Currently doing an F1 1997 championship in AMS2, as F1 97 on my dads PS1 was basically where it all started for me. So great to come back to this and race on the old layouts of Silverstone and Hockenheim again :)
@@lwd107 I personally don’t care about the looks as much as the physics and the ability to play online with friends against ai. More games need this and I like that the AMS series hasn’t taken that away from us.
I think they have changed there options on the site, there’s a subscription fee before you can download anything. Is there any other sites that do car skins?
Need help! I did exactly as you did, but it seems like this method only lets you have one set of custom liveries for that specific car. Specifically my dad wanted a multiple livery mods for the McLaren 720s GT3, but we can only get one separate download from RaceDepartment on the game and if we try to add another one, that one replaces the one I added beforehand. The same went for me when I tried downloading some Formula 1 mods as well. 2007 is my favourite F1 Season of all time (as Kimi Räikkönen is my all time favourite Formula 1 driver) but I also wanted to add the 2001 season as well… both seasons are under the V10 category. But if I add 2007 first and then 2001, the 2001 replaces the 2007 outright, so essentially I have to pick one or the other. Is there a way around this, to where I can add as many mods as I want at the same time? Or do I have to go into the game files and add the specific mod that I want to race each time and sacrifice another mod in the process? I’m kind of new to the PC world, been a console player almost my entire life. Just got my PC about half a year ago and I’m just now beginning to understand how to mod for the F1 23 game… so modding for AMS2 and Assetto Corsa Competizione has been a lot trickier to figure out. I know it’s technically “easier” since I don’t need to EGO application for AMS2 and ACC like I do for F1 23… but at least with F1 23 I can add multiple mods at the same time and it has generally been a lot easier to figure out.
Really good job on the tutorial 👏 I was just speaking about this the other day on the ams2 community groups the fact that it’s such a mess about to enable car mods absolutely puts me off I will be only tempted once someone simplifies the process. As for the skins and AI names it’s a game changer makes it feel way more like reality there’s some amazing gt3 and dpi imsa packs
Not the first time I read one of your comments. You should give a try, everyone says it looks harder than it really is! You should be able to do it too!
Stupid question from a newbie: When you just drag and drop the files so that they overwrite the old ones; what do you have to do when you have let's say 3 mods downloaded (F1 1975, F1 1976, F1 1977 as an example) that use the same original file? Do I need to change the file every time I want another year or can I put them all toghter in this root file and choose in game the correct mods? I'm not keen on trying out as, well, as I said,.. I'm a newbie :-)
F1 & CART skins (& driver AI info) are crazily easy to do, I’m gonna wait with cars, I wonder if it’ll be made easier in the future, or hope so anyway!
So has it gotten any easier after 2 years? I just bought AMS2 and am eager to learn about modding. Specifically getting this years IndyCar tracks and cars.
The skins and AI are easy to install and def add to immersion. On paper the mod cars sound great and could really amp up the class sizes in AMS2, but the reality is they are pretty much only street cars as that seems to be the only thing the modders are interested in making so anyone expecting TCR cars, other formula cars, vintage racing cars, modern GT cars, yester year GT cars, Group Cs etc, tone those expectations down at this point in time.
@@OverTake_gg I'm the modder of the Alpine, and if you check my channel, you can see what I'm currently working on. Trackday cars for now. But soon GT3 too (not ingame for now), and maybe vintage race cars later. But it takes a lot of time!
Thank you for this great video! Do you know if dual clutch paddles work in AMS2? I just picked them up along with AMS2 and based on an iRacing video on how to set the clutch bite point, I dont think they are working as intended. The paddles work, I just don't think the programming is doing what they need to do or I'm obviously doing something wrong! Thank you!
Great tutorial. It all worked still the update from ams 2. Then the game crashed at start race. So I installed ams 2 again. Do I have to wait on bootfiles 1.3.3 x before I can add ods again?
ive done exactly what you have said but the skins for ultimate f1 gen 2 are not showing up in game. is there an in game option i have to change to allow mods to work?
if you get frustrated installing take a break, maybe ask a friend for help, because in the end it will be totally worth it! I have so much fun playing the indycar from race department
Great mod, but only when i use the mod, i get blank screen for a few seconds, disable the mod and game runs smooth. Any ideas why this happens or something I can try? Thanks
What about installing a second car after a first one. Is that gonna a different boot file to installed after the second car or is it the same boot file we have install after insyalling both cars? Cheers
ah the old days of nfs shift mods :) and every game use JSgme but most of tutorial is like old days of nfs shift mods , i hope they add install manager like rf2
so, if u find a skin for F12022, just add the folder? what if u got a new skin for F1 2001 or a other car? will the old skin from f1 2022 be replaced ?
What if installed an ai and skin pack for the new F1 2022 car and would then like to play multiplayer, will the game crash, or will I still be able to play the multiplayer?
The alpine is great, Just tried it on Curitiba, such fun. But when I tried adding the viper, same method, the mod shows in game, but then game crashes. I added the physics lines just above the Alpine in same file. Have you any tips? And many thanks again, alpine is probably more fun racing anyway
Hello, first of all, thank you for your great efforts and explanations :). I have a question about the 1991 mod season, I bought the official DLC Brazilian Legends and I don't dare to install the 1991 mod, can the DLC cause overlaps or problems? Thank you very much for your help and you have a subscription from me :)..... Best regards Sandro.
I was about to choose ams 1 to buy cuse 2 got no mods, but this wil change that Btw its only matter of time till its just steam workshop clicking 1 button
Nothing in this video works. I tried it lots of times. Spent hours in front of my pc. I watched this video 10 , 15 times. And absolutely nothing works. The game is exactly the same. Nothing changed.
I'm not a fan of mods. If the original devs stop creating upgrades then that should be the end of it. I appreciate that it means users are getting additional content for free (or should be free), but If I owned a Ferrari that needed a tune up, I'm not taking it to Jimmy down the street just because he's a mechanic who doesn't charge a fortune!
This is just too much. Too much navigating to just drive one car. I think I my opinion it's rubbish, I was put off instantly when I seen all this madness. Nice game tho. Imagine someone who is not handy with computers 😂
This is absolutely terrible. If these guys know how to make these "hacks" it shouldn't be difficult to make it more consumer approachable. I'd rather go and get another Master's Degree and raise my son than go through all of this for a video game.

F1 '97!!! Same here!!! What a game, eh?!
This changes everything! I hope AMS open up official mod support one day! Thanks!
Nice lets hope for a Content Manager for AMS2
Man....how awesome would that be. Huge AC fan but the graphics are getting a bit dated.

Bootfiles are no longer required. AMS2 now allows for drag and drop of cars.
Read the details in the game folder.
Great vid. Looking forward muchly to trying out some of these mods. Thanks!
Thanks! Hope you enjoy! 🙏
The AMS2 skinpacks are great. They work so well for historic racing.
Thank you! Great video and really easy to follow
Vielen dank, that worked a treat. Some very nice modes to check out. Cheers
Which are the first mods you will install in AMS2? 😉
Hi Joe

Yeah. This doesn’t look like mods are officially supported. People just found a way to make a few mods. Same situation as pCars.
I think they have changed there options on the site, there’s a subscription fee before you can download anything. Is there any other sites that do car skins?
"Completly free!!" Then I gotta pay a membership. Did you ever figure out anotger site?

I assume the mods do not work in Multiplayer?
So you can only have 1 mod car at a time?
I can't seem to change the AI names to the correct drivers. F1 2000 cars with weird driver names? Help!!
thanks mate
