Appreciate the vid mate. Got a program card today. Have 4 cars with hobbywing, not sure how I lived without the program card for so long🤔 man it’s easy , no more counting beeps and pressing on/ set, press press press. Cheers for the tutorial.👍🏼
so I put the max6 in my max 4s using stock motor so truck in forward is not moving fast but in reverse it goes like it should what do you think is wrong
Your right brother, yeah I was getting used to that system. I already blown the gears this weekend at the Drag Strip 😂 Well time to rebuild again and again and again 🤣😂 thanks for watching and have a great one !
Hey so I just bought a max 5 esc and since I got it it’s been flashing red light idk what to do I have steering and the sec fan is working the controller is brand new and receiver, i tried another controller and did the same thing so I really need help and when I tried to calibrate it when I’m in neutral position and hold full throttle to switch the next position I get no beeps
I apologize, I’m out of town at the moment. Have you check on some of the rc forums? Kevin Talbot’s channel, he has done a lot of max 5 esc’s. Thanks for stopping by, I’ll have another look at your question when I get home.
What is the best setting for lvc? My battery drained to 0% twice before my kraton stopped using the hobbywing max 6 which is not good at all. One of my batteries starting to puff a little. Thanks in advance
I usually have it set to the highest ivc, I think there is two settings on this one. Sorry it’s been a while since I messed with it, I been dealing with precancer this last year. Thanks so much for stopping by the channel.
You can program, however, much punch you want at the start or if you wanted to lag at the start it’s up to you that’s why you program the ESC. ESC also adjust the braking. I go over that in the video my friend. Thanks for watching. take care God bless.
Are you combining the voltage series to make it an 8s right? Or are you running parallel which means it’s only 4s and your just adding a battery for more milliamps?
@@BIGDRONEFLYER77RC they are running in series. Negative esc to negative of plug 1... positive of plug1 to negative of plug2... Positive of plug2 to positive ESC.
Hello Friend, thanks for the explanation. You said you programm BEC on 7.4V. is it right all the electric components (receiver, Servo etc) must have a minimum voltage of 7.4 or higher? All my component beside the receiver (6.5v) have it and i was wondering if i can programm the BEC on 7.4v? Thanks a lot.
I upgraded the servo and it has no problem running at 7.4v but you do risk burning up the receiver. I should of mentioned that in the video, to be safe I would just run it at 6v. It should be able to handle that voltage, I just wanted a little more power to my servo since I was doing some heavy bashing.
For me I’m going to switch mine back to 6.0v, but the 7.4v sure made the servo and fans work much better. Right now I’m tapped out on cash so I don’t want to buy another 30 dollar receiver. I may run separate 6.0v to my receiver so I can put the 7.4v to that servo. So my answer is it’s at your own risk, I’m not going to say run it at 7.4v. But I think that servo would be fine, it’s the receiver I feel will end up burning out. I hate to say ya run it and then yours burns out, that would not be good.
@@BIGDRONEFLYER77RC what do you mean with "i run separate 6v on my receiver so i can put 7.4v on my Servo'? You mean a separate BEC for the receiver? If so please let me know which solution you chose😉
I’m saying that I would like to be able to just run a separate 6v system to my receiver only. That way I can have the bec 7.4v from the esc run my servo and fans. You see what I’m saying? Anyways thanks for watching and be safe out there. I have to get going, Cheers
I'm a bit late. But you have any idea why my max 5 is binding throttle to the steering? I can't seem to get the throttle to even register when in programming mode on the esc.
Make sure you have the wires right on the receiver. You may have the throttle where the steering is supposed to plug in, they sound like there plugged in backwards.
Just remember number one is the turn them, and number two is the burn them. That’s how I always remembered Where the servo wire goes and where the throttle wire goes. It’s always helped me, I hope you get it figured out soon my friend.
@@BIGDRONEFLYER77RC i figured i plugged them in wrong haha. One other question if you don't mind. I've got throttle and brake, but no reverse, any idea why?
Hey thanks for watching, I show in the video what to select if you want to set the BEC. I don’t remember offhand right now I’ve been very ill and in the hospital. Sorry I can’t be much of help at this moment.
@@BIGDRONEFLYER77RC done mate thank you easy if you got the program card and wow what a difference it makes my servo is like a whole new servo and my fans are just nuts
Kindly I am facing a problem with the Max6, it seems that low voltage cut off is letting the voltage of the cells get very low to around 3 volts on the factory settings which is on medium. I don't know if I change it to high or low would help and cuts at a higher voltage. At the moment I am using a 5500mah 35c batteries and a Rocket 1720kv motor and I don't know if it's the batteries or esc that are causing this problem. Could someone assist me please? Thanks
Try changing the cut off to kick on sooner with the program card. I always time my Rc’s just in case that cut off voltage fails. Try the highest cut off voltage, that should cut the voltage higher and not let it drain as low as you been having. Thanks for watching and let me know have it goes Joseph.
@@BIGDRONEFLYER77RC Thanks for response I will try to change the settings and let you know the outcome meanwhile when I purchase another set of batteries I will try to get them with a higher (C) value at least 50c because when I used the standard 2050kv motor and 150amp blx esc I never had an issue the only problem that I found that once the pinion got loose and was binded with the motor mount does increasing the load on the esc and it didn't cut off until it was to late and it damaged the esc itself that I had to replace it. Thanks for your video it was very interesting.
Great video, thanks :) Why on earth did they put the port on the fan socket? On the QUICRUN Fusion FOC System 2 in 1 ESC+Motor (1800KV) has the port on the start button!!! So much easier :)
Just for a few tests I did, I have it back on. I totally rebuilt the whole thing now and since I’ve been down and been very sick in and out of the hospital. So hopefully I can put a video together when I get well sometime and then get back to my Reviews again. Thanks so much for watching.

Yes but I am not running disabled at this time now, just had it off on the video. I wanted to research what the best cut off would be for these batteries. I have the low voltage set and I dropped the servo volts down as well. Thanks John for watching, be safe out there.
It should let you go through all the reverse percentages. Not to sure, I have mine on 1 for 25% so you may have to see what your #2 setting is a guess. Let me know if you try it, I never came across that on my Max 6 hobbywing esc before. Oh one last thing, for the servo setting I would keep it at 6v and not 7volts like I did. It could burn out your servo if yours is stock and not a high output servo like mine. Thanks for watching and hope this video helped ya. Be safe my friend
I haven’t had any problems. It’s up to you on how much punch you want on take off. The only problem I’ve been having it’s a power transfer, I’ve been having power transferring more to the front. But that has to do with the diffs. I’m rebuilding the bottom half now, it’s a bit of a mess from the previous owner. Thanks for watching
@@BIGDRONEFLYER77RC ok, thanks. I have a modded 6s x maxx, I run the whole 8s Cush drive assembly with 6s diffs and so far I haven’t had a problem for 5 months and I sure hope I don’t either lol

Would a LVC make my throttle cut out ?
The Rc will stop running at what LVC you set. Just don’t go to low on the voltage s you don’t wreck the battery.
