Oleksandr Usyk defeated Tyson Fury by split decision to become the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world, the first since Lennox Lewis.
Fury was on the brink of being stopped in the ninth round as he received a standing count and Usyk added the WBC title to his WBA, IBF and WBO belts after earning victory with scores of 115-112, 113-114, 114-113 in Saudi Arabia.

That was never a split decision. Referee rescued Fury in the 9th by conducting the slowest count in history allowing him to be saved by the bell, Usyk could have finished Fury off when stopped defending himself when he collapsed over on the ropes and choose not to because that’s not the kind of fighter he is. By any objective, rational view of this fight indicates that Usyk clearly won. Roll on the rematch.

The fact that people don't say it was robbery says it all. Simple as that. I gave Usyk win and it could have been a draw, but Tyson didn't do enough to get his victory and highest result he could have gotten was a draw.

Fury's deluded if he thinks he did enough to get the decision. R6 was his chance to win by KO, but he couldn't do it. Usyk backed him up most of the fight and almost ended him in R9. Correct decision to the better boxer, better man, and just that bit better on fight night. Undisputed !!!

He gave him a standing 8 count because the ropes basically held him up, there’s nothing controversial about it at all. It’s well within the rules
@@Bert-lw1otit was a judgement call and very uncommon. Normally they would have let Usyk finish him off or waived off the fight. His interpretation isn't common at all. I would argue he was still standing and Usyk had around 16 seconds to finish him off.

@@Bert-lw1ot That practically never happens. The ref should have let the fight continue and let Usyk finish him off. There was plenty of time left in the round and Fury was defenseless. In 99 percent of fights the ref would have either let Usyk finish him or called off the fight. The interpretation was very generous towards Fury. There have been ex professional boxers like David Haye that agree with my viewpoint.

I’m Usyk fan and I rooted for him to win, but I’d not say the match was dominated by him. Tyson managed to compose himself and get the last 2 rounds after the brutal 9th, and I admire him for that.
