website for your bread recipe! Good luck!
Hello how are you doing today 💝
I know you've mentioned it before...but what is the pattern for the quilt you have hanging on the wall behind you? I LOVE it!
Thank you 💕 it is a version of pat-sloan.dpdcart.com/product/92663
Can you link us to your scarf?
It is a gift 🎁
Good morning everyone from Philadelphia
i like the hoop frame. is there a pattern or tutorial?
This was a gift so I don't know where she got the pattern
Is the Kim Lapacek bom the scrappy challenge? I was trying to find it.
I don't have a scrappy challenge. See what is going on at my website www.ilovetomakequilts.com/
Hello Pat. What is the white task lamp behind you? How are you liking it? I struggle with poor lighting in my small sewing room.
Do you know if the Aurifil patterns this year will be free or only if you buy a thread subscription? I love paper piecing but don't really want to commit to buy 12 months of thread.
I'm not doing anything for Aurifil this year
Where did you get the frame for your cross stitch
So you mean the blue cover? That was a gift one of our friends here made for me
The busier your back is the less the quilting will show.
