Ningguang was accidentally one unit I got when I starting wishing for childe in his first banner back in 1.1. I tried her kit and was initially put off. Then I tried her as a burst dps and now she is my first triple crowned 4 star unit. Her skill and burst scalings are insane!
@@GentleSavage94 It is because geo characters are balanced with the idea that geo has no damage reactions. So they need higher mags in order to keep up with other 4 stars.
Idk about you but my nigguang have 230 crit damage and can't do a lot coz his base attack is very low . I'm very annoyed by this coz mine is 90 and don't do a lot
A quick tip if you have Constellation 6 Ningguang: Always make sure you use your charged attack after using Elemental Burst before swapping to other character because for some reason her 10 star jades will be gone once you swap back to Ningguang
Tip: (If you have C2) you can place Jade screen 3 times really fast by placing the first one directly on a construct which resets the cooldown once, after using it a second time wait for the cooldown to reach 6 seconds before using Starshatter and your C2 will proc again giving you a total of 3 Jade Screens in just 8 seconds
@@Daria-Morgendorffer that would depend on if this a single target or aoe scenario. A level 10 jade screen (crowned even without crown) is the biggest spike of aoe damage she gets. Her star jades are sometimes inconsistent and you will be missing damage for it if it breaks on any surface. I think the energy she gets back from what the comment said is pretty useful though. If not for herself she can funnel some to the other geo characters.
@@Daria-Morgendorffer Unfortunately, Ningguang’s C2 has a 6 second CD, so if you use your burst right away, it won’t proc and you’ll end up with the full 12 second CD.

ningguang has been so useful now that her auto targetting has been optimised, i managed to get 80% cr to 180% cd on her with solar pearl and its amazing. She's my most well-built character. can check out my abyss runs to see her dmg :3
In regards to her team composition i do believe that she might work well with Itto in case you don't have a Mona , she could also buff geo damage when passing through her construct + thrilling tales before switching to Itto
Not to mention as a Geo battery… using her with albedo and zhongli I always have all their bursts all cd all the time. Itto with an energy cost of 80 could definitely use the extra Geo particles
I think both can be viable at your preferred amount of investment into Ningguang, but not the most ideal as she is mostly made to be a DPS/burst supp and not as much a buffer. So it's up to you to weigh the opportunity cost of losing out on burst dmg vs gaining the thrilling tales buff. Certainly if you just want a low investment buffer, then it works, but I'm betting that if you invest in her, that the burst support role will end up in more DPS for your entire team.
@@KetteiThe7th_ I run her now with Itto she’s actually a good battery cause her jade screen generates 4 geo particles and honestly if you give Itto at least like 140 ER he gets his thing back quick I usually go Itto E then switch to her and E switch back to give Itto the particles and switch back to her lol but it definitely works and probably better with Sac Frag
Yeah, I have both her and Zhongli on my current Itto team, she is a great battery and also can deal her own damage when Itto is off his Burst. It's like having two Aces.

Exactly! But i dont have a C6 noelle so i use hutao xinqiu, and when hutao E on cd, ningguang to autoatk. Noelle is the perfect glue here as she gives me a shield, a balanced heal (as hutao can be overhealed) and geo resonance.

She was my first 4* gacha char and the second dps in the game after xiangling. I got her c6, still love and use her. Also, Ninguang is super useful to farm the wolf boss (actually, all wolf bosses including andrius))
She was the character I wanted the most, but the second-to-last 4* I didn't have until the keqing banner like 10 months ago. Got her to c6 on that banner, though. My first was beidou, who I liked at first, then didn't like, then began liking again, but barely ever use because only being able to counter every 7 seconds feels clunky and she doesn't fit any of my teams. But now Yun Jin is going to solve that problem by effectively being a second counter charge.
Neat thing you can do with Ninguang that Zy0x Didn't Mention: In a Geo Team where you have someone else as your Main Attacker (Like Itto or something) You can actually Turn her into your Healer. (For what little is needed in a Geo Team with their shields) All you have to do is Give her the Prototype Amber Catalyst that you Craft, And Change nothing else about her Build... That thing will 100% Guarantee that her Energy will be Filled On cooldown (Which is the Shortest it can be for any character at 12s), And Make it so that you heal your Entire Team by 12-18% of their Max HP every time you Burst (Which again, is every 12s). If you add in her Passive that Boosts Geo Damage when you walk through her Veil, and her C4 which increases Elemental resistances to anyone Near her Veil by 10% (May not seem like much but add that on top of various Geo shields and it adds up to making a much tankier team), She can actually end up giving you a Bunch of Different Benefits from Off Field. Also she can Keep the Noblesse Buff up permanently on her own like this if you swap to her on time. Just be careful not to Try and place her Veil while you're too close to a LARGE enemy, some enemies prevent you from placing Geo Constructs on their location, and hers is pretty Big, and she Looses out on a lot if that thing isn't properly placed, like Half of the Burst Attacks, And the Geo Damage Buff and that Elemental res Buff... Oh also, this is Minor and everybody probably know it, but I have to mention it because it wasn't mentioned in the video: Her Non-Combat Passive is REALLLY useful when looking for Weapon upgrade Materials! Marks out the nearest Rocks that can be Mined on the Minimap, if you haven't used her for that, you have no Idea how Much Raw Material you can find thanks to this!

