Well, AFGC has made the CORRECT decision before the 2024 season on limiting days for early speck season to 9 days and concurrent with duck hunting days plus 2 speck daily limit. Outfitters in Arkansas were on the path of running specks out of their state just like Louisiana has done, and the same for the Quota Zone days in states N of Arkansas on hunting Canadas. It may look like this resource is unlimited, but gotta REMEMBER at one time Arkansas didn’t kill 4,500 specks a season back in ‘91 when Louisiana killed over 60K. Now Arkansas is No.2 in speck harvest across the country, and Louisiana has dropped to below half of what they killed in 2001 (which was 97K). Goose hunting is for everyone to enjoy, not just about the cash in your pocket. Glad AFGC made this decision as they took alotta flak for doing so.
