Ultimate Cantilever Sewing Box out of Reclaimed Pallet Wood

A large, cantilever sewing box made out of scrap pallet wood.
I wanted to build my wife a sewing box, but with a lot of extra storage. It's all made from recycled pallet wood.
It would also make a great box for modelmaking and art supplies.
Now I need to make another one to put all my own stuff in.

There are sewing boxes and then there are sewing boxes. This is a sewing box if I've ever seen one! Wow. Seriously ultimate in terms of cantilever-ing storage. Great work. Loving the gleam that the Briwax gives to everything - you can really see it in the fold out montages, the light glints nicely off of all the wood. And really enjoyed the use of the two tones for the handles/cantilevers against the dark-stained body. Lovely project once again!

You have made an epic version of one of the storage items on my "bucket" list. A large sewing bow that can hold all the attachments for my collection of sewing machines, the oldest an 1888 Singer treadle, the newest a 25 year old overlock. That way I would never have to hunt through various drawers and containers. It is just perfect. The other would be a fitted and partitioned storage box for my collection of wood turning tools so they would not become dulled hitting each other. Bravo!!! I always enjoy what you make but this is special, even more than the bookcase.

Your wife is an extremely lucky woman. Throughout the build, as a fellow seamstress/ knitter/ye olde style crafter, I was mentally trying to work out what you were doing next, and then, once I thought I'd figured that out, planning what I would put in each box/drawer/ compartment. I think I mentally managed to place most of my embroidery supplies within (alright, well, I did say "most": maybe at least "some" would be more accurate).
I'm now trying to work out if I could make something like this, digging out all of those woodworking skills from high school, or if not, who i could convince to make it for me... 🤔🤔🤔
