This is a second installment in DADGAD jazz chords. Just playing through a typical ii-V-I-vi progression in D. The tuning makes for some surprising harmonic twists.
Here's a pdf of all of the chords in the video - www.dropbox.com/s/hdvhbm8coek...

Quite rare to her jazzy voicings in DAGAD. Im used to hearing it in folk music alot so appreciate showing a different application. BTW I found your channel after googling ETA, always loved that neo gospel guitar on that record. Anyways subscribed.

Hi, just discovered your DADGAD chord videos, very nice! I'm curious what your take is on DADGAD in the Preston Reed style (play with the fretting hand on the other side of the neck, with your finger tips pointing down towards your feet instead of your head).
Opens up some interesting movable chord shapes without too much crazy fretting complexity.
    D5 - 000200
Em - 222000 (play with index finger, from the top down)
    F#m - 444200 (index finger plays 444, ring or pinky plays 2)
    G - 555400 (index finger plays 555, middle finger plays 4)
    A - 777600 (same as G chord)
    Bm - 999700 (same as F#m)
    C - 101010900 (same as G chord)
    D - 1212121100 (same as G chord)
For variations, try using the open G note on the above shapes, and using sus4 and sus2 variations, e.g.
    Bm - 999700
Bsus4 - 999900 (index on 9999, keep ring or pinky on 7, move index to bar the G string, minimizes movement)
Bsus2 - 999600 (index on 999, pinky on 6, you can hammer-on or pulloff between 999600 and 999700 with ring and pinky)
    Bflat6 - 999000 (index on 999, use the open G)
These variations can be applied elsewhere to these shapes
I also like the following chords sequences in the
    090900, 090600, 090000, 555400 (for the G, you can do a pickup 444 up strum before hitting the 555400)
    00014014, 00014011, 0001200, 555400
Also, you can play the chordal melodies in the key of D using the G string with just one finger.
    000000, 000200, 000400, 000600, 000700, 000900, 0001100, 0001200, 0001400
Works great creating interesting arrangements of songs in the key of D in DADGAD, once you get used to it.
Just some ideas for you to tinker with.
    God bless!

How bout some 1 4 5 progressions? These are absolutely fantastic, very melodic. These have helped my composition immensely. Even some kind of lesson how you come up with these fingering using known chord formulas, again thanks so much. Yours just seem to flow into melodic phrasing
