I'm here after doing Ancestry and finding over 30 3rd-distant cousins that were Cuban and over 50 that were Puerto Rican. My roots are in VA and MD and they mainly branched to TN, AL, AR and MS/LA
Also some Mexican matches and Mexican DNA that I had no clue about
Amazing! I also have a video on Puerto Rico coming next week which you might like! Thanks for watching and supporting!
@BohoAfroDiaries So what i've learned since doing more research is that quite a few Americans have some ancestors that were slaves in the Caribbean and other islands like Cape Verde and Madeira before being shipped to America since it was the last country to have slaves.
@BohoAfroDiaries Nope we're not less African! It shows how diverse & spread out the diaspora is. And yes I think it does mean some of our ancestors stayed in those regions or it was our ancestors family (like parents or siblings). Most of my great great grandparents are from Tennessee & Arkansas but a lot of their parents & grandparents are from Virginia and I'm still trying to figure out where some of them lived before coming to the States. Well the non-Europeans because i've figured out where most of the Europeans came from.
@Iseywut Iwunto I do some of them aren't super distant tho. LA/MS is also one of my genetic communities so somebody probably lived there and we just didn't know it.
Love your videos sis! Afro-Jamaican pulling up... My cousins grandmother was of the Eastern Cuban/Jamaican migrant worker group. Your videos are getting shared on FB.... Keep it going! Thank you for speaking the truth on the lack of representation in the communist party...
We love you Afro-Cuban and we love all natives also who liaise with Yoruba people. You shall over come. Thanks for the videos.
sadly the most of our natives died....We actually thought they were extinct since a few years ago, that we found a family at the mountains that were sure they were descendants. This stories break my heart...
@Caribbean Neko AK wow 😰 Life too harsh.
Saludos a la gente Afro Cubano. I want to learn more about Afro Cuban history
Date one

I'm sorry to hear things didn't work out with your ex but it's wonderful you are teaching your daughter about the Cuban side of her heritage. Warmest wishes 💖

She’s beautiful and I love all her videos
Thank you Aaron! 🙌🏽
cuban knowledge is priceless......
Your videos are very educational. God bless you for this information
I'm Cuban...I am Haitian, Puerto Rican, Jamaican, And of course African (Congolese and Nigerian) and Spanish descendant....We are soooo mixed ethnicity. But our culture is strongly afro cuban and European..But Afro Cuban is what you can see the most if you come to the island. And a something important ..
Our natives almost got extinct...Spanish killed the most of them. We used to have communication with natives from Haiti and Dominican Republic..Called La Spaniola back in the days. But we'll sadly there aren't a lot of natives descendants in Cuba and also we don't have a lot from their culture 😕 😢 😔
Yes the espanoles brang small pox and they rebelled against Spain. Soo sad most died off that is why the Spanish brang African slaves afterwards they needed slaves to work the plantain even after independence they stayed as slaves cause Cuban born Spaniards prospered and USA only dealt with Cubans of full Spanish blood messed up
You do a great job of pronouncing Spanish words, I’m surprised your accent isn’t more Castilian though, just given Europeans/Brits usual speak Spanish in a Spaniard accent.
She lived in Mexico for a year so that probably helped
Nice video🥰 My mother is cuban, and my father is gipsy from Hungary. I live in London now ✌🏼

I was born in Havana Cuba. My mom was born in jamaica. My dad was born in saint Vincent. The census kept saying I am black. My skin is yellow I just have afro Latino hair. To me my skin is still yellow that is Chinese jamaica n really Jamaican. Jamaica is in the Caribbean not Africa.
There are millionsss of black people with yellow skin or light skin so you are not special so yes you are black 🙄😂😅

Is Akwaaba a Ghanaian saying?
@@aaron0077 yes it is. ☺️
Love your videos
I want to travel to Cuba but I don't know anyone there
Also, Antonio Maceo's father was a Venezuelan.
He was indeed! And I have just finished filming my video on Afro Venezuela, which will be out in June. If you're interested, keep and eye out for it!
Cuba is mostly mixed and black...Havana and The orient of Cuba has the most of mixed and black...Center is mostly white...and Also Holguin in the orient...is mostly white.
That isn’t true close to 70 percent are white Spaniards 26 percent mixed black bout ten percent makes sense the Spanish stayed for soo long on Cuba and those born there stayed and many during world war 2 stayed many prospered with USA helping these white Cubans
@@antoniogutierrezjr7471that percent is wrong 🤣🤣 that 76 percent is so damn fake bc cuba is a lof mixed and black and for the white is low if u wasn’t born in cuba stfu
Do you mind to share books on PIC movement? I'm just now learning how the free education came about
I enjoyed this video generally. I understand that you don't have a lot of time, but the way that you use the term "Cuban government" is not clear. You are using it as a blanket term when the government systems, have changed over time and there's a conflation that can easily be done. Is it the Spanish government in Cuba, the US occupation, or the socialist government? Someone watching this video wouldn't know. That said, glad there's something on UA-cam talking about the Afro-Cubans
Chister Columba’s Norn Their Poteges Roman Empire
What does it say about the disability? MANY FAMILIES ASK?
How can you say Palo as a religion and not include Congo
You look nice where you from
Where is the native Cuban population now? Does any Cuban identify as natives? If not, What happened to them? Let me guess....somehow they all died out, right? 😏
They still live in one part of the island but the percentage of native is very low is more black and mix and for the white is very low to😂 but people still believe that cuban is 80% white when is not
Most of the pure indigenous Caribbean islands native population died long time ago. What's left in some islands is their mixed descendant Sambos and Mestizos etc. the rest of the indigenous groups related to Caribbean natives can be found in central and south America in places like Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana, Honduras etc
I guess he’s Spanish Fidel ran Out
stop playing the race card with latinos we are mix with black and withe and tainos
Seriously the new thing it seems, cause division like usa
