The truth is most Nigerians don't know what they want. Also we only just focus on the federal (presidency), we forget that the federal basically does policies, the states & civil servants are those to drive these policies. But we never hold the givernors accountable. I can categorically gaurantee u that, if the governors in Nigeria are functional in use of the funds being disbursed to them monthly, the kind of change needed in terms of food security, security of life & properties, shelter etc would drastically improve. Most state givernors are using the funds to do monumental (captal projects), that has no impact on their people, as a means to steal as much as they can. Example is Nasarwa state; the governor is building an overhead bridge in Lafia, where there are no congested traffic anywhere in the city. While places like Fadama North & South, Rukubi etc are all agricultural LGAs without motorable roads, but are left on attended to. This is exactly whats taking place all over the country.

I would like to disagree a bit. If removing the subsidy means increasing tax rates, higher prices for petroleum products, rising food costs, increased electricity bills, devaluation of the Naira, and providing more funds for governors, then removing the subsidy is useless. I still believe that his policies are more theoretical than practical. A one-size-fits-all policy can't work in Nigeria because our economy is still in the pre-takeoff stage and requires flexible policies.
And what are those authomatic flexible policies? Isn't giving more money to states are supposed to bring developments and create job opportunities for ppl?
Who directly affects the people most? The Fed or the sub-nationals? Who’s better positioned to distribute palliative sir? The Fed or the subnationals? Who should really invest more in Agriculture? The Fed or the the State who owns the land? Seun the truth is that subsidy has affected the cost of living the cumulative effect is massive while I don't support how governors expend their money, The federal government is responsible for policies that set the pace. This is what should have been defined clearly before removing the subsidy. The cart came before the horse. It looks like money has been withdrawn from the masses to the state Governors and they can't be held accountable the problem is not removing the subsidy but can you implement policies that will cushion the effect? If not pay the subsidy. Even the corruption in subsidy can be handled it is not a myth as we are led to believe. if you don't handle corruption now, it will still come around and have massive effects, this is the crux of the matter
It won't work. The pressure most be on the president who removed the subsidy. Why do we have Efcc? What's the Federal government doing. If it's Tinubu's personal money will he release it without a follow up?
I have bern saying that every citizens should hold his or governor accountable and not the presidency. Since the cancelation of subsidy, essch state allocation has increased. What are the governor doi v with money. Lets stop concentrsting on tge federal zlone
The president giving such money to the governors is like when we were young and stole meat from the pot we gave part to the younger brother the logic was to extend the culprit to justify the conscience.
Well, as usual as a people we get emotional. If you ask 10 nigerians what they want, you get 10 different answers. What do we want collectively as a PEOPLE. Just one thing will do! Perhaps we should start questioning the Governors and Local Government Chairman. Everything is not federal. Most of us live in states and LGs but everything is federal. We need to organize and focus as a people. Let ask for just 1 thing.
All na audio money! Let any federal govt officials come and tell us the truth. Even Tinubu should have mentioned it in any of his speach that we should hold the governors accountable. Some ofl the palliatives also goes to party members and not Nigerians, and they odd the rest for elections which they don't even know if they will still be alive till then. So wicked minded set of people. From up to bottom, they are very wicked.
Seun this so call increases in allocation since the removal of subsidies compared the exchange rate even last year August to the present without stabilizing the market pumping money will not make a difference
Most of Nigeria we hipocrate, it's only few seriously want to know how the state money is going, because if truly you want to call your state governor accountable, it needs to be all around but what i see is that there's alots of tribalism, a certain region forcus there fight to lagos, abuja and federal which unfear, Your state governor are collecting money but all what you'll be saying is they used fed. money to develop lagos when it was the capital really!, Since when, so since they're have returned Capita to abuja and abuja has been capital longer than when lagos was capital but the GDP of lagos still far more than Abuja, Regardless the governors are doing decent job, What's the results of your own governor, we saw what wike did in PH, we are seeing what his doing in Abuja now, we are seeing what sanwolu and makide, nither state but what can you say your governor is doing but your problem is president, May the lord help us in this country of Hippocrates
How can Tinubu disburse billions of Naira to the State Governor's as palliatives to disturbed. Where is the money? Gifts to the State Governors. Foolish move.
Hey, did Nigerian president Tinubu really pass his high school Economics subject? Who taught him that inflation is tackled with releasing money to the people by the government?🤣
The truth is palliative can't go round but subsidy can . So the federal government should find a way to look for a way to stop theft instead of removing subsidy 😊
Stop importation, thus stop subsidy! Swap Crude Oil with local Refineries (eg. Dangote Refinery) in exchange for supply of Petrol for domestic use. The price if petrol will go drastically low. Billions of Naira can not replace mediocrity... lack of cerebral engagement is a disease!