I did this when i first got her, before i knew the solar pearl existed, she like never left the field, but that was also world level 3 or so, but it was fun
I love when a character works well as main-dps and quickswap, especially if it's worth using some normals/charged in quickswaps like Ning and Ayaka. This feels especially good cause it lowers the opportunity cost of waiting for energy particles, you can just do some good normals/charged attacks in that time. I hope we see less pure field-time eaters and more flexible characters that work well when swapping a lot, Sucrose is another cool example of a character that can work super well on/off the field or kinda in between.
The moment I got Ningguang during November 2020, I just fully fell in love with her. I remember screaming when I accidentally pressed E and she one-shotted a whole hilichurl camp and said "It's official. I love you Ningguang. Okay, I'm maining you." She's my second favorite character in the game (Venti being first) because of both her characterization and gameplay. I have never abandoned her and have been using her for most of the things until now (Alongside Xiao) and I can confidently say that she's a fun character to use when my mouse isn't broken and she's absolutely nuts for a 4 star character. My stats on her right now isn't the best but wow, she's an actual monster as a dps. I hope this video provides some new things for me because I really want to use her full potential, especially now that I'm using her more than Xiao. Ningguang Nation, even though I know we're smol, rise up! Also, I recently got her C6 (Finally, after being denied of getting it since Keqing's banner) and its so much fun seeing her with so many jades that almost always misses the Golden Wolf Lord for some reason >:( It's very fulfilling and really nice though since full constellations just made her damage way too big for overworld -
So I started playing Genshin when Raiden Shogun’s banner came out, and I had to push through the main story to finally get access to her mats. Since Shogun was my main DPS I was screwed trying to fight the Electro Oceanid, until a buddy suggested investing into Ningguang to beat it. After getting her to a decent level she wiped the floor with that Thunder Chicken, and I always keep her in my back pocket after all this time. So I’m happy to see a new guide for her after all this time!
@@jebishpokhrel302 My main Raiden team is Shogun, Xingqiu, Kokomi, and Kujo Sara. It's not the best but it's who I always seem to come back to. For fighting Thunder Manifestation I bring Ningguang, Xingqiu, Kokomi, and Noelle. It's kind of stacked with healing, but it's what I had at the time.
Ar58 still Ningguang is my one of main dps that i use for most of the content. Especially spiral abyss 😍. Build: C6 Ningguang, R1 Skyward Atlas, 2petra & 2glad, 9/12/12 talentlvl, 2224 atk with 60/151 ratio and 124 ER.
I love Ningguang so much , back in 1.3 during the lantern rite event I choose her as my free 4* and since then I've been maining her and improving her build , she's a real beast I have her at c4 with her 5* BiS
You've earned my sub, your guides are great! Unfortunately, Ningguang falls into the category that seems to plague most games: if it isn't the highest rarity tier, it's no good. Genshin has proven time and time again that all characters are viable regardless of rarity, though granted that it took a few patches for Ning to really take off. Patch 2.3 really shifted the meta IMO. Now, purely dedicated healers (Barbara, Qiqi, Kokomi) can contribute to heavy sub-DPS while not giving up their established roll, Geo characters hit like trucks on 'roids, and suddenly we have so many more build options for established characters. Can't wait to see what 2.4 and beyond will bring. Could you do an Amber video? I've found that a pure ATK/CRIT build on her yields surprising results and while her kit is wonky, she is definitely worthy of some more TLC. Cheers!

