Well this explains why Verizon recently started charging credit card fees if you paid your bill with one.
smh
idkwhyiam wow
Great breakdown 👍 Definitely considering this card. Going to continue using the new temporary wireless credits that Amex is offering thru 12/31, and then will likely scoop up the Verizon card in Jan 2021 ✌️
I need a Charmin toilet paper credit card
Just got mine in i have been a Verizon customer for 8 years so why not , plus the card is gorgeous 😁 All black and metal 👍🏽
Hey credit shifu can you make a video on the best first Amex to get in 2020?? I conflicted between the magnet or the everyday card.
After watching a dozen of the credit shifu videos, I am still not used to you speaking English. Odd and funny. Great show by the way, both channels.
Not only is it a black card, but it is also a metal card.
Yes, I hurt my son when I threw it to him to check out. Also it comes in a really over engineered package.
I just saw your other comment in another video... hi
Brilliant!
Verizon has a debit card that you can use to cash out its reward dollars
Shifu I got some news. I got approved for the Amex Platinum! Took a bit of effort working on my score but I made it and got it! Thanks for the vids. They’re a great help. Btw have you ever done Uk Amex benefits for platinum at all? Me and my dad would like to have a watch.
I have a video comparing 5 different country's Amex Platinum, but it is out of date now ua-cam.com/video/w5pkghk8muU/v-deo.html
The Credit Shifu I think I’ve probably seen it before. But I agree it’s 2 years old. Probably time for a new one.
I've been a Verizon customer since 2017 and had auto-pay on for maybe a year. It saves $5 a month off your bill (I only have one phone line so idk if that multiplies) but when I got the card today, that $10 off per line, was only available for people who were not already enrolled in auto-pay which sorta sucks.
What you mean? If you’re already enrolled with your checking and if you get this card the $10 will not apply or transfer over?
Please do a video on the Upgrade Visa Card
Keep in mind the $10 off per line is only on mix and match unlimited plans not shared data plans or older grandfathered unlimited plans
I had an old grandfathered unlimited plan but then I realize that the new unlimited plan would save me like 60+ a month not sure why other people wouldn't jump all over that.
mNqHOgjJsY because i have 8 lines i pay $120 for the plan and 20 dolars per line so the bill is 280+taxes. For me the old unlimited is where is at!!!!
JP Morais yeah I would end up
Paying more on my 6 line plan. I did a comparison on new mix and match and it would be $38 difference , cheaper to keep older unlimited plan.
@@jpm3066 8 lines?
idkwhyiam yeah used for my family and employees
This new card is a Visa Signature card which come with some travel benefits like: Travel and Emergency Assistance service, Visa Luxury Collection, Rental car privileges and others
We’re three and spend about 100 a week on groceries. Location may affect it but you spend a lot.
genius move by Verizon, does this work on business accounts?
If it can be used to help pay my phone bill then I can see the benefit in it. Also it sounds like it could be used to buy Verizon phones if I'm understanding it correctly. Do the Verizon dollars roll over? I don't use a lot of gas but I do eat a lot of food. So it could be a good deal. I don't understand the line benefit that would have to be made that clear to me what are lines on your bill?
A single phone number is a line to cell phone company/ old folks might remember party lines but each phone number is a "line" is how they say it without giving out each number would be easier for most people to understand to just call it "phone number" but to save on marketing and then so you ask questions at the store it's kind of how they get you in the store.
Thank you, this card is on my list
Same here
Likewise. Quite a good card with no AF. The Verizon team did well with this one 💳✌️
Why haven't you done a Etrade Debt Card Review Yet?
There are some comments about a $1,000 per month grocery bill or others spending x-amount on groceries, and I think it's important to consider that the "groceries" category (at least here in the US) usually encompasses a lot more than just food - where do you buy your toothpaste, laundry detergent, dish soap, garbage bags, light bulbs, Mothers' Day cards, etc? Probably at your local supermarket, which means they would fall into the groceries spending category. This can beef the category a lot and make 4% a lot more powerful
But some of those items, you can get cheaper elsewhere, even if you give up the grocery rewards in the process. The point is that just because you can get it at the grocery store and get 4% does not mean you should buy everything under the sun there.
Forcing you pay your phone bill with it, but no cell phone insurance included like some of the Wells Fargo/Uber card? Seems like a hard sell, I'd rather take the insurance
I have wireless and fios, i get $10 for having both services, per service so ($20). Also, $10 for using auto pay. This card does seem interesting however i have had issues with verizon billing, i feel that is way to many promotions to keep track of and may end up not getting what you signed up for. I prefer to keep things simple and not get it just yet until its been vetted a year or so. Thats my 2 cents.
This car is definitely a metal card and it feels like steel
So spending about $1000 on groceries (family also), and $10 off of each of 4 lines, effectively I'll be saving about $80 a month on my bill now...
Don't forget gas.
