Fun fact: Notice how in Minho's "Chase" MV the sign outside the bar/the name of the bar says, "The last piece of the puzzle" referring to the fact that Minho was the last of the SHINee members to have a solo debut and that his album completes Jonghyun's legacy of making all the members solo debut album titles rhyme -- Taemin Ace, Jonghyun Base, Key Face, Onew Voice and now Minho Chase. As one of the top actors in Korea starting in 2011, over the years Minho has developed an eye for storytelling. Therefore, he had a specific vision for what he wanted the story and message to be in this MV. After being sent several drafts of the MV by the director, Minho went to the editing studio himself and actually directed the storyline the way he envisioned the story. So everything you see was designed by him. He even made the decision to not include choreography in the MV in order to make the story more cinematic. As I see it, Minho's "Chase" MV is about being chased and sort of haunted by the memory of his past love. The girl broke up with him (or died) and he keeps chasing after the memories of her and the good times when they were in love. He keeps going to the bar where he has good memories of her and he gets beat up because he is disturbing people, as you see him walk up to that couple in the bar thinking the girl was his past lover. The guys who are beating him up are trying to prevent him from coming back or entering the bar, but he won't stop, so they have to use force. In the beginning you see Minho and the girl lying on the bed, but if you notice Minho is staring at the girl but the girl is looking into the camera, which is over his shoulder. I see this as symbolizing how, even though it might look like things are OK and Minho might feel like they are still in love, the girl has already checked out of the relationship and she already has one foot out the door. The relationship was long over at that point. So Minho is struggling to accept what happened. He was still in love when she had fallen out of love. I'm not really sure that he was in a car accident or that she really died in the accident. I sort of see it as a metaphor about how their relationship came crashing to an end from Minho's perspective and it symbolizes the death of their love, etc. Which is why we see that the scene where he runs after the girl right after the car accident is in reverse and everything is being rewound. The car accident could be a literal car accident, but I see it as more likely representing his emotional state. At the end what you see is that he shot the memories that have kept him stuck in the perpetual loop, he wasn't killing himself but trying to stop the memories of her from consuming his life. With everything that SHINee has been through, Minho's storyline would have never depicted any form of suicide.
The MV, lyrics, melody, Minho’s acting, everything.. also the choreo really complimented with each other really well. Minho was personally involved with the MV Direction. The message of the song indeed was very deep. Love Chase Album!
So glad that you liked this MV and the album, it's a "no skip" album for me. Minho's vision and his input are all over the album and the MV and he did a great job on both!
He just keeps getting better and better, but this was so sad // he is quite the actor though. The holidays can be rough. In the U. S. the suicide helpline is 988. You all are loved so reach out to family or friends. Happy Holidays to you 3 gentlemen. Love your reactions.
Minho directed and produced his mv for this song. And if you didn't notice there's no usual sm entertainment logo at the end like you usually see because he got them to drop it so as not to obscure or detract from the mv story.
@@milindawilson9175 it was only shown after the end img of Minho and the shattered mirror. Rather then while the end sequence of the MV was still playing. Minho himself said he asked them to wait for the end of the storyline before showing the logo. If you watch the MV you'll notice it doesn't cut into the final scenes but only after it ends. Usually the logo is in the final scenes of MVS. By the way love your posts when you share them on reaction vids. Keep sharing
Minho wasn't talking about the visual logo. He meant the new noise/soundbite that happens at the end of SM videos now. He got them to remove that noise to prevent immersion break at the end after the gunshot.
@@BlueNightShineeWorld25508 aww thanks. However I'm not sure it was the logo he was talking about. That part looks the same to me. But I did notice there was no dunt dun sound at the end like SM has been using for the past year or so.

Milinda, you always give such thorough analysis and have a keen eye for clues or meanings. Thanks!!
The other thing that hit me is that it rounds out the Shinee albums Taemin- ACE, Jonghyun -Base, Key - Face, Onew - Voice, Minho - Chase

What do you mean? I clearly see SM's logo at the end of the MV. Looks like the same ending logo screen SM puts on all their MVs.
