Ryan Day needs to be fired stop defending him. He's a great guy and great coach. So was John Cooper but they don't win against Michigan. This is a school where a game means as much as the rest of the season. Day knew this. I feel terrible for the defensive staff and players in this game. The offense left them for dead. Enough is enough.
Dishonest argument by Bobby and Anthony. This game should never have been close. Ryan Day's game plan was a total loser. Moore out coached Ryan Day for second straight year. Ryan Day a drag on the team.

TF?! 4) If OSU doesn't fire Day now, it puts us in the scenario where Bama was last year with losing recruits/current players w later Saban exit...
This was the best defense that OSU has faced this year and it's led by a former NFL Coordinator. OSU was outcoached and Michigan won both lines of scrimmage. Tough to win the game when you have an OL that can't hold up to one of the best DLs in the country. Michigan was missing their 2 of their best defensive players (Will Johnson, Rod Moore) due to injury. They also didn't have their #1 offensive player (similar to 2022 when Michigan didn't have Blake Corum available).
Michigan is a mediocre B1G team this year. Days offensive game plan and neglecting his special teams is why he choked the game away. All OSU had to do is what every other team that beat Michigan did, but Day was too busy with his fake tough guy routine to care about winning.
@@roris5882Michigan had a down year after losing several coaches and 17 players to the league. It took a few months for the coaches to figure out the defense. They’re still without a good QB but they’ll fix that in a month or two. Moore will actually have a full offseason to prepare for 2025 unlike the month he had after last season to fill coaching jobs and figure out what players he had to work with. The portal was already picked apart in January after they won the NC. They’ll be back next year.
It's funny, I thought having the expanded playoff would make losses a bit easier to take. Turns out that doesn't actually work. Never felt worse about a loss. I was 8 years old in 96 so that means nothing to me. Only ones comparable were the horrible championship game losses and Purdue and msu. It's not just losing to Michigan, It's that this was the last chance I had to believe in Ryan Day. Can he change my mind? Nothing short of a championship would do that. You can throw out the lazy coaching names available but there's a bunch of good coaches in the NFL and in college. If we have a good athletic department, shouldn't be afraid of making a change after the season.
*I can’t imagine I’m the only person who saw this coming.* All you had to do was watch Howard all season. Only I thought it was be lost due to Howard throwing picks, and incompletions at horrible moments. I did NOT see 60min of the worst play calling in the history of college football, coming. We could pick apart Howard, and the kicker all day long….but, *this was Ryan Day and Chip Kelly showing a level of selfishness, I never thought I’d see in college football.* Trying to make a “toughness” statement with a broken o-line, against the best d-line in college football, was a GROTESQUELY stupid thing to do for one quarter…..never mind the entire game. This was so STUPID, you can’t help but wonder if it was done on purpose. And, for a QB who’s supposed to be able to run, we have yet to even see THAT.* And, now these returning seniors have nothing to show for it. I feel horrible for them, and they have EVERY right to be livid at Day/Kelly. P.S. Foget the natty, that ain’t happening. *P.S. Congrats to our Caleb and our defense who played a GREAT game…they have NO reason to hang their heads. I feel sick for them.*
My 10-year-old granddaughter said Grandpa why do they keep running up the middle when they got all them great receivers so if that don't mean move on from these coaches I don't know what does we'll be having the next same conversation next year in Ann Arbor after the game we won't beat him next year neither that's it I can tell you that right now
Day is trash. End of story he should resign. No natty no job at this point. No excuses. The coaching staff lost that game. Aka Day. Did Kelly take money to throw the game is my question. 3 10 year old coulda been better. Unexceptable and Day needs to be held accountable. That’s a huge problem in this world. Zero accountability from any one. I’m not sad. I’m not upset anymore. I’m pissed. Day sucks and should resign.
This guys are babbling about "The wind. The wind". How about the fact that the coaches couldn't design single play in the second half to get Smith or Egbuka the ball. Not a single target to either in the second half.