Yea, you could be a Verizon Wireless customer.... Or you could use an MVNO of theirs like Visible Wireless and pay $25/mo per line for unlimited, uncapped 4G LTE data. On top of that, if you have the AmEX Platinum card, they cover $20/mo for wireless service until the end of the year. So basically you can get unlimited text, voice, and data on Verizon's network for $5 a month if you're single.
Unfortunately the AmEx Platinum Card $20 month credit is only for contract Service with AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, or Verizon. So no MVNO with this one
@@baddog96dow on the contrare, my man - they gave me a $20 wireless credit this month
what's a MVNO?
What type of credit score is preferable for this card or bank associated with it ?
I’m curious about that too! My friend applied for this and was approved with a 540 score.
I got denied with a 644
Transunion and with synchrony bank :)
Does it apply to Verizon employees?
The $10 per line is only for unlimited plans. Regular shared plans get nada.
I read it it $10 per account shared plan is one account. Then you get $10 per line on the new unlimited plans. That's way I switched.
I was paying $190 for Unlimited shared and 4 lines. Now now I pay $45 unlimited more plan the includes free Apple music and $35 ea for 3 lines unlimited start for a total of $150. That with the $10 ea line with the card.
Sounds decent, only if you're roped into Verizon though. Their plans are just too expensive, I spend $15 per month on my phone plan with Mint. Getting a credit card that earns 4x on groceries just to justify a very expensive phone plan doesn't make much sense to me. Would make more sense to just switch carriers
Mint uses T mobile towers
@@babygates Verizon is the only real option for wireless where i live if you want cell service almost everywhere. I've tried Sprint, AT&T, T-Mobile, and a few Straight Talk phones and none have near as good service range where I am.
Verizon gives you the $10 per line off for using auto pay from your bank account too
will not stack
I’m pretty sure it’s a $5 discount to have it auto paid to your bank account.
From my understanding it's going to be going away, the only way to get the discount will be to use their new credit card.
@@christopherjohn5575 I have the autopay through my bank account. It's $10 per line
@@cjcab3158 thanks for the heads up on that. That sucks. So they're going to force people to get the card in order to keep their bill down if they're already doing it via their bank account
Nice card with lots of gimmicks, not a big fan of Synchrony bank though
If you're spending on Verizon anyway, then yes, getting a discount on your bill is technically just as good as cash back that you can use for whatever you want. It comes out to the same thing. Of course it's better to have options vs being locked into Verizon. I think the problem with this card is that you can get similar cash back rates elsewhere with cards that give you straight up cash with no requirement to use it with that company. Maybe for someone who did not want more than 1 card this card would make sense but if you're willing to have a few you can get comparable rates of cash back with no restrictions on redeeming it.
Where do you see "similar cash back rates" with other cards. I would like to know of one other card that offers 4% on groceries and gas. This is literally double the standard rate.
I knew you would do it because I saw it on fico forums. I HATE IT IS PARTNERED WITH SYNCHRONY BANK
I was considering this card but for one, it's a Synchrony Bank card. I have a few others of their cards and over all, not a fan of Synchrony. 4% on groceries is good, I get 6% using my Amex BCP, 3% Gas stations. I use Chase SP for dining at 2% points. When used with the UR site, it 1 point is redeemed for 1.25 for travel.
I am considering this card, but after hearing so many negative reviews towards synchrony bank, I am unsure if I should follow through. What kind of issues have they given you?
I particularly won't sign up for the BOFA rewards cards just because BOFA makes it so hard to set up full statement auto pay. Is synchrony like this too?
I have one card through Synchrony Bank, and have never had a problem. Can you explain what sort of issues I can expect?
Synchrony isn't all that bad really. Just pay your card off or balance to them and that's it. They also have chat services available etc. Have a care credit with them which I'm going to close but never had an issue. My Newegg card has bee fine with them. I also think the EBay card is under them and that card is alright for my ebay business
@@satyampatel491 BOFA have one of the best online portals. And while setting autopay is not as easy as some other big banks, it is very doable.
You must wait for the first bill, that set up autopay in bill pay. You will probably need to pay that first bill manually though, and auto payments start after the second bill.
Issues I've had with them are: they closed a Mattress Firm csrd on me without my knowledge. I participated in a class action against them with Care Credit and they left negative comments on my CR.
Did you forgot to mentioned the credit limit or you have no idea. However does it depends on your credit score. Just asking?. Awaiting your reply.
Did anyone get approved after getting the 7-10 days wait?

I submitted for the card but said it takes 7-10 days. Is this normal?
Did u get a hard credit inquiry?
@@alexmagana5199 yes
Do you like the card?
I have Verizon rewards every month that cant be used on the phone bill, only new phone purchases or accessories. I think this is the same, not able to be used on regular monthly bill.
He just said you can use it on your bill
@@itsmebryan and I'M saying that I have these credits and cant use it on my bill.