I'm personally loving using Ningguang with on Itto Team alongside Gorou for his bonus. Gorou is able to buff her damage a little more and while Itto is on his downtime with his burst I usually swap into ning and get a quick rotation with her burst and charged attacks and it's enough to start my itto/gorou cycle again.

i just decided to try maining Ningguang because of her new outfit and i wanted to try using more geo characters. this guide is so helpful and you explained everything clearly and efficiently! ty
I just want to add that with Ningguang you want to avoid having many geo constructs. Her stones will shatter when they collide with either stone constructs or the end of the map in abyss or domains and her dps just crumbles.
One thing you should try if you can is use Ei and Ningguang in the same team makes her so much fun to use with her attacks making crystals and electro dmg so you can never run out of shield as long as ei has her skill up lol
I have always been and still is a ningguang main dps person and two things to point out specially for those who want to build her up are as follows: 1. Practice her charge attack. Get used to it. It can feel clunky at first so you need practice to reliably use it always 2. It can be annoying how her jade screen will "shatter" and not remain when using it and it hits an enemy on formation. Given how important jade screen is (15% geo buff on passing, interaction with burst) there are actually times when it is better to place the screen say behind you or on the side instead of letting it straight up hit a boss and shatter immediately. Have fun and enjoy your time with the geo queen! 🙂
Jade screen Geo bonus is 12%... you should be assamed to call yourself a Ningguang main. I have her for 3 weeks and know that. Geo resonance gives 15% Geo dmg bonus..
She was my main when she first came out but i haven't played her for a long time and need to get used to the attacking again. Better start practicing so i can play when i get her skin

Great video glad she's getting some love here. This is pretty much what I'm doing in the abyss. There is an optimal rotation for her though even in quick swap. Need to put down her Jade shield and swap out and make sure you run both your Geo supports through her shield before you do their abilities. The damn it output differencr is quite astounding

Since my Gorou is only C2, I'm probably gonna raise my Ningguang and give her Prototype Amber for some heals in mono Geo comp lol. It's about time to build her since she's been C6 for quite a while now
Some time after Zhongli was released and promoted (before his overhaul), I really liked his kit, but lets face it, I was a simp for such style. After I fully built my Zhongli, Albedo was my next target, and then Noelle was perfected after that. At this point, I craved a fully perfected Geo team. I ended up never getting a single Ningguang until Xiao's event where I was able to obtain her for free. Free Ningguang was my first, but I never had any doubt in the Geo Supremacy, even back when Zhongli was subpar trash (according to everyone else). Ningguang continues to carry through quite a bit of Spiral Abyss. Pretty underrated DPS, especially considering that Geo is a great all-rounder element where you don't need to worry too much about enemy resistances, vulnerabilities, reactions, etc. Where people devote everything to Swirl, Overloaded, and Melt, my strategy was always "I cast Rock", and it has rarely failed me. Super delighted that they're bringing in more Geo characters, thrilled that Ningguang is receiving attention under the spotlight.
One of the best things about Ningguang especially with constellations is that she's an incredible battery for Noelle. And not only that, she is the ranged single target antithesis to Noelle's melee AOE. But deliberately blowing up her Jade curtain generates so much particles it's crazy.

overall really good guide, one thing I have to disagree is the weapon recommendation, personally I do think memory of dust is the best out of the three (the complete opposite lol) if you have zhongli or even noelle, and I think in comparison dust just has a higher damage potential out of the three even though it would require better luck for artifact farming

I didn’t understand how to play Genshin a month ago and your videos helped me understand the game and characters 100% better. Even though Ning's supposed to be really good this Abyss cycle, the gameplay you showed for 12-2-2 is why I found her to be not so great to use on the contrary, at least on the 2nd half: if you place your E directly or near the center of the Kenkis, your jade screen gets destroyed immediately and you don't get to pass through them for the buff or more importantly boost your burst with them. It feels so bad using your burst at half power with the lack of the screen. If you aim your E away from the Kenkis so that you can safely place the screen, it's a DPS loss since Ning's E does a lot of damage. I wish they'd change or greatly reduce the collision box of the jade screens or just allow them to clip enemies completely.
She's my new carry in my friendship farming team and boy... she really has a learning curve. Thanks for the info on the animation cancelling, that'll help a lot. Sayu is most likely slotting into the team tomorrow so at worst, I can go back to my carry crutch (I love maining 2-handers).

apparently she was meant to be a 5*, but back then there were few 4* available (or too many 5*, I forgot which one) so devs decided to made her into 4* for easier access.

Ninguang main here. 15:30 during the whole video you're forgetting the fact, that after passing through her screen characters get 15% geo damage bonus, which makes her a great option for mono geo team. Also, I would like to point out that geo travaler isn't probably the best option since his elemental skill can block some of her burst's projectiles. Trust me, I suffered enough with this, it is annoyung af
And to think that I recently had the urge to farm for Ningguang in an attempt to resist pulling for Itto. Got enough boss mats for lv 80 at the very least and now I've been at the Archaic Petra domain right now and got a good off-piece bolide feather to start. Ningguang carries me since mid game until now i still use her in spiral abyss. The only character i crowned because my queen totally deserve it ❤

Marks out the nearest Rocks that can be Mined on the Minimap, if you haven't used her for that, you have no Idea how Much Raw Material you can find thanks to this!

