  • after endless sessions I've found that this is a trim that I really love and I feel that it works in any conditions.Feel free to let me know about your next session, and how the sail felt with some small changes.Cheers!

Hey Lennart great video! Thank you for that. I have 100% rdm masts with same imcs as Severne red masts. In your opinion would a Severne red mast be any better? My 4.8 & 4.4 seem to rig fine on my 400/370. I mostly do old freestyle moves but working up the nerve to go switch & duck. Your other videos are great motivation!

I use 4 batten sails. I found that if I rig my sail too baggy it feels very slow and less reactive.

Thanks, and can I ask when is stronger wind do you tighten the sail more or do you keep it like this no matter of the conditions?

Hi Lennart, thank you for this great video! I also use the Fr33ks (2021) and most of the time I use the 5.2. I will try your setup the next time I rig.
The main question I have is how do you tune the sail if the wind increases but you don't want to rig a smaller sail yet? Do you extend the boom 2cm and pull it all the way? I'm 190.5cm tall and have the boom height around where you do maybe slightly higher. I found that in order to have some room to add more outhaul I need an extra 4cm on the boom extension setting but I don't pull it all the way to leave room for tuning based on the wind. I think I saw a video somewhere saying this. My strategy is usually to tune the outhaul and if the sail still has so much power that I can't do a flaka then I rig the next size sail down.

Hey man! that’s a good question. This might come a bit unexpected but In freestyle I never change the rig of my sail. For example I’m on 5.2 with 16knots,or if I’m on 5.2 in 22knots I will always have the same trim. However if you just can’t hold on to the sail and can’t go smaller I would add some outhall. The downhall should always remain the same. For example on the 5.2 normally goes 166 then you would not add more than 2cm so 168.Hope I could help you out:)
