I'm a survivor of stage 3 rectal cancer. The chemo and radiation killed the cancer, but did a lot of damage, especially below the beltline. I couldn't pass a field sobriety test to save my life. There but for the grace of God go I.

Field Sobreity test are not there to "clear you." They are there to give the Officer more evidence if you try and fight a the charge in court.
You are absolutely able to refuse doing it, and you should even if you're stone sober.
Never, and I mean NEVER agree to do one, it can only hurt you as they are going to test your breath even if you do everything right.

That cop should have been fired. If he wasn't, there is a problem with that town he works for...If they tolerate a pattern like that. they are accomplices...

I got a dui being sober. I was pulled over and the cop asked about weed. I was stupid and told him the truth, i hadn't smoked since the night before, about 12 hours ago. Apparently within 24 hours of smoking you can be arrested for dui if your driving. This was 12 years ago so i dont know if laws have changed but yeah that sucked.

They really need to get rid of a cop's immunity in some instances. I hope these people sue them, but the only thing bad about that is that the money doesn't come out of the cop's pocket. It really should so that they think twice before ever falsely accusing someone of a crime.