Something has to be done soon, or we will start losing recruits, like Michigan did after Tressel, and urban ran the team. Between those 2 coaches, they single handily killed michigans recruiting for years! Just look at the average star rating several years ago, especially before Harbaugh was hired! That’s tough to recover from! I’m not saying that Ryan day should be fired, but Ohio states players need to play tougher and with more pride. And I still don’t know why we played to michigans strengths! Where was the deep plays? We kept running the ball up the middle, and only passed when we had to! We had 3 receivers that could literally out run michigans corners! We played not to lose, while Michigan played to win, and they had nothing to lose, which made them play loose! Tressel would have destroyed that Michigan team, with that talent, and urban would have too!
All of the complaining about the offensive gameplan doesnt make sense to me. Ohio state had more passing attempts than they had all season other than against oregon. Maybe it wasnt the gameplan was bad it was just michigan played great. Stop making excuses. You lost.
OSU paid for not pursuing the Miami of Ohio kicker (Lou Groza Award winner) when he transferred to Alabama. Bet he wouldn't have kicked the ball out of bounds 3 times in a row, lol.
Why did these guys come back for this debacle. The coaches needed to give the best receiving corps in NCAAF a chance to win this game when the running game stalled.
I rewatched the draw play that led to 0 yards, the problem was that OSU tried to single block Mason Graham and Graham easily went around the block to make the tackle- really just shouldn't have tried to run anything inside the tackles
They're 10-2 and still going to the playoffs. WTF are you talking about?! I've been a Bucks fan for 45yrs, and of course it sucks to lose to those cheaters up north but I'm embarrassed by our childish, can't-handle-a-loss, the sky is falling fanbase. You motherfuckers are THE WORST.
Should have hit more option plays cause the 1 the ran was a big gain for Q prob the best run play all game and then relied on JJ smith for the passing game. They couldnt cover him and he got no looks in the second half.
Most of the time the team that runs for more yards wins this game. 100 percent of the time the team that scores more points wins the game, so find the best way to score points.

#fireday, I'll hashtag and say that until I'm blue in the face. He is a big game and Michigan loser, point blank, nearly every single time. Ohio State and these kids deserve better
I honestly think this is inside Ryan's head. I think he's cooked once it becomes mental it hard to overcome. Ryan Day is the first time coach at Ohio State, is not a job where coaches cut their teeth. I think it's time to just get the ball rolling and find a new coach. guys, it's not even about the Michigan game it's every primetime game he folds up. and the scheme the play calling becomes extremely extremely questionable his situational decision become extremely questionable. See if you could throw 15 million at Dan Lanning and get him
The loss is SQUARELY ON CHIP AND RYAN. Caleb downs intercepts the ball on the 16. They run the ball up the middle for 0 yards. Tried a throwback to gee Scott for 0 yards. And then did a draw up the middle to Trey for 0 yards. Not ONE TARGET TO JJ
How about the play when orji ran left and Styles was on the end and instead of holding contain he ran into the blocker and Caleb Downs ran into the same blocker. Either one of them could have, should have tackled him.
I don’t understand why Devin wasn’t given that series. Howard wasn’t right. Maybe the plan would have switched up and we gain momentum. It forced a switch up in the game plan. It’s sad, all together.
This loss was another example of Day refusing to learn and adapt from his mistakes, which he always seems ro make during the biggest games and during the most important moments. He still doesn't have a reliable Kicker and he would have a Natty Ring if he had one 2 seasons ago, when it mattered. Day's fake tough guy offensive game plan was pathetic, which shows he still hasn't learned why he had to give up calling plays.
I'm one who says idc if we win the natty ryan can sit and spin on it on his way out...if we can't beat the one team that matters most idk how a natty just cures everything for everyone? That's literally nuts! So we can just go through this again next year? I mean that is insanity isn't it, repeating the same thing over and over expecting a different result? Well it's been 4 years in a row now...how many more years do you need to feel this way?
Interesting observation: the first year of the BCS we won the natty. The first year of a I think a 4 team playoff system we won the natty. Now its a12 team system hmmmm
One last thing! Ryan day has to run the table the rest of the way out, by winning the national championship, to save his job, I believe, however it will be tainted in the end!
The fact Day had more to do w play calling this week than any other time this year tells me his "mentor" acquiesced to Days attempt to prove he wasn't "soft" by choosing to run up the middle against the only two defensive players scUM had that could affect the game. Its mind numbingly obvious and even more annoying that a guy like Vrabel or Urban isn't coaching us in THESE types of games.
