Thank you so much for this episode. Martin Brundle is a living legend and the best part of watching F1 races. I hope he is not in a hurry to quit. Merry Christmas and love from Egypt.
Chris, I have to hand it to you… your a car nerd (in the most endearing way), you’re a wizard with words (both spoken and written), a pretty nifty driver who makes me want to drive ( not that that is an accolade worth anything, but I thank you for that) and you know how to put the people you interview on the center stage (instead of yourself) . Martin says something in the interview, where he seems to do himself injustice about the supercar video (and it is an injustice!) but what he wonders is, how he could compete with ‘you guys’… that is a big compliment from the best F1 commentator to the best automotive journalist/blogger/UA-camr of the new millennium. It may not mean much, but I take my hat of to the both of you! Wonderful interview, and great job!
Please don’t stop Martin I was their for that very 1st grid walk & hav loved you so much it’s rubbed off on my nephew...Keep it up it wouldn’t be F1 without you!!!
Martins still too modest re his single seater ability. I watched him closely in F3 against Senna, and once he found his confidence, he was as quick but more consistent. In Tyrell F1, he was a match for Bellof who has to be one of the fastest (albeit wildest) men ever behind the wheel, and again at Benetton he was able to raise his game to match Schumacher. Maybe without the ace in direct competition with him, he did drift a little as he says, but often he was in the right car at the wrong time (too late with Tyrell, Brabham and McLaren, too early with Ligier & Benetton).
What a brilliant interview. 2 of my favorite people in automotive. Chris, the person why I subscripted Evo in the past and Martin the only way to watch F1 these days. And that is from out of Germany. Thank you.
What a great interview Chris. Martin is such a gentleman. I'm from Canada and have done a fair bit of racing at Mosport which is not for the faint of heart. I saw Brundle race the Jag there and as he said in the interview " In a sports car nobody could touch me". I would have to agree with that statement because he was in a league of his own. If not for the ankle injury I think he would have been world champion as well. Thanks again
Another great chat, listening to one of my heroes and what he's been through to get to where he is today was fascinating. Many thanks to you and the team for putting these together.
What a fantastic podcast. I’ve watched most of Brundle’s commentary and love the guy. Harris is so articulate and asked some great questions. I just wish it was longer.
Fantastic podcast . What a humble man and what a fantastic career. Great format with chris just allowing the guests to recount Stories and memories . Brilliant stuff thanks
What a legend!! I could listen to brundle all day long.I think he is the greatest f1 driver to never win a race and also a worthy replacment for murray walker.
Martin is a legend and really a gentleman in the true sense of the worth. I hope I can meet him someday, at goodwood maybe, where I've never been to so far.
Hi Chris Merry Christmas. What a wonderful man Martin is. My wife loves him and we both love him on the F1 telecast. I agree with you he has taken over that spot from Murray but without the funny errors 😄. I must admit I learned so much about his career that I had no idea he had done. Love these pod casts so well done. Perhaps you should get Martin and come and do a Bathurst race with him. Especially while the cars are still quite analog out here. It would make a great story for Top Gear or your own broadcast. Jp
What a great interview. The best F1 commentator by a mile. What he says about Lewis so correct too, listening to this a year later, Lewis is the GOAT and despite all the challenges he’s faced he’s overcome so much to be where he is
Another terrific chat with another terrific bloke. I couldn't get enough of him and Murray Walker commentating F1 (Martin even took MW for a spin in a 2-seat McLaren Merc round Silverstone), and I know Brundle was talking Chris through it when he took that Jaguar R5 out in the freezing at Silverstone. I didn't know Brundle was into bikes (I obviously need to do some catching up) but I second his nomination of the BMW K1600GT - I've never ridden one but I well remember a year or two back when me and my mates were "cruising" the roads in the Snowy Mtns (NSW, Oz) at ~ 140-160km/h and a pair of headlights caught up and passed us at a very decent clip, luggage and all - turned out to be a K16GT. BTW 37:00 and 56:17 where he mentions Brundle Jr (Alex), I came across a vid of both of them piloting a GT4 Vantage around the Nordschleife for Martin's 60th birthday - the old man done well. Well worth a shufty: ua-cam.com/video/dlN7QNnYr_4/v-deo.html
Fantastic podcast! Martin is a legend; incredibly quick and a top class commentator. I really enjoyed listening to this, as I edited a UA-cam video! -The Editor @ BCK
Such a shame there isn't a fly on the wall camera. None the less, great podcast and I really miss Martin Brundle having given up on F1 earlier this year, after three decades.
I took the photographs of Martin signing his Tyrell F 1 contract Ken’s pen had dried up and Andrew Marriott pulled out his team Lotus pen and that what was used..
Would be nice to have video yeah, but that inevitably leads to higher production cost and personally I'd rather have more audio-only podcasts than fewer accompanied by video.
@@bmxaf I've been following Matt since back in Garage419 days, but they've had their fair share of mess-ups with the live stream. On a personal note, anything I try to do and film takes at least twice as long, not to mention the editing, rendering... I mean, sure, if Collecting Cars has money to burn, bring it. This isn't a hobby project, I assume, people gotta be paid.
Exactly why we do not understand how Crofty managed to keep his job with Martin as he's full of BS as Martin said... Martin is a legend and meeting him (Twice actually) was a real pleasure. He is so poised and oozes experience and knowledge. Please Martin, stay available for F1 fans and we'll make sure your legend status lives on.
Martin is just pure class. The day that man is dragged away kicking and screaming from F1, is the day I’ve watched my last race. Long reign the best commentator ever 👍👍
"We've roomed together quite a lot, actually." "Terrifying thought." LOL. Brilliant podcast. Chris and Martin are such automotive legends to me. Enjoyed every minute.
McGaddster : I think your frontal lobe is missing one part of a double helix. If you need a visual as to what that means, google a visual of what a frontal lobe is responsible for👍 Hint: logic, reasoning, and critical thinking. Keyword: critical.
Martin has a very easy voice to listen and enjoy. He explains complicated things, in a simple way. Martin, has great knowledge of road supercars. F1 without Martin, would be like formula one without pitstops - a great loss.
If my dad saw me getting chased by somebody with a crow bar after they wrecked my car at some race, i probably wouldnt have seen my dad for a couple years after that because he most likely would be in jail after getting his hands on the bloke, but im surprised the story didnt escalate at all besides them just leaving for another racing league.
I'm an adult and listened to this whilst doing an endurance race on Gran Turismo. 😁
Great stuff thanks.
The original PlayStation one from flippin’ 97? Damn I miss that game!
I'm doing the same right now with f1 2021 😅
@@willb3486 Doing the same right now! Just finished the podcast!
Please, do an episode with Henry Catchpole.
Pleaseeee! Henry!
Perfect Christmas present.
These podcasts are awesome.
People will properly catch on soon.
Thank you so much for this episode. Martin Brundle is a living legend and the best part of watching F1 races. I hope he is not in a hurry to quit. Merry Christmas and love from Egypt.
Yes! Great interview. It plays out like a book almost. I'll come back and listen to this one again, I'm sure

