There is an interesting story behind the owner of that castle in 15th century. The guy was Erasmus of Lueg (Erazem Predjamski in Slovene), a robber knight. He killed a relative of Emperor Frederich and he sent an army to hunt Erasmus down. He fled to his castle which was under siege for more than a year with intention to starve him. But they had no idea they had source of fresh water and they had passage to the Vipava valley on the other through the cave system where they could get suppliesin. Legend has it, he mocked the invaders by throwing fresh cherries at them. Finally, he died, again, according to a legend, in his toilet, when one of his people betrayed him and they took him down by cannon balls.

Can you go in the Planinska cave. It's so beautiful But be careful the ground is slippery. Your gonna walk through a tunnel that italians build in ww2. Your gonna see a replic of human fish (in slovene: človeška ribica)