Some fans only care about beating TTUN, some care about post season only some the trifecta (beat TTUN, Big 10 Championship AND national title run). It all matters in this landscape to me. Players and recruits nowadays here at OSU care about the natty. Until culture changes that’s all they will mostly care about especially the non-Ohio guys. It is what it is.

Urban coached for Lou Holtz, at ND. That's probably why that comment bothers Day so much. Although that has nothing to do with Days failing mental health issues. He is too soft and his fake tough guy routine is pathetic.
For this roster of guys who came back for some serious unfinished business, to be let down so severely by such a horrendous gameplan is just inexcusable.
I love you guys, especially being former players but please call a spade a spade. Then be positive.
Let’s Go Blue! Hail! 💛〽️💙
😃
Go Blue! 7-5❤️😂😂
WHAT HAPPENED TO “DO WHAT EVER YOU HAVE TO DO TO WIN”? THEY DIDN’T DO THAT AT ALL! JUST KEEP TRYING TO RUN THE BALL DOWN THE MIDDLE EVEN IF YOU CAN’T. THAT IS TOTALLY STUPID. PLAY CALLING WITH THE LACK OF GOOD OLINE AND QB PLAY. PLUS MISSED CLOSE FIELD GOALS.😮 NO EXCUSES! THIS IS TOTALLY ON DAY AND KELLY!
They had more passing attempts against michigan than they had all season other than against Oregon. I really don't understand what you are talking about.
They ran it on 3rd and 8 and 3rd and 10. You cannot defend game plan or play calling.
@@HughMorristheJoker numbers don't lie. They tried to pass and have balance. Just because Michigan defended it well doesn't mean it was a bad plan. Plus day and Kelly were not kicking the field goals. That was on the players.
Where were the screens, quick slants, RB passes, and bootlegs to the perimeter? Oh yeah, Howard was injured so he was like McCord without the ability to throw accurately after his adrenaline wore off. So why wasn't Brown or Sayin put in for the 2nd Half, just to win?
@roris5882 he looked perfectly fine to me. Just scared like the rest of the players. It was a tad windy out that day. Maybe ohio state will enforce a rule change that all big games they play will be indoors. I'm sure something is coming. They can't be having all this nasty weather. I mean did you see how bright that sun was shining? Ridiculous.
Day is not the man .😮
I disagree. Nothing wrong with staying at 3rd base. It's a good spot to be tough and add Grecian formula
I would really like to know who actually called the offensive game plan-was it Chip or Ryan?
Me too D Day definitely had something to do with it and probably nobody is going to reveal that.Only D Day can man up and admit it.
Go Blue! But these two are awesome. Great discussion and analysis as always guys.
There was no reason for Howard to go back in the game. I’ll ride or die with a backup before relying on a concussed QB.
Cheese
That was a rough hit 🎯
It feels like every year day has been there. Ok I’m done. I speak truth. Stop being fanboys and call him out.
Bobby and Anthony, and AJ, simply the best my friends!
Dishonest argument by Bobby and Anthony. This game should never have been close. Ryan Day's game plan was a total loser. Moore out coached Ryan Day for second straight year. Ryan Day a drag on the team.
1)Only Army/Navy had less passing yds to a WR than scUM
2) ZERO targets to JJSmith in 2nd half
3) Former beat writer at Ohio St Andrew (believe it's spelled "Lynn"🤷♂️) said post game, "maybe a coach shouldn't have spent the last month looking for a job." TF?!
He let them kids down again.
He did
Again and Again, Again, Again!. HAIL 〽️
The players came to play and boy they showed up with lots of emotion. Loved the Judkins energy man.
FIRE DAY ! RJT OSU 66 Veteran
This describes how I feel exactly, at this point if they make and or win the championship I will almost be more angry about this loss.
It's not on the players it's on the head coach!!!
My 10-year-old granddaughter said Grandpa why do they keep running up the middle when they got all them great receivers so if that don't mean move on from these coaches I don't know what does we'll be having the next same conversation next year in Ann Arbor after the game we won't beat him next year neither that's it I can tell you that right now
Those Buckeye tears are so gd sweet! Still rock with the General even though im a Michigan fan.