U're right. But those profiting from the subsidy, that are not even Nigerians are more, while Nigeria keeps pilling up debt. If Nigerians are the major beneficiaries of the subsidy it would have been awesome. U'll say why can he deal with those criminally stealing from subsidy? That's going to be extremely difficult. That's why he opted for the more difficult choice of removing the subsidy.. but with this it doesn't mean their wouldn't still be leakages.. but let's hold so many people accountable. Imagine each time rumor has it that fuel price would drop, the fuel stations will lock up their stations, & would instead increase the price when they open.. these are strong sign
Instead of Tinubu to keep giving them funds why not just put the money in something the ordinary citizens can benefit directly from? It's like taking subsidy money from the masses to give it to the Governors. Does that make any sense ? He is just trying to be on their good book for politics sake not for the interest of the common Man.
increased fuel prices (petrol, gas, diesel )devaluation of the naira, poor supply and high electricity tariffs, major infrastructure is it without the power of the states. This is the major issues causing the hardship.
Subsidize food from the source .For Example ,We know the major rice miller and rice importers in the country, Why don't we subsidize it at least for a year and pay them the excess and announced no retailer should sell rice mire than 40k and and any store that sell more than that should be reported
Northerners don't like to hold their own accountable at all.. during Buhari's time things were very bad as well, but northernwrs kept shielding him & refused to protest against him. That's also why they can't hold their givernors accountable on issues of food security & security in particular. If they did, them & other parts of the country would have been better for it. Then their are these group of northern business men who keep hoarding thousands of trailer loads of both perishable & non perishable food stuffs and would rather see them all destroyed than sell them for people's consumption.
Seun, you are not asking the right questions. Do we need to disburse cash instead of a planned progressive agricultural revolution at the beginning of the rainy season?
the same question i am asking... failed government. just imagine the kind of heads we have as ministers... very empty headed and inexperienced without competence.
More money in circulation without any transaction...this administration are causing more inflation. More money pursuing few commodities. Your carbinent lacks professionals Tinubu
Is it state governors dat make d policy, remove subsidy on fuel, electricity, increase import duties, devaluation of naira. The state governors are also suffering bcos of federal govt policy.... d increase money to governors are worthless bcos of d inflation. Money is not d problem, the problem is inflation dat needs to be manage. People make more money too now but it doesn't reflect and high cost everything make it vanish.... governors are affected too
Senu I'm very proud of you. You are now doing good investigative journalism and engaging the citizens. It happens in Ex President time they blinded you guys for only talking without speaking the facts and letting the citizens know what is going on. The problems nigerians have, we don't care to know what is going on. We have phones, TV and on but people don't care. But only concern to talk and violence.
Ogun State as a case study. The then Ijebu North Chairman told the world that the money meant for the LGA in the State was not disbursed to them. Rather than other Chairmen to come out loud, they were boxed and intimidated to back the governor and blackmailed this gentleman and he was unceremoniously impeached on trump up charges. Obafemi Owode LGA, despite its proximity to Lagos,no single road or any infrastructural amenities could be seen.
Seun, are you sure, in the real sense , that more money are being given to the states after removal of subsidy? This question becomes imperative because Naira purchasing power decreased when value of naira went down 1500 to a $1
Please Mr Seun, the money to the governors will only probably be use for infrastructures and social amenites in the states, of which the governors are not utilizing well too but how will it affect the food on the masses table?. What we need is the subsidy back which will make transportation less, lead to reduction in food prices etc. That's the most important now. State governors are not the ones to return fuel subsidy. I believe if the president today puts back the fuel subsidy it will go along away to reduce the suffering of the masses. Please people are really suffering. A sachet of 10 table drug of N1,200 during Buhari's regime is now N9,000. It's really bad. President Tunibu should help Nigerians. It's well.
No going back to subsidy, tell your governor to do is bit, from there we move, it can be good like a magic but with bit by bit, let the governor show what they're using the money to do.

Where's efcc chairman, lousy and pretencious Man, he See's all the wickedness of these governor's
You and I know that serving governors cannot be prosecuted. Only civil pressures within the state could bend their ends. The House of Assembly only with the power to impeach corrupt serving are always in the governors pocket. The moment your State House is a stooge to your governor; the state is doomed. No power can deal with a serving governor under a democracy but the State House or Civil movement not the same opening the State.
FG should be helping nigerian through sme program so that tension will come down.
Fellow Nigerian this is the basic of the protest solution ,
Pls protest for Transparency not Tinubu must go,
Money as being distributed to each state governor ,question? Why Governors are not talking until the president spoken?
Governors are the most evils the systems is having, remember the time of Covid 19 pandemic palliative when the palliatives were stored in warehouses for campaign,
Pls fellow Nigerians you have to questions the state government
The president don't have any right to asked the governor's how they spend their found except we the citizens.
Is this not the same Russian flag that's standing beside the President during his address?
I luv dis seun, if am a girl I could have hookup with dis guy to appreciate him for what is doing for the mercy. Because this only channel tv dis politicians are watching in various offices and home including Aso Rock. Because I work sometime ago.
Our government needs to stop telling us they're building roads & bridges like it's a charity or a philanthropic undertaking
Local & state govts need to undergo serious probes & govs need to have their immunity temporarily suspended in short-term and then long-term
Judiciary needs to be reformed immediately
People need to feel impact of govt from the local level up and not from the central level down
Seun the truth is that subsidy has affected the cost of living the cumulative effect is massive while I don't support how governors expend their money, The federal government is responsible for policies that set the pace.
