"Head Over Heels" and "Sowing The Seeds Of Love" are both amazing! (STSOF is basically a Beatles tribute).
That's how I felt when i first heard this. This is from their 2nd album and we couldn't wait for another from them after The Hurting. Did not disappoint.
Women in Chains.
Mad World.
Sewing the Seeds of Love
Everybody Wants to Rule the World
Head Over Heels.
Mad World is incredible
I second Woman in Chains!
Pale Shelter!...
This is a perfect example of how to build a song up layer by layer as the song progresses . Amazing. I’m surprised you haven’t listened to this already.
This whole album is absolutely flawless, and very instrumental in developing my taste of music. It’s worth a listen beginning to end. So glad you enjoyed this!
Tears for fears, so good! They know just the right instrument to use for a solo and the time it to put it in
Talk about memories.... wow! I can remember listening to this album for hours! It's definitely a rabbit hole to dive into... you will not be disappointed! 🥁 🎸 🎶 🎵 🎤 🎙
AMEN
One of my favorite groups.
This album is one of my favorites of my life, incredible album, so creative, arrangements, the voices of Roland and Curt, just a perfect album, and an eternal classic
I saw them live for this album concert tour. When they sang this one, everybody in the palladium was singing the chorus and it was great.
Please go down this rabbit hole
This is one of the songs that absolutely transports me back to the mid 1980s. It's one of the defining songs of the 80s, and you can't help but sing along with it.
Great CD/Album for working!! I loved listening to it while screen printing a giant stack of tshirts!! Kept everything rolling along! And if you're working with the right person...a nice sing along is a nice way to work! Turn it up!!
This song was the perfect song for driving to Coronado Beach in San Diego back in the day for bonfires on Friday nights! Wind blowing through the car and this song on blast. Great song!
This album was huge in 1985. Besides "Shout", the other Billboard #1 from this album is "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" - which was one of the biggest hits of the year.
Great group, & still sound great today.
Tears for Fears are an English pop rock band formed in 80's. Their 2 biggest hits are "Everybody Wants To Rule The World" & "Shout". They had other songs such as "Mad World", "Change", "Pale Shelter", "The Way You Are", "Mothers Talk", "Head Over Heels", "I Believe", "Sowing The Seeds Of Love", "Woman In Chains" etc.
Also had a beef with Wham
Hey, Dagmar!
I love Tears for Fears. They were huge for a few years in the 80's. So many great songs, but I think "Woman in Chains" is my favorite. It's a masterpiece!
They still write and perform together.
Great reaction, Sal! So glad you got to this. As people have said, really great band, tons of incredible songs (Pale Shelter is my fav). Also think their musicianship is low key underrated. Roland in particular is an fantastic singer and guitarist. And Curt is no slouch on that bass!! 😆 And always so well produced.
I knew you'd love this song. Now you need to hear Woman in Chains from their Seeds of Love album. It is considered by engineers, one of the best mixed songs ever. And it's a total delight. Woman in Chains is the total package.
It's truly beautiful. One of my favorite songs ever.
@@orphu88 Me too, it's really breathtaking
I think you’re going to love this group as much as I and so many others here did 40+ years ago.
One of the greatest and most emotion laden recordings of all time. Stadium shmadium.
so many great tracks from these guys! they trip me out all the time, stunning music and bang on vocals.
for a side view of them please look at woman in chains with oletta adams, simply stunning.
Another good band from that era Simple Minds.
I got to see them live at a small punk club in Houston them and the Ramones I believe it was. Obviously before they hit the charts and stardom on MTV.
EXQUISITE I KNOW. WATCH THE VIDEO and you will see where THAT- guitar sole came from. I am 63 LOVE LOVE LOVE this song since it broke.
Omg I just realized you're soooooo close to 100k subs!! 🎉❤
Also never noticed how long this song was... ahh 80s.
My favorite 1980s song.
I still own this Vinyl, got it for Xmas my freshman year! #80sRock.
Listen and, unusually, the US remix of Mothers Talk. Oh, and Break it Down Again when Orzabal was effectively solo Tears.
CONGRATULATIONS ON 100,000 SUBSCRIBERS! 🐐
If you like this one, you'll love the next track that follows it, The Working Hour. Beautifully written and played. Theres not a duffer on the whole album, very strong album.
"Everybody Wants To Rule The World" -- You need to listen to that one
People always forget about Tears For Fears - truly one of the greatest bands ever. i agree with the person below - this album and Sowing the Seeds are perfection.
Should have seen the video
Yes, a protest song. For me, it's a protest song about my narcissist in-laws. I know that might sound lame and ridiculous, but for me it is definitely not. I wasn't married yesterday; it's been decades. Before you put down a comment asking "why?", it's so, so complicated. My fingers don't have the time to go into it.
Anyway, it's like a therapy song for me. To shout. To release anger. My favorite memory is from New Year's Eve 1987 whit me and my sister-in-law belting this out. Cathartic.

4:52 (single version)
3:59 (U.S. single version)
This is one of the greatest songs and one of the greatest bands of the 80s. "Everybody Wants To Rule The World" is as big a hit, if not better, than "Shout". Definitely a band worth diving into.
This is New Wave and synth-pop. This is definitely not stadium rock. A guitar solo in and of itself is not automatically "stadium rock". The rest of the song has to be Rock. Prince had songs w guitar solos but he isn't considered as stadium rock, the way Aerosmith, Def Leppard, or Journey are.
FRom a time when songs were more than just 2 minutes loops of computer generated backing tracks with a simple vocal line on top .... the late 60s to the 90s was a great time in music ... not so much since.
Thanks for the great reaction to a super-cool song. I think there's an Apple Fairlight computer in there, too. Another classic from them is Head Over Heel. It has a charming official video, too.
I recommend watching the video dude, you'll get into it even more.
TFF were legit.
Go right for the throat. My absolute favorite Tears for Fears song. But they have lots of great music. The Songs from the Big Chair album is 80's perfection.
🖤
I was 11 when this album was released. Ten years ago, I would have put it near the bottom of my top 10 all-time albums (favouring mostly newer stuff) but now I think it's probably top 5. It just never fails to impress with every listen. 'The Working Hour' (the next track) is magnificent - although almost all of them are.
Thanks for doing the full version of the song. A lot of reactors just do the radio edit, which cuts out some great parts.
5:56 ❤😂❤
I'm still waiting to hear "Shout" in a SC Johnson advertisement for its laundry stain remover. No brainer, right? Love your reactions.
Hey man, love your channel. Great tune to check out is “Space Junk” by Wang Chung. It was the tank scene in the first episode of The Walking Dead?
By the way they are still singing. The broke up for a while but are back together.
Do Sowing the seeds of love & Advices for the young at heart. Video too
So many good songs by these guys. Check out "Mothers Talk" a song that just doesn't get noticed anymore
I heard it during the album review, really liked it
Great band, great song. I loved their 1st album, and respect how much they grew as song writers over time. The "stadium rock" label, though, isn't well placed.
My senior year in HS.
Plz plz plz Ignore genre category! You end up bubbling yourself into music silo that you never get out of and you end up not hear artist that just make music.
Check out "Women in chains"and "Mad world".
Saw this band in 1982 when they released Mad World, they were backing the Thompson Twins...the venue was not that big....
Tip: Woman in Chains
Why didn’t you watch the official video?
Sir, you really should do Broken/Head over heels/ Broken live from the album. It's epic!
Loved your reaction here.
Live, you say?
