I freed some space in my case for a stereo filter to run Cloud Terrarium through. Hard to decide between the Dual Dagger and XAOC Zagrzeb. One big thing in favour of the Shakmat is that it leaves 2hp spare for a dual LPG (Takaab 2LPG). If you end up having 2HP spare, you could do a lot worse, the Takaab is great module, and so cheap and small.
I'd ask yourself how important variable-width bandpass is. If you're looking for LP, go with Zagrzeb, but if you want flexibility, by all means, DD is the way.
@@Lightbath Thanks for the tip. It reminds me to join your Patreon. I think I'll go with Zagrzeb. It's mainly LP to sculpt the high-end of a cloud terrarium wavetable osc. I like the XAOCs controls. I can DiY a little external case for passive modules like the Takaab LPG, and passive Mults.
Oh, thanks. Yeah, hit up Club Lightbath and get on our Discord for a nice platform to work out these kind of ideas. Zagrzeb’s Spread control does some nice things to the stereo field. I think you’ll like it. It’s very much like Ripples, that filter, just not quite as sweet and focused in the resonance, but it’s stereo, which wins in a lot of cases.
@@Lightbath will do. That stereo spread feature was my favourite thing about the Moog Voyager. And I love Ripples, I could even just get a second Ripples. Because I like it for very pure bass drums too
Stereo amazing will defo have a look at one if not more. Thank you for bringing them to my attention. (strange to relate but today I finally, after all this time ,managed to listen to your and Emiliy's Commend Here tape. I didn't have a tape player until now)
Oh awesome! Thanks for putting your time and attention to that tape! What a magical afternoon that was. Grateful to mle and commend and rvng for making that happen. And yeah, this filter is 👌😘✨
Check the ‘all gear used in this video’ link in the description or the Patreon patch notes for all the details. Love that thing. I have two of the TXn version.
Nice work! Do you find the dual daggers lose a lot of volume as you increase resonance? I have two and I love them, but that's always bugged me. Wondering if it's just me!
Oh, I hadn’t noticed because I usually only use lots of resonance when I want to get all whistle-ly and make bird sounds, and in that case maybe it’s nice to not be super loud when self oscillating. But yeah, I tend to use low resonance values when making most music. I should look into that and see.
Volume going down when resonance going up is physically normal, as there is the same energy level in the system. Maybe look for filters with resonance / Q / loudness compensation.
@@Lightbath You and Jonathan (What We Talk About) have had me GASing on and off for Dual Daggers for like a year. Have yet to pull the trigger but I think I will eventually!
"subtle movement through space and time" - I'll take that for ochd! Lovely to see it providing you with plenty of smooth LFO action still :)
🌟
I loved the editing in this video. It flows very well between the scenes!
🙏
people getting wise about shakmat
great stuff
This was my first Shakmat module. I’m now curious about that Quad Euclidean LFO as I love using euclidean triggers.
I can’t believe it. Such an organic vibe and so many layers and textures
Beautiful sounds and performance! You have come a long way since your first modular videos. Very inspirational ❤️
Did not realize those 6hp filters were stereo. What an elegant solution!
Seriously. Love these puppies.
love shakmat. I plan to build a 3rd dual dagger next superbooth. like the previous two times 😇guess I need 4 as well for the sinfonion's chord output
Awesome. Love the shakmat filter! It’s lit. ❤
I love the Dual Dagger! I wanted the WMD Overseer but I only had 6hp space. Also works great as DJ style filter
Ah, yeah just separate knobs for the HP/LP.
the tiny bit of open space between the two modules on the bottom row would drive me mad 😂
Ha. Yeah, it’s funny when panels aren’t quite the right size. This is why I love sliding nuts in a case: ua-cam.com/video/d5SZJDBicf8/v-deo.html
excellent stuff !

Been diggin this filter for awhile!

Loved the Sun Ra cameo ❤
I’ve got to make sure that Sun Ra shows up in at least one of my videos per year 🪐
@@LightbathSpace is the place 😊
wooooww.. please put the whole set on yt..
Ha thanks. Well, the excerpt is public: KEX PDX (ft. Justin Peake)
ua-cam.com/video/xzpJWDv9nAs/v-deo.html and the full set is for Patreon only 🤷🏻♂️
I’m considering getting a second one, but I don’t want to replace Three Sisters, haha.
There’s surely merit in configuring a case with different flavors.
Incredible!!
What is a “nearness module?” Re: Teletype
Check the ‘all gear used in this video’ link in the description or the Patreon patch notes for all the details. Love that thing. I have two of the TXn version.
Hey yo, love your work, both musical and techy shiz. Will this performance be going on your bandcamp at all?
Oh, thanks. Not making a release out of it, but it’s up for download on Patreon for Octahedra and above 💫
Why do you use an electric screwdriver if you have knurlies? Its so much easier and you can use both hands
well, my fingers don’t do well in the small pinchies zones 🤏
These look good. I use the small addac one.....I've crammed 5 into my performance case 😅
Wow! I love seeing dedication to a single module. Though, variable-width bandpass is my non-negotiable for a filter, so DD is the way for me.
shakmazing! I guess I need a couple
I recommend at least two!
Very nice.

@@Lightbath lol fair point, I tend keep my resonance just on the verge of self oscillating 😁

I have been on the hunt for a DD for a while, but they have been impossible to find (US). Any tips?
Oh, I don’t know. I’m so far behind on publishing videos that this one was shot almost a year ago, so I’ve had mine for a while.
@@Lightbath right on. Thanks for the response. Beautiful stuff, per usual. Loved the performance.
Thanks. Hopefully the general module/chip shortage starts to ease up soon.
Awesome instructive video and great music! Portland is loooong way from Chichester - but here I come! 🥲
Im noticing a lot of granular in this case
My thing lately has been to put a clouds on nearly every voice and especially after Morphagene. Love the combo!
Dangit now these are gonna be even harder to find lol
Yeah, promoting a module during a shortage is double edged sword, er dagger (two of them)
@@Lightbath You and Jonathan (What We Talk About) have had me GASing on and off for Dual Daggers for like a year. Have yet to pull the trigger but I think I will eventually!
Jonathan was my gateway drug into DD, too
Nice :)
Ripples is very useable with less vol down when adding resonance but also less vintage
I love pairing Ripples with Plaits in the first model into a delay. That’s my longtime favorite use of Ripples.
Coucou
those subtitles/captions were added (my OpenAI and edited by me) for you!