I chose to use bennet as my 4th slot on my itto team so Bennet burst + gorou burst is more than enough healing but this is a great idea!

I love when a character works well as main-dps and quickswap, especially if it's worth using some normals/charged in quickswaps like Ning and Ayaka. This feels especially good cause it lowers the opportunity cost of waiting for energy particles, you can just do some good normals/charged attacks in that time. I hope we see less pure field-time eaters and more flexible characters that work well when swapping a lot, Sucrose is another cool example of a character that can work super well on/off the field or kinda in between.
The moment I got Ningguang during November 2020, I just fully fell in love with her. I remember screaming when I accidentally pressed E and she one-shotted a whole hilichurl camp and said "It's official. I love you Ningguang. Okay, I'm maining you." She's my second favorite character in the game (Venti being first) because of both her characterization and gameplay. I have never abandoned her and have been using her for most of the things until now (Alongside Xiao) and I can confidently say that she's a fun character to use when my mouse isn't broken and she's absolutely nuts for a 4 star character. My stats on her right now isn't the best but wow, she's an actual monster as a dps. I hope this video provides some new things for me because I really want to use her full potential, especially now that I'm using her more than Xiao. Ningguang Nation, even though I know we're smol, rise up!
Also, I recently got her C6 (Finally, after being denied of getting it since Keqing's banner) and its so much fun seeing her with so many jades that almost always misses the Golden Wolf Lord for some reason >:( It's very fulfilling and really nice though since full constellations just made her damage way too big for overworld -

So I started playing Genshin when Raiden Shogun’s banner came out, and I had to push through the main story to finally get access to her mats. Since Shogun was my main DPS I was screwed trying to fight the Electro Oceanid, until a buddy suggested investing into Ningguang to beat it. After getting her to a decent level she wiped the floor with that Thunder Chicken, and I always keep her in my back pocket after all this time. So I’m happy to see a new guide for her after all this time!
who do you team raiden with? and ningguang too?
@@jebishpokhrel302 My main Raiden team is Shogun, Xingqiu, Kokomi, and Kujo Sara. It's not the best but it's who I always seem to come back to.
For fighting Thunder Manifestation I bring Ningguang, Xingqiu, Kokomi, and Noelle. It's kind of stacked with healing, but it's what I had at the time.

Ar58 still Ningguang is my one of main dps that i use for most of the content. Especially spiral abyss 😍. Build: C6 Ningguang, R1 Skyward Atlas, 2petra & 2glad, 9/12/12 talentlvl, 2224 atk with 60/151 ratio and 124 ER.

Unfortunately, Ningguang falls into the category that seems to plague most games: if it isn't the highest rarity tier, it's no good. Genshin has proven time and time again that all characters are viable regardless of rarity, though granted that it took a few patches for Ning to really take off.
Patch 2.3 really shifted the meta IMO. Now, purely dedicated healers (Barbara, Qiqi, Kokomi) can contribute to heavy sub-DPS while not giving up their established roll, Geo characters hit like trucks on 'roids, and suddenly we have so many more build options for established characters. Can't wait to see what 2.4 and beyond will bring.
Could you do an Amber video? I've found that a pure ATK/CRIT build on her yields surprising results and while her kit is wonky, she is definitely worthy of some more TLC.

I'm personally loving using Ningguang with on Itto Team alongside Gorou for his bonus. Gorou is able to buff her damage a little more and while Itto is on his downtime with his burst I usually swap into ning and get a quick rotation with her burst and charged attacks and it's enough to start my itto/gorou cycle again.

i just decided to try maining Ningguang because of her new outfit and i wanted to try using more geo characters. this guide is so helpful and you explained everything clearly and efficiently! ty
I just want to add that with Ningguang you want to avoid having many geo constructs. Her stones will shatter when they collide with either stone constructs or the end of the map in abyss or domains and her dps just crumbles.
One thing you should try if you can is use Ei and Ningguang in the same team makes her so much fun to use with her attacks making crystals and electro dmg so you can never run out of shield as long as ei has her skill up lol

After see the leak about ningguang 2.4 skin, i start to think about building her for main dps because of her coolness
I have always been and still is a ningguang main dps person and two things to point out specially for those who want to build her up are as follows:
1. Practice her charge attack. Get used to it. It can feel clunky at first so you need practice to reliably use it always
2. It can be annoying how her jade screen will "shatter" and not remain when using it and it hits an enemy on formation. Given how important jade screen is (15% geo buff on passing, interaction with burst) there are actually times when it is better to place the screen say behind you or on the side instead of letting it straight up hit a boss and shatter immediately.

