Little correction on what rifle was used to break Hathcock's record. We don't use the Barrett M82/M107 in Canadian military service, and instead use the MacMillan TAC-50, designated C-15. Both Furlong (2,657 yds) and the more recent JTF2 sniper (3,871 yds) were set using a MacMillan. We have one in our weapons repair shop right now, absolute beast of a rifle.
The biggest change we’ve made to the M2 in the military is now the Headspace and Timing is pre set and you aren’t allowed to adjust it unless you’re an actual armorer anymore. They also fused some of the internal parts so the bolt itself doesn’t break down as much as it once did.
Hey Brandon, I’m in the Army and was selected to qualify on this weapon next month. They ran us through the basics of the M2 and the M249 SAW today, and showed us this video as an example. They told us to use this as a reference leading up to our qualifying. Just thought that was cool and wanted to let you know.

As a military man with 30+ years of service working in Armoured Vehicles that mounted a 50 Cal (in the Aussie Army)...I can (in my professional opinion) confirm that this M2 50 Cal is indeed firing in Semi-Auto mode... very quick semi-auto mode, as Mr Herrera has stated. 👍

You see, the double paddle is like those paintball gun triggers that let you shoot really fast. When you think about it, the M2 is just a giant paintball gun that shoots pointy lead and copper paintballs but instead of compressed air canisters it uses a chemical reaction to create compressed air on demand. It's really quite innovative!
Every APC in my vietnam unit had the M-2 browning 50 cal. 9APC and 6 m-48 52 ton tanks. We had gun trucks with quod 4 m2, and jeeps mounted on pipe. 4th div. Fire base schular.
My favorite M2 memory from my time in the Army was when one of my sargents and his men found one in an abandoned Iraqi motor pool and brought it back to out TOC. On its reciever was a manufacturer stamp saying General Motors Spark Plug Division.
As a German I never come into contact with firearms. When I recently found a small caliber gun at my late grandma's apartment, it was only thanks to guntubers that I knew about the rules of gun safety, allowing me to handle the gun the way it is supposed to be handled and not put me, or anyone else in danger. So yeah... just because this is fun content, doesn't mean it is not educational. I won't go as far as to say "This saved my life", because I would've stilll be careful, but somewhere in this world, there is a young man or woman, who followed gun safety rules due to you guys and is still alive.

Police officers and peace keepers who each handle different situations. Peace keepers know how to handle things without mag dumping someone innocent in their own property as happened a while ago, just for example.
When you mention that some of the M2s from back in 1934 are still in service today, it reminds me of the time my friend told me he was at a range on range day for the national guard. A rookie did not properly headspace the M2 and promptly ended up finding a way to destroy the thing. He found a date on the gun and it was made in 1940, it survived all those wars just to be destroyed by an idiot with sand for brains.
I recently read an article where a national guard unit turned in an M2 for maintenance in late 2023 or early 2024 that had a serial number in the 600 range, meaning it was one of the original 1934 guns.
What's really asinine, is they know damn well most kids just set their age to 18 anyway. Kids now grow up online, and they're not going to be stopped by arbitrary age restrictions.

One good thing about the development and improvement over the years the newer .50 cal's don't require setting the head space and timing. There was a .50 cal we had that was made by the AC spark plug company so I am very sure it seen action in WWII.

At some point, when directions become clear, I think a LOT of YT creators are likely to jump ship. The problem is jumping from frying pan to fire.
There is not a single content creator using full auto, they all just have incredible fast trigger fingers. There are also no content creators that ever exceed the speed limit, they just accelerate to speed limit and keep on accelerating while staying perfectly at whatever the limit says. It´s magic and even scientists can´t explain the awesomeness behind it.
UA-cam needs to stop trying to regulate things that should be regulated by parents. Just because a ton of kids are IPad kids ruled to screens use your platform doesn't mean cater to it.

I had my first gun, a .22, at 8, a family tradition. Come to think of it, I did not own it but dad brought home a North Korean burp gun (no ammo) when we were stationed in Japan during the Korean War. I was 5 at the time. We had to leave it behind when we returned to the States.

USMC veteran the M2 was in the turret of my AAV. Everything he said is true.
Even when I was in the USMC they highly recommended we never use full auto on our M16's not only does it waste ammo but accuracy is also lost.

I was an M2 Gunner while on active duty, we had a M2 with a low 100's Serial number in 2010 shooting ammo from 1945. Flawless.

My favorite M2 memory from my time in the Army was when one of my sargents and his men found one in an abandoned Iraqi motor pool and brought it back to out TOC. On its reciever was a manufacturer stamp saying General Motors Spark Plug Division.
Did a deployment in an African country with civil affairs and the HN mil had an M2 manufactured in 1943 by A.C. Delco. I was blown away.
Does that mean the ATF classifies it as a spark plugs?

As a German I never come into contact with firearms. When I recently found a small caliber gun at my late grandma's apartment, it was only thanks to guntubers that I knew about the rules of gun safety, allowing me to handle the gun the way it is supposed to be handled and not put me, or anyone else in danger. So yeah... just because this is fun content, doesn't mean it is not educational.
I won't go as far as to say "This saved my life", because I would've stilll be careful, but somewhere in this world, there is a young man or woman, who followed gun safety rules due to you guys and is still alive.

When you mention that some of the M2s from back in 1934 are still in service today, it reminds me of the time my friend told me he was at a range on range day for the national guard. A rookie did not properly headspace the M2 and promptly ended up finding a way to destroy the thing. He found a date on the gun and it was made in 1940, it survived all those wars just to be destroyed by an idiot with sand for brains.

I recently read an article where a national guard unit turned in an M2 for maintenance in late 2023 or early 2024 that had a serial number in the 600 range, meaning it was one of the original 1934 guns.
What's really asinine, is they know damn well most kids just set their age to 18 anyway. Kids now grow up online, and they're not going to be stopped by arbitrary age restrictions.

@@LoliFoxQueen I don't know about "punishment" just a re assessment of their censorship rules. As it is, there are several alternative platforms gaining ground. At some point, when directions become clear, I think a LOT of YT creators are likely to jump ship. The problem is jumping from frying pan to fire.
There is not a single content creator using full auto, they all just have incredible fast trigger fingers.
There are also no content creators that ever exceed the speed limit, they just accelerate to speed limit and keep on accelerating while staying perfectly at whatever the limit says.

I had my first gun, a .22, at 8, a family tradition. Come to think of it, I did not own it but dad brought home a North Korean burp gun (no ammo) when we were stationed in Japan during the Korean War. I was 5 at the time. We had to leave it behind when we returned to the States.
