Jazak Allahu Khairan akhi for putting these lessons together....I am learning and re-learning my aqeedah thanks to you may Allah reward you and your family. Just a comment about people who don't believe Allah is above the heavens and is everywhere....how then does he DESCEND to the first heaven during the last part of every night?
Salam brother Mussab, is there any book or article that is translated to English (im very bad in Arabic language) that address the matters about especially asya'irah and maturidiyyah that you know of that you recommend for me? Here in Malaysia it is said/understood that asya'irah, maturidiyyah, and salaf (most of the ignorant people here call us wahabi) is a part of Ahlul Sunnah. May Allah grant you goodness and make you from amongst His righteous servants and whom He loves.
Bro, I agree that of course we should not assume or speak about Allah that which we do not know. Therefore, how can you assume and say with apparent certainty that when the Prophet s.a.w pointed to the sky that does not mean that Allah is everywhere? The truth is that we do not know what the meaning of him pointing to the sky in that instance means, so let's not assume that it backs up your viewpoint. It is possible that he pointed to the sky because that's where the majority of everywhere is, from our earthly perspective. Personally, not that it matters what I think, I think that we cannot comprehend the complexity and substance or description of Allah, and therefore neither being here, there, everywhere or anywhere is possible to describe Allah. These are human terms with human perspectives, and to assume that these limited descriptions and comprehensions are suitable to describe Allah is the source of our misunderstanding, and therefore our arguments between each other are inheritly futile, and only reflect our combined arrogance and ignorance (and that goes for anyone who believes humans have sufficient knowledge or language to describe Allah Al Wadud).
I have a question brother, Allah watches everyone all over the world, He is all-hearer and all seeing. He is not every where but He is above the Heaven. So that means Allah watches everyone and is able to hear everyone from above Heavens? It is also said He is closer to us than our jugular veins.
Assalaam mu 'alaikum wa rahhmatullah, brother Wajdi I recently got invited to a subreddit/forum that adheres to the sunnah according to Aqeedah Tahawiyyah. Now I am still learning Aqeedah tul Wasitiyyah and I'm sure that it adheres to ahle sunnah wal jamaah, but what about this other aqeedah? To make it easy, would you consider that Aqeedah to be part of the Saved sect out of 73 or not? If yes I will not hesitate to join this online community but if not I already have plenty of ambiguous and unclear things in my life in the year 2020, I don't need anything else that will potentially corrupt my imaan or my aqeedah. Jazaak allah khairan
@@OneWayToParadise so while being a praised scholar of islam, the author of this aqeedah I'd say 95% captures the essence of the manhaj of the salaf, with that 5% being the critical asma o sifaat of Allah swt which were not properly recognized. As it is I see a lot of overlap with aqeedah tul Wasitiyyah but the shortcomings have created reservations inside me that lead to set this Aqeedah aside for the time being.
On a side note, I went from being essentially non religious throughout my college life until I graduated this past May. What changed me (hopefully permanently IA) is that this past Ramadan I read the quran with understanding for the first time in my life. As an english speaker I did my research first to make sure I could read the best translation that was available and I ended up choosing The Gracious Quran by Dr. Ahmed Zaki Hammad and a few people online were kind enough to post translation comparisons of various verses to other popular English translations. To my knowledge Dr Ahmed was a scholar residing in the US when he authored this translation but now I believe he teaches translation sciences at Al Azhar. By my own account reading his interpretation felt like perhaps receiving the greatest gift I could ever receive. But as I learn more and try to adhere to ahle sunnah wal jama'ah i now must be critical of every aspect of knowledge I possess and have gained. So my question is would you say this translation is sound/sahih? Any problems with the aqeedah or manhaj of the salaf? I haven't found anything that was problematic but I digress. In the epilogue he goes in to a lot of detail of how and why he authored this translation. You can find the pdf online if you search google.
That's a tough task as I am not familiar with him and my time does not allow me to research. I would simply recommend the Saheeh International translation.
