Would you believe I put this when it was released on distinctinve in Sasha and John's hands in Hong Kong? It showed up on Northern Exposure album as last track. I didn't discover this record by any stretch another chap did. for me anyway. Lee

After 25 years this song accasionally just pops up in my head. Magical
Late 90s through late 2000s was the golden-age of trance and progressive IMO.
That loop of bells (or keyboard) that starts from the beginning and really shines at 1:10 is an incredibly feel good tone. That shit makes me want to leave my body and exit through my eyes.
Into a world made of warm and soft lighting, free emotions, and the essence of chill.
It's a sample from Bob James' 1978 recording "Touchdown". Hybrid didn't sample it directly from there though - they're using the same sped up, looped sample that DJ Premier used on his remix of "Keep Steppin'" by Omar, which came out in 1994 (two years before "Symphony").
I thought finished symphony was good... This is legendary!
This is a true masterpiece. The best electronic track that I've ever heard.

Absolute gem of a tune. Hybrid, as their name suggests, really could mix classical music with contemporary beats. An absolute pinnacle of the nineties sound and an astounding achievement that sounds so much more intricate than most of the 'dance' music these days! Very talented guys!

I downloaded this song back in 1998 on Limewire while in highschool thinking it was some kind of classical modern symphony hybrid thingy coz I loved classical symphonies at the time, and this was my gateway to trance and progressive. Still hits like the first time

1999, I had bought Euphoria vol 1 on cassette. On a ski trip at the age of 15 driving through Switzerland listening to this on my Panasonic Walkman. This tune came into the mix. I didn't just see beauty that day.. I heard it too.
This is actual the MP3 from the digital re-release of the vinyl by Distinctive. I have the Northern Exposure 2 CD compilation as well, but that version is about 30 seconds longer and contains a portion of Gus Gus' "Purple."
So no, this is not a bluff.
Northern Exposure 2 might be the greatest mix of all time...
There is no doubt about it. The greatest mix that has stood the test of time. The track selection is otherworldly with so many gems that were ahead of their time

When it comes to a song you've loved for years, I can't get enough of these obscure details. It took me long enough to learn that Symphony came before Finished Symphony, and that there were different versions of that as well.

I've never really heard the 2nd half of this track after the first orchestral climax and usually it fades into Binary Finary's '1998' remix by Matt Darey.... Such an epic trance classic!!

Well this song did came to Juiced in 2005 but it was a different version.

This is the original version of the song from 1996, the more famous Finished Symphony version came out in 1999
I'm sorry hate me or not but when I discovered this on vinyl (which some idiot friend of my lost when I was moving and held onto my vinyls)

This came before Finished Symphony in 1999. This is from 1996 and was remixed By DJ Sasha in that time period. In Finished Symphony the Orchestral Elements are real and not synthesized.

@@grawey77 him mixing the track in a compilation is basically transitioning over and to (Sasha & Digweed whom, imo, have some of the best transitioning skills in mixing). Does it necessarily mean he made it into his OWN version? Therefore it cannot be his remix.
@@doncarloancelotti2256 I understand the concept of a remix and I deleted my comment because I was off base to a degree. Sasha always gave the original artist credit. In the Album: Northern Exposure 2 (East Coast Edition), Hybrids Symphony was at the end, but just mixed in and unmodified. This was in 1997. I own a remixed version of Symphony which has a more dramatic beginning and is heavier throughout. Year unknown.
