- The dome (cupola) that covers the Florence cathedral (the Santa Maria del Fiore cathedral) is known as Filippo Brunelleschi’s dome. Arguably one of the most outstanding architectural achievements of the whole Renaissance.
Thank you for filming this & sharing it! I'm claustrophobic and I'm worried it will not be the best decision for me to try to climb all 463 steps!!
Just did this on Tuesday. It is not for the faint of heart. 😱
If you suffer from fear of heights or claustrophobia, this is not for you. It is grueling but really thrilling and totally worth the effort.
What a great video, thank you!
I've seen UA-cam videos of people climbing the dome and the stairs were packed with people. How did you manage to do it when it looks like no one was there. Early in the morning?
Hi - did they give you any issues with bringing bags with you during the climb? i read they can be pretty strict.
I'm climbing it next week but this gave me a little bit of vertigo.
Any guesses on how many steps to the platform to see the Last Judgement. That’s all I want to do
Duomo means cathedral not dome. Dome is cupola.