So, if you’re a Verizon customer and you don’t have this card, you are effectively overpaying on your bill $10 a month. It could in theory replace the Amex Gold as well... I have to think about this one.
not really. the $10 in question is the same $10 offer by turning on auto pay as far as i understand, unless there is a fee they are charging for using any credit card that isn't theirs
Hi Credit Shifu,
Just want to remind you that Verizon says this $10 off per line is only for unlimited plans, and ONLY for people who were not enrolled in autopay previously. Here is what they says:
Please note: Offer is for first-time enrollees. Verizon customers currently enrolled in Auto Pay and paper-free billing via other methods (e.g., ACH or debit card) will not receive additional Auto Pay discounts for re-enrolling using the card. See the Verizon Visa Credit Card Rewards Program Terms & Conditions for details on ways to lower your bill.
So, I guess that means it will be really hard to get the $10 for the most of us.
My bill is 540 for 6 lines all iPhones xr and up
It seems good but I would be great if they had phone insurance
Exactly my point phone insurance and maybe 5% Verizon purchases, I would pay 49 annual fee for that
One video I haven't been able to find on your channel is on the best credit card to use while traveling. Many many many cards are good to use for the purpose of buying tickets or using Vip rooms, but I haven't found one to use internationally. You should make a video on that.
No this card doesn't give you off $10 of per line... Auto pay does... But I already have auto pay on my capital one
How can I apply for a card if I'm currently unemployed but have enough to pay for the card monthly?
How long ago? Just lie on the application you are currently employed. It's not a crime.
Since march and I'll give it a shot lol thanks
Did it work? Did you get approved lol
Anyone know what the APR range is on this?
Sounds good, I'm interested
Edit: Well... If my understanding of the fine print is right, per the website, the $10 off/line per month is for NEW enrollees. If you're already in autopay, you're out of luck. Not interested if this is the case.
That is not the case...I do quality assurance and customer service for Verizon
remove auto pay then do auto pay again you are new lol
@@michaelshay172 so then you are just replacing one discount for another. That nets to no additional discount.

The $10 /line off only applies to certain
Sorry. Applies to certain unlimited plans. The one we have only gets $5/line off, which is the same discount we get for having the bill automatically taken out of our dedicated checking account
The Verizon card is amazing!
Is this card accepted at Costco?
Yes any visa is accepted there
$30 dollars off bill if you have three lines then $1000 grocery spend = $70 off your bill but what about phone protection theres none. Credit is a joke 4.00 a month.
I'd still prefer the Costco card
Only wireless customer? I got FIOS guess I’m not consider a customer 🤷🏻♂️
At 2:28 in the video, it says FIOS as well on the first bullet point.
Yeah it seems whatever kind of account you have with Verizon, you should be eligible
I just got my Verizon visa.....its metal
How long did it take for you to get an approval?
Nice Costco... I mean, Verizon Card.
Edit: actually pretty good. Could significantly reduce your bill. I’ll consider it if they have an inexpensive unlimited plan.
I don’t think Verizon has any inexpensive plans....
Verizon is expensive if you're solo, compared to other services. If you're splitting the service costs as my family does, it becomes quite cheap
Cross Entertainment
I mean, you could split any service though.
I pay under 60 buck's for my plan unlimited everything. Butnto.be fair I am military 15 off, have fios another 20 and they take out another 10 for direct deposit
Makes a whole lot of sense for me. I think this will replace my Amazon card as my daily driver.
Anybody get approved after the 7-10 day waiting period ?
I’m waiting too, but I don’t know if I will be approved

I do not recommend this card if you are looking to have this as a joint card with your spouse. You need to get power attorney form to let your spouse to call in if any issues with the card.
u just going around on every verizon cc video saying this?
This card requires u to have Verizon service
hi
The funny part is company literally made money by having customers give service to other customers. Their service has honestly sucked but then most of Verizon's client tell has been forced to purchase a micro cell tower. They then leave those Micro cell towers that's now in a lot of customers house in Open mode (Open mode= any & all can access).
So it looks like to all customers that they're getting service from a cell tower when they're not that's how Verizon actually made their big so-called name claiming they're the best. Honestly they're not worth the piece of paper their name's written on. They would be the biggest legal scammer or that has not been caught. I know some people may not care about the truth but honestly Verizon's made you pay for the microcell tower and then give service to other people That's not a marketing trick that's a scam.
In return their cell service for speed quality is usually 10/5 MBps. Personally honestly AT&T has better service. Since the iPhone 6s came out they've implemented Wi-Fi calling where Verizon can't seem to get the concept handled and still has to do the Micro cell towers.
In return AT&T service for a service speed is 115/10MBps.
So now Verizon can get into the credit card business one of honestly building a business on a lie talk about a shitty company.
I honestly don't work for any cell phone company currently but I would not be proud to work for Verizon when they all around suck and lie to their customers plus I've heard about too many people getting overcharged month in month out or being added additional costs. Now they're also getting additional money from spectrum. Well spectrum commercials might say they're competing with Verizon they're using Verizon for the cell service talk about a marketing trick lie.
Chase Sapphire Reserve blows this out of the water
Not really a fair comparison, you would have to compare this to a card with no annual fee
canadian credits cards look like a joke.