Great podcast guys.
Loved it 👌
Fantastic interview. As a fan of F1 in the 80s and 90s this was truly a trip down memory lane. Priceless anecdotes from Martin. Thank you.
Chris and Martin, thanks for the wonderful conversation. Great to learn more about Martin's career beginnings.
Just new to this podcast. Brilliant Chris. Thx. I’m an old timer F1 geek and that was great with Martin. Thanks again.
Martin saying "he really hit the rev limiter on that" when describing how Stirling Moss got angry at the mis-spelling of his name. LMAO at that. Epic.

There was a large possibility that if Brundle hadn't of had his crash, and the right car, he could of very well of been the world champion
What a brilliant interview. 2 of my favorite people in automotive. Chris, the person why I subscripted Evo in the past and Martin the only way to watch F1 these days. And that is from out of Germany. Thank you.
Best car content on UA-cam Imo. Great to listen to. Please keep it up and don't fiddle with the format.
Chris, Martin and Harry on an off road bike adventure would make fascinating content ! Brilliant podcast 👍
Absolutely loved this, Brundle is a legend. Thank you so much for this it made my day
PEOPLE SHOULD KNOW THIS PODCAST ITS SO UNDERRATED THESE GUYS NEED MORE SUBS
I THINK IF WE CAN SEE THEM WHILE TALKING IT WOULD BE BETTER
Agreed!

When I started learning about F1 in the early 80s via British mags, I remember the pieces on Martin. Great interview!
What a treat, Martin Brundel has some great stories hope he’s around commentating for many more years.
Brilliant! Made my day and I have only just pressed play.
Fantastic, I'm late to the party, but glad I came.
What a brilliant podcast and guest. 2 national treasures.
wonderful interview! Martin is a LEGEND! Chris is the apprentice, but A LEGEND! he will be very shortly!
Great podcast.
Martin reminds me of Nico Hulkenberg - hugely talented and respected driver, perhaps left a bit on the table in their F1 career...

Pretty cheap these days as long as its not 4k or something, Matt Farah does it pretty cheap for The Smoking Tyre..

Yeah, thx Chris and Martin - I just googled the Martin Donnelly crash: I'm off to the bog to vom .... (glad he's OK)
Could listen to Martin read the phone book, legend.

Brilliant guy!

Brundle you are a great guy
Stick an iPhone and film the bloody thing so we can at least see the chat😊
/// yeah like the resent smoking tire with him / chris was good.

This was extremely good but only Verstappen and Leclerc are "Sennas" . Hmmm
Brundle at Bathurst, that will be interesting, watch out for the kangaroos.....
Can you interview yourself at all Chris ??? Seriously..

But how he can say F1 is as good now... They look and sound horrific now
A great guy but in 158 GP starts, no fastest lap, no pole positions and no wins.