One thing I must guarantee the political class this small money of subsidy they have taken from the poor people they will not eat it in peace
The protesters are supposed to be protesting in their various states to hold their governors accountable
Lets stop concentrsting on tge federal zlone
just invest this money in agriculture to secure food in few months... just imagine... this APC government is a joke. they don't know which way to go
Distraction, deflation
The president giving such money to the governors is like when we were young and stole meat from the pot we gave part to the younger brother the logic was to extend the culprit to justify the conscience.
Well, as usual as a people we get emotional. If you ask 10 nigerians what they want, you get 10 different answers. What do we want collectively as a PEOPLE. Just one thing will do! Perhaps we should start questioning the Governors and Local Government Chairman. Everything is not federal. Most of us live in states and LGs but everything is federal. We need to organize and focus as a people. Let ask for just 1 thing.
Hope uzodimma of Imo state is the worst governor in South East...he should tell us where our money is
All na audio money!
Pumping money can make a huge difference if judiciously used. U dont understand how economy works my friend
Most of Nigeria we hipocrate, it's only few seriously want to know how the state money is going, because if truly you want to call your state governor accountable, it needs to be all around but what i see is that there's alots of tribalism, a certain region forcus there fight to lagos, abuja and federal which unfear,
Your state governor are collecting money but all what you'll be saying is they used fed. money to develop lagos when it was the capital really!,
Since when, so since they're have returned Capita to abuja and abuja has been capital longer than when lagos was capital but the GDP of lagos still far more than Abuja,
Regardless the governors are doing decent job,
What's the results of your own governor, we saw what wike did in PH, we are seeing what his doing in Abuja now, we are seeing what sanwolu and makide, nither state but what can you say your governor is doing but your problem is president,
May the lord help us in this country of Hippocrates
Immunity should be removed from governor's and see turn around in our country
How can Tinubu disburse billions of Naira to the State Governor's as palliatives to disturbed. Where is the money? Gifts to the State Governors. Foolish move.
Seun I did not support you on this, Seun who gave them the money.
The money mentioned would have been lying down on few people 's bank account home and Abroad.
Hey, did Nigerian president Tinubu really pass his high school Economics subject? Who taught him that inflation is tackled with releasing money to the people by the government?🤣
They giving people money for fish instead of providing net to catch fish, Nigeria no add up
It's always been like all over the world. Those are temporary measures and safety nets for the poor.
The governors are the problem but because of hate for Tinubu they are avoiding those putting them in pain
@@luckyisumafen1269correct
increased fuel prices (petrol, gas, diesel )devaluation of the naira, poor supply and high electricity tariffs, major infrastructure is it without the power of the states. This is the major issues causing the hardship.
Subsidize food from the source .For Example ,We know the major rice miller and rice importers in the country, Why don't we subsidize it at least for a year and pay them the excess and announced no retailer should sell rice mire than 40k and and any store that sell more than that should be reported
jagaban brought those governors in so that he won't drown alone.
You are starting to get sense, governors are the problem of the country
Northerners don't like to hold their own accountable at all.. during Buhari's time things were very bad as well, but northernwrs kept shielding him & refused to protest against him. That's also why they can't hold their givernors accountable on issues of food security & security in particular. If they did, them & other parts of the country would have been better for it.
Then their are these group of northern business men who keep hoarding thousands of trailer loads of both perishable & non perishable food stuffs and would rather see them all destroyed than sell them for people's consumption.
I have the figures. I can't post it, i don't know why
This Constitution is the problem. Why are you not working to change it
This is the military constitution .
Pls bring back the one worked before.
Audio money 💴 🤔
Thats what have been sayin lets question the governors and let the federal be.
People can't eat you are doing Projects...
Useless projects
ALL YOU KNOW IS FOOD THAT YOU EAT TODAY ONLY FOR YOU TO SHIT IT TOMORROW, PROJECT WILL LAST TO THOSE YET UNBORN .
THERE A LOT OF FOOD ONLY EXPENSIVE GO AND GET A JOB DON'T BE LAZY.
This question becomes imperative because Naira purchasing power decreased when value of naira went down 1500 to a $1
You are completely ignorant. It's there in the public space. The governors now receive 300% or times 3 of what they used to receive
Bangaladesh =
This protest is head and directed by the wrong actors. It’s is head by people that are not interested in solving Nigerian problem but those buttered by the result of last election. Why whoever end up dying in this process die in vain bcos you’re fight alongside wrong people. Sowore want to become president without a democratic route which is not possible Nigeria is not Iran. We are not a jihad state. In the us or uk, resource will never come directly to anyone from the Fede government no it come through the states. But why you all are shouting end bad governance, and fixing removing TINUBU, referring to him has clueless and him having done the needful, that is sharing the resources according to Nigerian constitution to the state will rightfully think though you’re saying you’re hungry but you recruit to just rally by the same people you should crying to bcos they are the rightful people to look after you, the Governors and local chairman. The job of the federal government and judiciary are to make and enact laws not feeding the nation. They only disbursed allocations not empowered to say in particular how to spend it.