This starts with Day / Kelly piss poor play calling. Why you two is avoiding the elephant in the room
Zvada had no problem kicking a 50+ yard bomb in the wind. It’s always something.
The coaches failed not the players. Not sure what the offensive game plan was
All of the complaining about the offensive gameplan doesnt make sense to me.
It was time to move on from Day after last year, now there is no doubt.
The game plan is it!! No adjustments. Exploit your enemies weakness!! Ryan and Chip. Nothing else
I compare this past Saturdays game like this, Ryan Days 2024 Chevy Camaro lost a race to Sherrone Moores 1981 Yugo
Yeah, but the 2024 Camaro ended up being a 1LS with the 2.0L 4cyl and not the ZL1 with 650hp like in the sales brochure
Bucks you're killing me man that's good
Why did these guys come back for this debacle. The coaches needed to give the best receiving corps in NCAAF a chance to win this game when the running game stalled.
Michigan broke Ryan Day and most if not all of your fans including Joel Klatt😂😂
I rewatched the draw play that led to 0 yards, the problem was that OSU tried to single block Mason Graham and Graham easily went around the block to make the tackle- really just shouldn't have tried to run anything inside the tackles
This season is over. How can anyone have confidence in day& kelly at this point
Shh... "I know we have the best recieving corps in college footbal but... We're gonna trick 'em and RUN the football all FN day! They'll never expect that... right guys!?" 🤣(Geeze!) - Let's usher in the new Mike Vrabel era... Born and raised a "Buckeye!"
😂 unfortunately very true!
Will this be another post-season in which we almost win a game?
#fireday. Anything other than that is loser mentality. Next man up. If he cant beat this version of UM, what team will he beat
See if you could throw 15 million at Dan Lanning and get him
What happened to Leave No Doubt Mantra ?
12:56 really disappointed that Schlegs didn’t have an XSport mouthguard to model for us like usual.
Even the best team, without a sound plan, can't score. -Woody Hayes
Go Blue 💙
I’ll do it and beat Michigan for 2 million a year.
You may hear day sucks instead of go bucks. Cause it’s true.
Rent-free, HAIL TO THE VICTOR'S GO BLUE 〽️.
Why can’t we run between the tackles? That’s a deeper issue.
I don’t understand why Devin wasn’t given that series. Howard wasn’t right. Maybe the plan would have switched up and we gain momentum. It forced a switch up in the game plan. It’s sad, all together.
Maybe Andy Katzenmoyer should coach the team- I hear he's available now since he lost his greeter job at Walmart.
You sound like you’re in third grade.👀👀👀
I still can’t believe it
This loss was another example of Day refusing to learn and adapt from his mistakes, which he always seems ro make during the biggest games and during the most important moments. He still doesn't have a reliable Kicker and he would have a Natty Ring if he had one 2 seasons ago, when it mattered. Day's fake tough guy offensive game plan was pathetic, which shows he still hasn't learned why he had to give up calling plays.
This was nothing like the peach bowl.
Here is what I say. Ryan , win the natty to keep ur job. Let's see next games offense. Gotta believe bro !
Environment, check, player emotion, check, gameplan and cosching? ABSOLUTELY NOT CHECKED!
Interesting observation: the first year of the BCS we won the natty. The first year of a I think a 4 team playoff system we won the natty. Now its a12 team system hmmmm
4 in a row
10 yards in the 4th quarter, at home, in the Shoe.
One last thing! Ryan day has to run the table the rest of the way out, by winning the national championship, to save his job, I believe, however it will be tainted in the end!
Tired of hearing our own fans bitching about the defense, they didn’t lose that damn game!!! They played their asses off and Ryan Day abandoned them!!
Talk the talk better walk the walk Ryan Day 👍
Some fans only care about beating TTUN, some care about post season only some the trifecta (beat TTUN, Big 10 Championship AND national title run). It all matters in this landscape to me.
Players and recruits nowadays here at OSU care about the natty. Until culture changes that’s all they will mostly care about especially the non-Ohio guys. It is what it is.
Just want to see OSU win period. Their is a coaching problem starts with Day? Need to consider a new Head Coach? Day plays not to lose needs to play to win period. Day is a good coach but so was John Copper? But not true Buckeyes! Go Buckeyes!
One thing for sure you wait on Michigan. they will dictate the game and that is what happened.
