The F14 is such an amazing plane. Probably the most capable fighter the US ever fielded.. such a shame.. even after retiring them all, it would have been a treat to see them fly again. Last time I saw one fly was during a US military airshow in the 90s... Seeing one fly over, wings out, loud and quick... we stayed in Afghanistan for 20 years helping build infastructure and pouring a trillion dollars. It wasnt a military failure on the part of the US, it was a political failure. The US tried to give the Afghani people the security and infastructure it needed to operate on its OWN (or will less help) and it wasnt enough, they were overrun even after 20 years of training. @umbrellastudio7481 well it was either eradicate a large percentage of the population or pull out. They also left all that equipment because the talaban hates Iran and has been using it to attack all the us enemies in the area since they left. I personally think it was part of a back door deal. They even ran security together on the last days to fight of Isis

we stayed in Afghanistan for 20 years helping build infastructure and pouring a trillion dollars. It wasnt a military failure on the part of the US, it was a political failure. The US tried to give the Afghani people the security and infastructure it needed to operate on its OWN (or will less help) and it wasnt enough, they were overrun even after 20 years of training. Its not as simple as Win or Loss. The situation was and is far more complex than that.@umbrellastudio7481