Jade screen Geo bonus is 12%... you should be assamed to call yourself a Ningguang main. I have her for 3 weeks and know that. Geo resonance gives 15% Geo dmg bonus..
She was my main when she first came out but i haven't played her for a long time and need to get used to the attacking again. Better start practicing so i can play when i get her skin
her upcoming skin has tempted me to build her, and of course you have a guide ready as soon as I even think about her haha

Great video glad she's getting some love here. This is pretty much what I'm doing in the abyss.
There is an optimal rotation for her though even in quick swap. Need to put down her Jade shield and swap out and make sure you run both your Geo supports through her shield before you do their abilities. The damn it output differencr is quite astounding

Her skill isn't bugged, it's an internal cooldown that's also present for a C0-C1 Ningguang using Sacrificial Fragments
With other characters not getting this restriction when they use sacrificial weapons, that is just unfair if the cooldown is intended.

Since my Gorou is only C2, I'm probably gonna raise my Ningguang and give her Prototype Amber for some heals in mono Geo comp lol. It's about time to build her since she's been C6 for quite a while now
Some time after Zhongli was released and promoted (before his overhaul), I really liked his kit, but lets face it, I was a simp for such style. After I fully built my Zhongli, Albedo was my next target, and then Noelle was perfected after that. At this point, I craved a fully perfected Geo team. I ended up never getting a single Ningguang until Xiao's event where I was able to obtain her for free. Free Ningguang was my first, but I never had any doubt in the Geo Supremacy, even back when Zhongli was subpar trash (according to everyone else).
Ningguang continues to carry through quite a bit of Spiral Abyss. Pretty underrated DPS, especially considering that Geo is a great all-rounder element where you don't need to worry too much about enemy resistances, vulnerabilities, reactions, etc. Where people devote everything to Swirl, Overloaded, and Melt, my strategy was always "I cast Rock", and it has rarely failed me. Super delighted that they're bringing in more Geo characters, thrilled that Ningguang is receiving attention under the spotlight.

One of the best things about Ningguang especially with constellations is that she's an incredible battery for Noelle. And not only that, she is the ranged single target antithesis to Noelle's melee AOE. But deliberately blowing up her Jade curtain generates so much particles it's crazy.
My main team is Fischl, Sucrose, Albedo, and Ningguang!!! The dmg is insane. Especially cause all 4 are optimally built

I pulled Memory of Dust for her and after hearing that it’s the worst of the 3 my heart shattered harder than ninnguangs burst 😭
overall really good guide, one thing I have to disagree is the weapon recommendation, personally I do think memory of dust is the best out of the three (the complete opposite lol) if you have zhongli or even noelle, and I think in comparison dust just has a higher damage potential out of the three even though it would require better luck for artifact farming

Even though Ning's supposed to be really good this Abyss cycle, the gameplay you showed for 12-2-2 is why I found her to be not so great to use on the contrary, at least on the 2nd half: if you place your E directly or near the center of the Kenkis, your jade screen gets destroyed immediately and you don't get to pass through them for the buff or more importantly boost your burst with them. It feels so bad using your burst at half power with the lack of the screen. If you aim your E away from the Kenkis so that you can safely place the screen, it's a DPS loss since Ning's E does a lot of damage.
I wish they'd change or greatly reduce the collision box of the jade screens or just allow them to clip enemies completely.

apparently she was meant to be a 5*, but back then there were few 4* available (or too many 5*, I forgot which one) so devs decided to made her into 4* for easier access.

I main her since day 1 (she was my first unit) and triple crowned her. I hit around 31k per gem on her Q in this abyss. She can carry so hard now
How do you reach those numbers? My ning is 190% crit dmg with high talents and geo support and she crits for like 10k.

@@naufalnoorizan1763 my main DPS now is Ningguang with Rosaria as the Sub-DPS.. They are both insane damage dealer. I go to melee attack using Rosario while waitng for burst cooldown of Ningguang.

15:30 during the whole video you're forgetting the fact, that after passing through her screen characters get 15% geo damage bonus, which makes her a great option for mono geo team.
Also, I would like to point out that geo travaler isn't probably the best option since his elemental skill can block some of her burst's projectiles. Trust me, I suffered enough with this, it is annoyung af
