Tamiya MAN TGX - Project Ainscough - Ep12 - Nooxion Fury Bear Ballast Trailer - 4k

- So, I have had the NOOXION (Fury Bear) 6 axle ballast trailer delivered. first impression is that it's a good quality trailer, but the assembly really needs a visit from QC as an awful lot of the screws and bolts were very loose. As I looked at it, it seemed OK on the face of it, but after I started the wiring, I kept seeing areas where whoever assembled it really cut corners and I found missing bolts and missing internal parts.
I recorded a lot more but, again, I had a few corrupt files which I've put down to the memory card being worn from constant overwriting. Anyway, I had to disassemble it so I could get the wiring how I wanted it. The supplied lighting kit seemed as though it was only compatible with the NOOXION Light Kit which I do not have, and to be honest, it wasn't going to be how I wanted it anyway, so I've had to work out what I wanted and how I wanted it to work and then draw out a wiring diagram so the trailer wiring would be compatible with the Tamiya MFC-03 which is fitted in the truck that this trailer is intended for.

The trailer appears a perfect fit for Teri Wilde RC and Project Ainscough. A good design & manufacture, maybe not so good assembly, but the attention to detail looks superb. The retractable tie-down points, break drums, bearings, decking, metal spars, etc etc .. what a joy to look forward to, an exciting adventure build continues, well done and thanks as always. The control system for the steering, presumably some sort of potentiometer driving the servo, interesting and a good solution. Look forward to see future development and your thoughts.
Well I’ll be the first one to say you are my hero to take apart a $2000 trailer but we see y but on that 5th wheel well it’s tacky but cut a thin price of Teflon and glue it in or finding something that fit over the square piece on the trailer🧐🧐
I made a couple of alterations to the trailer as well, call it brave, call it stupid, or just call it progress. I was always going to make changes to it anyway. maybe I have more money than sense... lol
I kind of took the decision to swap out the MFC 5th wheel on the truck because of the sliding 5th wheel plate would be hampered by the coupler switch cable. I have to get back into the trucks MFC wiring for the trailer lights. and I'm now thinking that I could still use the MFC 5th wheel because I won't be moving the slider that often. There are 5 different Tamiya 5th wheels so I'm sure one of them will fit the switch and not have such a wide V. we'll see where that goes when the trailer wiring is done.
@@TeriWilde o no maté it’s call making it better 👍👍👍
What a trailer would like to have one look forward to next installment well done worth watching 10 out 10
it's not quite as straight forward as you'd think. it needed a new king pin and a lot of work to get the trailer lights wired up.
Wow Nice trailer !
Nice trailer Teri 👍
Teri, me Mate.... that took stones to take that apart!! Obviously necessary, though, as their inability to tighten screws properly was an issue.
They SHOULD note that their 5th wheel pin is for aftermarket Alumininium 5th wheels only, and incompatible with Tamiya.... the single largest variety of Trucks on Earth.
They should have made it a self assemble kit rather than a factory assembled kit because it really needed stripping down and rebuilding. It's as dry as a bone with no grease or oil in the important places..... all part of the hobby...👍
❤ lindo demais 👋👋👋👋👋👋👋
What is the turn table called what goes into 5th wheel to controll servo please
it's just a rear steer 5th wheel turntable with a wedge... I have no idea if there's a technical name for it.
Glue two peices of styrene to the MFC fifth wheel both sides to get rid of the slack
great suggestion. it's certainly an option for a permanent fix, one I am considering.
I was thinking of making a temporary solution if any of my friends want to pull the trailer and have a MFC 5th wheel fitted to their truck.
Nice piece of kit Amazing really. Are you going to paint the trailer to match?
I was going to, but the new Tamiya 8x4 Scania S770 release might mean I go for Ainscough current livery. If I stick with the 2008 colours, I will wrap the trailer in vinyl and look at a new set of wheels... I really don't want to anodise, paint, or powder coat the wheels at this point in time.
The trailer cost a little too much to make a huge visible change to it.
Hi where do you get trailer parts for a low loader.I would love to try a build a gooseneck trailer if can find plans to go from.it’s bits like the small wheels.wish tamiya did more trailers
I agree, Tamiya should do more trailers.
I'm not sure where to get low loader parts to build your own, it's not something I've done.
Sorry another question I think the suspension on the trucks is no good.the axels don’t move freely enough like a real truck.see trucks on here a there suspension moves, great when going over uneven ground.a reacts fast the kit that come with them nothing like that.see on eBay kits with airbags but don’t show how well they move if do.or airbags just for show.have you ever upgraded your trucks suspension to get more movement.tamiya should take a leaf or leaf’s out a fit oil shocks like there car kits with less oil so get more movement then.kind regards Glynn
Google gallinger they got some 3d print files and stuff, im looking into it as well
wow that's a nice bit of kit , does it need anything painting ??
I was hoping it would be Blue but it's an option from the manufacturer only, I got this trailer from stock from an agent.... I think I'm going to leave this one stock colour because Tamiya have released a new heavy hauler which I'm tempted to buy to update from the 2008 company livery to the current livery.
hi how much does the trailer itself weigh thanks
about 14kg after I fitted all the extras
@@TeriWilde thank you very much for your answer
At $2000.00 id complain about that damage let them deal with the courier service dam your to easy
I'm far from ''easy''..., I just wanted to crack on with the project without the hassle. what needed to be done was far quicker to rectify than send messages to and fro. I did let them know about the issues and they gave me a HUGE discount for my next order which I took advantage of.
@@TeriWilde I get that been there but still I'd of taken pics and tried to get something out of it
@@leewilliams9904 yep, I did take photos, and contacted them, and I got a huge discount with my next order. without the hassle of returning it.
