Very cute! My 3 years old mini schnauzer does the same thing pulling the leash sometimes. Schnauzers are the best! Very smart breed with selective hearing sometimes.😅

My mini started settling down right around a year and pretty much became the perfect dog, but until then... I remember telling my wife once, "All I wanted was a normal dog!", lol.
DebtFreeStacker I got him from a breeder in Idaho. Standards are hard to find in many areas. Thank you also about his manner. He is very strong willed and smart. He was a handful for the 1st year. He is such an amazing dog now and worth it. 😀
@@carlapeterson3683 thank you for the info! Yes, the standards are hard to find. Im looking to find the right one for the future. Currently have a 2 year old Maltese who doesn't like to go for a long walk and I end up carrying him. Looking to add another one to the fam.
@@usa4life71 They definitely can be a wonderful watch dog. They need LOTS of socialization. Any schnauzer for that that matter. I have only know a few.
@Carla Peterson I keep looking around for breeds of dog I like and I keep coming back to the standard Schnauzer. I like the mini, but it is too small. I like dogs closer to the 50lb mark... similar to the Standard. I think the Giant Schnauzer is too agressive and independent for my tastes. I feel like the Standard Schnauzer brings the best of both the mini and Giant at a decent size.
@@usa4life71 yep I totally agree 100%. My standard was a lot more work training him than our mini. They are stubborn. He is friendlier. He guards our house and sounds really mean if someone is at the door. He is okay once he gets a smell of them but nobody in their right mind would enter with his reaction. Continually working on it.

Yes, it seems like they do start to settle down at about a year. Cash definitely did. After he turned two, he's has really become a great dog.

Yes we did. I think he was about 5 months.

How do you feel about the Giant Schnauzer? After seeing your Standard maybe I'll rethink my choice,
I think giants are absolutely beautiful! We debated on which one to get. Maybe someday we will have a giant. I love them.
