The Cass Scenic Railroad is a wonderful forest railroad over in Cass, West Virginia. This is a wonderful ride behind Cass Scenic Railroad Shay #11 (Built by Lima Locomotive Works in July 1923). There are also other locomotives like Cass Scenic Railroad Shay #5 (Built by Lima Locomotive Works in November 1905, as the Oldest Operational Shay Steam Locomotive in the World).
From my photos it looks like we had Shay 11! But it was such a great trip! And it would be great to head back to take another ride some time in the future!
