Hello from the internet! That was me because my name literally is "Cryptogenic" which means "Comes from is unknown" in the context that it's a compound latin word with comprised of the words "Crypto" ~ "Unknown" and "genic" ~ "Comes From"
So when asked I tell people I'm from the internet. It's like being really close and yet really far away at the same time.
I am learning how to do Stained Glass and watching your technique for pointers. I really like watching you work!

Hi again from Montana. My husband took a class and taught me over 30 years ago. Then came babies, and moving. Everything fit into one milk crate. Kids grow and move out, I bought a lot from garage sales, now it takes a full room in my house. Your demos are good. It's good to watch you work.

Thank you from The Netherlands again. I was listening to this while soldering on a few suncatchers I’m making as a gift for friends. Love all stories relating to glass and people’s personal experiences around it. I prefer working with lead btw and if you ever need tips or tricks just let me know ;)

Hey, Cody from Ky. Watching this takes me back to when I was making custom glass inserts for doors and windows. I'm still working on getting everything I need to get started making my own stained glass.

It's so good to hear your story. Here's mine. I am 78, a baker by trade in Canada even today. As a young boy in India I was always fascinated with the colored glass in churches. Moved to Canada in 1990. One day in 2001 my wife mentioned that she wanted me to make a stained glass clock as a gift. So began my journey, totally raw and clueless. Every person in this craft laughed at me and told me how over ambitious (and foolish) I was. But then by sheer chance I met Naomi Chapman who did equestrian stained glass. She loaned me books and gave me the glass. I bought the other odds and ends. I had two months to learn the basics and Naomi was the greatest mentor I ever had. God Bless you, Naomi Chapman. I got a ring saw in 2005. Around 2010 I had to stop my glass work to look after my wife and our parents. Between 2021 and this year they passed away. I now live in a small apartment and hope to gradually get back where I left off. Any advice from any of you viewers would be greatly appreciated.
By the way, to all of you in the stained glass craft a big God Bless 🙏🙏

enjoyed your story. Thank you for sharing. I am learning how to handle retirement by trying different things. Have taken up gardening, piano lessons, growing violets and Christmas Cactus and now stained glass. Really into learning. I have the hardest time foiling. I have tried hand foiling, table foiler, and Gladstar foiler. My problem is getting the foil even on both sides. You seem to make it so effortless. I envy your skill.

At 78 I still find myself working, although just 3 days a week, as a baker. I don't know if I could handle total retirement but I am starting my glass work once again. Do give it a try. Although it's very different from gardening and piano, I find it very therapeutic.

Foiling is a matter of patience and in due course you will develop your own way of doing it. Perhaps you are trying to foil heavily textured glass. If so, try and get a ripple bit for your grinder. You can use this bit for your regular glass as well and it will make your foiling a lot more enjoyable. Good Luck from Ontario, Canada.

Still chilling with your videos-watching from AZ. Glad to see that you came back after some time away. We should collaborate. I don’t mind foiling, but I despise grinding. 😂

I think BC is a great place for stained glass. I live in Newmarket, Ontario and was looking for parts for my Taurus2.2 ring saw. Fusion Glass in Kelowna were very helpful and they are mailing me the parts. A big shout out to them.

Hello from Ontario, Canada. Hope you have started your wonderful stained glass journey. Like many of us, one day you will have your own story. Remember you are not alone and the stained glass "community" is very helpful. Good luck.
