I can't wait for Ahsoka series and I'm optimistic about Filoni's film. Curious about the "Dawn of the Force" idea, hope it doesn't get scrapped. Pretty sure the New Jedi era is going to suck hard tho.
A few points of interest: We see a clear inspiration and homage to the original book series by Timothy Zahn, the so-called Thrawn trilogy from legends. In the trailer, Ahsoka even says the name of the first book, Heir of the Empire. Orange lightsabers are unprofessionally homemade, unstable, similar to Kylo Ren's. This is a reference to the Dark Forces Jedi Knight game series, where the dark Jedi cult had such swords. From this series, we could already see Dark Troopers used in The Mandalorian. Filoni is a big fan of Legends and uses the best of them in the canon. Dark Jedi - not inquisitors, there are speculations in the trailer that it will be Jorus C'Baoth and Mara Jade. We see Ezra for the first time on the hologram. Hera is the wife of Ewan McGregor :)
The Dark Jedi's names are Baylon Skoll and Shin Hati, consensus being Baylon is a rogue Order 66 survivor and Shin is a Dathomiri witch. Thought their last names are interesting as they're named for the Sun- and Moon-Chasers from Norse mythology. Also those ships are either a New Republic design we haven't seen before or Strike-class Modular Cruisers (which Thrawn used a lot of in the original Zahn trilogy)
Their blades looked a bit more Orange than Red, so maybe these aren't Sith but rather Darksiders, people who don't associate themselves as Sith but are just profeicent in the Dark Side of the Force.
I was like HOLY CRAP!!!! I jumped out of my seat and cheered when they showed the shot from Lothal that recreated the closing scene from Rebels. My initial thought that Ray Stevenson's character was Joruus C'Baoth from Zahn's heir to the Empire trilogy, but he might be someone different.
Ahsoka is one of my favorite Star Wars characters ever and the Rebels fan in me has me so pumped. I'm so excited and have faith it's gonna be good. Personally I'm so excited for Thrawn and his masterclass villian shenanigans.
Back in the late 90s and early 00's I was a zealot for Star Wars, so seeing them fully embracing a foundational EU story like the Zahn books hits me right in the nostalgia. However, the intensity of my love for the universe has dulled a great deal. I am hopeful for this as I have enjoyed much of the Favloni-verse stuff but it is so tonally inconsistent that I don't feel as invested. Some of that is because I want more nuanced stories and performances, but the main thing is just that I have been exposed to so much other media that my tastes have changed. Star Wars is basically like comfort food now, I know it isn't very good for me but sometimes it is delicious I need to have it. So much of what comes out now I treat as a like nerdy buffet. That kind of what make current Star Wars awesome, if something comes out that you don't 100% vibe with, you can just wait a bit and something new will come that may give you what you want. Am I the only one who is psyched to see Ray Stevenson go absolutely ham as what looks to be a Sith Juggernaut straight out of SWTOR? I have loved him since his run on HBO's Rome as Titus Pullo, and it was cool to hear him voice Gar Saxon in Rebel against his old scene partner Kevin McKidd as Fenn Rau. It makes me hopeful we will get a Rau cameo in Mando season 3 since he last we saw him in Rebels he was aligned with Bo Katan. Andor Ssn2 was the only other thing I am really looking forward to right now. The production quality and tone of that show is exactly what I wanted it to be. It makes me wish Tony Gilroy had been the one to make Rogue as a whole because I feel like he would utilized those characters better.
I am so hyped to see all of our Phoenix Squad back and also in Live Action. I´m really hoping to see Kallus. Loved seeing Thrawn again, and that Hologram of Ezra just peeked my interest...
The trailer for Ashoka is great,almost looks like Rebels season 5 with all these characters coming back from this show ;) Other announcements seem very promising too,especially Acolyte and Dave Filloni's movie :)

This trailer gave us a lot to chew on. I guess there was a snippet of episode 7 of Mando (actually word is folks may have seen the episode) anywho, based on that info. I have a feeling there will be way more to Thrawn. Ahsoka mentions sensing an upcoming Darkness. Well guess who got taken to that darkness courtesy of the Purgill? Yep Thrawn and Ezra.
I do believe Hera was flying the Phoenix, the shuttle on the Ghost. Lars is going to play Thrawn and it has been confirmed, Sonny you and Kat will get your wish.

I personally believe that would be a mistake, regardless of the fact that I thought the sequels were atrocious. Wonder what everyone else thinks. Please, if you have an opinion, keep it civil. There's so much toxicity on this subject that I'm hesitant to ask.

Ok hear me out, I have a crazy theory. We saw Balan (dark jedi santa as people have dubbed him) in what looked to be the world between worlds. Balan's style of fighting, look and physicality reminds me very much of Eternal Emperor Valkorian. Could this be Darth Vitiate just going by a different name as he has before, and perhaps the girl is his crazy daughter Vaylin (agaiin using a different name). Their dress, burnt orange sabers and fighting styles just screamed Valkorian to me. Either way its cool to see dark jedi's being represented.
So if they reference Heir to the Empire so directly, maybe they will adapt the book trilogy and set it in reference with the new canon? Then this older Sith in would be the Sith master Thrawn searches in the first book (and this is where I stop because spoilers...)

I believe some of her she takes place before the Mandalorian, and then at the same time period as the Mandalorian. So I think we get a couple of flashbacks. At least, that's what I have heard from other Star Wars sources . Regardless, this is going to be a good show.

I’d recommend watching both. But you can definitely skip a lot of Clone Wars episodes if you just want to understand the character of Ahsoka a bit better.
My God, do you think those force users can be from the Imperial Harvest program, just like the birthday of Jedi master Eeth Koth's child should have been after Vader killed him and the Inquisitors took his daughter, so she should have been included there. We saw something similar in Rebels and it was mentioned in the Obi-Wan Kenobi Show. They were to become Imperial spies. With basic skills and strength training. Ps even more is the official confirmation of the orange color of the lightsaber Cal Kestis was the first and these are the next. But I hope they will focus on the fact that, unlike other Imperials, Thrawn is not a villain. And I also like the return of Morgan Elsbeth, one of the last Nightsisters. 😮😉🤔😊😍🤩

It isn't C'Baoth, but it's probably very inspired by it.
Mandalorian knights(ex jedi turned mando) all had orange light sabers would be neat to see over the typical sith.

The word is Baylon survived Order 66 and the girl is his apprentice, Shin. They are allied with Thrawn, supposedly.

Valkorion doesn't really do a whole lot of saber combat in Eternal Empire, though. He's very much a force person primarily.
