96 buildings & 6 floors. I pass thru there often. It aint as bad as it used to be. This guy wouldnt even think of walking thru there about 30 years ago.
@@RebelLyfeBoxing80 not saying people from around there wouldve gotten disrespectful with him anything of that nature but they would've had their antennas up wondering why is this dude walking around with a camera recording.
Co-op City with over 40K residents is indeed way larger than Queensbridge. However, Co-op City is not publicly funded housing (i.e., not "projects"). Rents in co-op are close to market value (though controlled/stabilized for long-time residents), plus new residents have to buy in. Meanwhile, Queensbridge is subsidized, with very low rents for residents to pay averaging in $400s monthly (exact amount fluctuates based on income and number of people living in apartment).
They have more drugs in Queensbridge than the adjoining East River has water. I was born there during the 1940s . One night there was an all night gang fight in full view of the 41 side of Vernon Blvd. I remember my Dad's reaction. ''We're outta here ''' !!!!(1953).
For projects, it has a pretty low crime rate and hardly any higher than non-project NYC neighborhoods. And it definitely had a safe feel. Even with a camera in my hand, I felt as safe walking there as I would in a retirement community.
@@RurbanWalker that’s absolutely amazing, you can come to any neighborhood where I’m from (Baltimore Md) and wouldn’t be able to walk through with your camera like that or just being white in the wrong place and that’s your ass. Truly amazing stuff, thank you
You just got lucky !!! I knew some QB criminals who would rob you for a $5 bill at the drop of a hat. A ''thristy'' crack addict is no trivial matter. Don't try it again Walker. You won't be so lucky next time. You were definitely on the ''wrong side of the tracks''. @@RurbanWalker
Thank you for this
Good Job
@@MrRepsMrReps thanks
7000 people living within 6 city blocks? That’s a recipe for conflict.
